We have synchronization problem while trying to open Firefox exe from SAP. In the lower versions of Firefox (like v45) it is working well but in latest version it is not. Scenario : In the lower versions when we open the Firefox and loading the website, the control goes to website from SAP(The background SAP window act as disabled) and return back to SAP only after closing the Firefox window. But in latest version it is running in different thread. Is there any setting in new versions to enable old feature/ How to manage this in new version?

When I download a file, I often separate sections of the name with 2 spaces, to make it easier to read. (I also use different types of brackets and hyphens etc.) See example in screenshot attached.

This worked fine with Firefox, until about 6 to 12 months ago I think. Since around that time, the filename that I choose is no longer being retained. Now, each double space is being changed automatically to just a single space.

I tested Chrome and Brave browsers using all the same parameters (same filename, source file, website, computer, user etc). Those browsers both respected the name chosen and retained the double spaces.

Obviously, changing the filename from the one the user chooses is not expected or desireable. If this is a "feature" rather than a bug in Firefox, then could you please create a way to disable it, eg in settings or about:config. Thanks.

Websites that run fine on Safari will consume RIDICULOUS amount of CPU time when open in tabs on Firefox. This is NOT a website issue. This is a FIREFOX issue. Doing a little bit of searching on the internet, this has apparently been an ONGOING problem for FIREFOX.

I am tired of all the "possible" explanations, especially after ruling them out.

NO, it's NOT "add-on" or extensions. NO, it's NOT "preferences." NO, it's NOT "the website."

IT IS FIREFOX.

I am ready to PERMANENTLY DELETE Firefox—just like I did with Chrome—and NEVER look back.

Sad. I remember the days when Firefox was my only browser.

Too bad it's developers seem (really) inept.

Hi, I am trying to fill out a PDF, but no matter how I save it (tried file save as, print as pdf, and the little folder icon) it will not save. This has been a reoccurring issue for the past few days, it usually gets fixed by restarting firefox, but the issue always pops up again. Is there anything that can be done to fix this without having to close firefox? Thanks.

Hello, in the past week at least 10 of my users have had issues with Gmail timing out in Firefox on Windows 10. We cleared cache/cookies, uninstalled/reinstalled, and updated both Dell and Windows. The error message states "reconnecting in 10s" but never reconnects. At first glance, it appears the users are having network issues. However, Gmail in Chrome doesn't present this issue. Please advise. Thank you.

I leave Deezer playing in the background most of the day. When I first open Firefox, active memory usage is low, but it creeps up when Deezer is playing. When Deezer is not in use, active memory usage by Firefox goes much more slowly, if at all. When I close and reopen Firefox, active memory usage goes way down before climbing slowly.

I suspect Deezer is doing something weird, but I can't fix it myself, and I don't really understand the behavior well enough to explain what needs to be done. I'm open to pushing the issue with them, but that doesn't help in the short-term.

I've tried "minimize memory usage" in about:memory and it seems to help a bit... I think... but switching to that tab every hour or two to press the button is hardly a way to live.

Is there a way to periodically automate this process, or otherwise have Firefox help me manage this memory leak?

The issue I am experiencing is this - whenever I refresh a tab within my browser while developer tools is open on that tab, the DOM tree disappears completely. I am still able to click "inspect" and hover over elements, and I still get the visual feedback of the styles being applied to that element. Additionally, the CSS styles still display in the right-hand side of developer tools when I inspect an element. The only issue I'm seeing within the "Inspector" tab within developer tools is the missing DOM tree.

The other tabs within developer tools (Console, Debugger, Network, Performance, etc...) seem to be working fine (as far as I can tell). Navigating to another page within this tab does not solve the issue.

If I open a new tab within the same browser window, I am able to see the DOM tree again, but only until the page refreshes in which case the error occurs again. I have experienced this issue intermittently for a couple of years now, but this is the first time where it has been persistent despite re-installing browser, restarting computer, etc...

Please let me know if there is any further information that I can provide that might help solve this issue.

Thanks very much for any help that anybody can provide.

Since Firefox 11 installed onto my PC, I get about 15 instances of Firefox running in Task Manager, and uploads onto a podcast website are impossibly slow so that I am timed out from podcast website. Short video upload onto FB takes an hour now via Firefox11. The "Performance" fix has no 1-8 option anymore, unchecking "Use recommended settings" does nothing. Any solutions to suggest?

Watching some YouTube videos recently, usually posted within the past few days, would make the website run extremely slowly. Disabling my extensions and removing them did not help make things go faster at all. (Ad Block-The best ad blocker, Ad block plus, Honey, and Reddit Enhancement Suite)

Running Firefox in troubleshoot mode seems to make them work smoothly, refreshing Firefox didn't do anything to fix it.

YouTube works on other Browsers like edge and Chrome. This is only a problem that I started to have today.

Hi,

I used Firefox ESR on an old version of Puppy Linux (Slackware-based). It worked fine until about the end of November 2021, after which none of the updates worked. The last working version is 78.15.0esr (32-bit).

On any later version, if I run Firefox from a console I get the following error message:

firefox: symbol lookup error: /opt/firefox/libxul.so: undefined symbol: gdk_screen_get_monitor_scale_factor

About the same time this happened, Tor browser (based on Firefox ESR) also stopped working, giving a similar error message.

Could anyone explain to me why this happens and if/how I might be able to fix it?

Thanks.

i used to use "no hardware acceleration" mode because my GPU: 1050TI and CPU: I5-10400F, due to my hardware is not strong enough and i have 2 screens to watch TWITCH while gaming..

I found that after yesterday, i open 2+ twitch streaming pages then my cpu will run 100% in (no hardware acceleration mode), however when i turn on the "hardware acceleration mode" my cpu down to 2X-3X%...

Is firefox had any update that cause the problem?

Unless i upgrade my hardware, does it had any suggestions to solve this problem?

if not, please mozilla and firefox development team solve or reverse the setting....

Thank you so much, i love firefox multi-picture in picture function a lot and none of the other browsers can do it.

Please help me, thank you!

But if I visit https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/vvb2060/Magisk@b03fdcb14dc0e7ec88e98ac3dd769d96ab01c1e2/app/src/main/res/raw/changelog.md Firefox will download it automatically, instead of directly open it in browser. The "content-type" of this http request is "text/markdown".

This is not the problem of "What should Firefox do with other files?" setting...

I make a test, I create a file "test.md" in the Nginx website folder, and I add "default_type text/markdown" to conf to force its content-type, pic here: https://vip2.loli.io/2022/05/12/v39nT8wu6yIlXeH.png

When I open it in Edge Chromium, it will shows what inside of it: https://vip1.loli.io/2022/05/12/EGFwgHPtNjqshyl.png

But Firefox... https://vip1.loli.io/2022/05/12/vuz8YBQAlD2ZCGk.png ( Here I turn on "Ask whether to open or save files")

I am using Firefox Dev 101.0b5 and also test it with Firefox Stable 100.0, the same.
