When I display the review page for any installed add-on, I'm unable to submit a review. A few details:

1) I do not see the expected, "Rate Your Experience" link 2) I'm logged onto my Firefox account 3) I'm aware it uses different credentials than Mozilla Support 4) I've tried clicking on the yellow stars but it doesn't allow me to rate the plug in or display any new links 5) I've read other forum posts from other users who've experienced the same symptoms

Ideas, anyone? Thanks,

I don't use any browser extensions.

I never saw this issue before, and I have been using Firefox as a primary browser for many years. I'm on a MacBook Air, M1.

A while ago I formatted my computer, and installed FireFox for the first time. Ever since installing FireFox, I noticed an issue which has been a constant source of frustration, when I rewind any YouTube video the playback volume changes to a lower value, until I rewind again.

I tried looking online, this is the closest match I've found, but there's no solution there

I tested this issue on different browsers (Edge, and IE), no problems there. I tried disabling extensions, no change. I tried resetting FireFox, no change. I made sure that Windows doesn't automatically adjust system volume. I tested this issue on different Video platforms, no problems there.

I use YouTube when I practice (music), so I rewind a lot.

Any help is very appreciated.

Why, with not very many active open windows, and just after opening, is FF using 175% of my CPU, not counting all the separate listings in my Activity Monitor. Plus it's using nearly all 16 GBs of my RAM. With every new update, I pray it will mean the browser will just work, and not use up all my computer's resources, but it just never does. Pretty soon, more & more of us will just give up on this browser, which used to work better, years ago, and has only gone downhill since.

Hi,

Almost daily, I have to delete cert9.db and restart Firefox, otherwise I can't access some websites, or even web interfaces of local devices on our LAN.

security.enterprise_roots.enabled is greyed out, so I can't change that but it is set to "true", which I believe means that it should be using Windows Cert store and not cert9.db. Yet still, deleting cert9.db is the solution to my issues.

Can anyone advise on what I can do for a more permanent fix?

Thanks,

M

When I go to https://squareup.com/login the entry fields do not appear in Firefox. It's impossible for me to access my Square account through Firefox currently, which I use for client invoicing. I have no trouble logging in through Chrome. Screenshot attached.

I have Privacy Badger and AdBlock installed for both browsers. I tried disabling them for Firefox just to see if that was the issue, but it made no difference. I am using an iMac running macOS Catalina version 10.15.7. My Firefox Browser is version 97.0.1, and currently shows that it's up to date. My Chrome browser is version 98.0.4758.109, also up to date.

Anything else I can try? Does this need to be fixed in Firefox? Let me know.

And just in case it helps, my Firefox crashes when I try to share the entire screen on Google Meet

This is the third time I've lost all my passwords (and logins) since the beginning of the year. I had over 200 when I lost it the first time. I've entered over 75 since then and today I just lost those. Fortunately, I had a backup of my profile. The old "key4.db" and "logins.json" files I had didn't work, although they have a significant size. In fact, looking at the "logins.json" using VS Code I see the logins are there but they don't display in the "Settings > Privacy & Security". How can I get access to them when this happens again. I was able to restore the profile from several days ago so I'm not completely in trouble.  :-)

When attempting to compose a Hotmail email, without provocation, the email will leave the screen altogether, landing in either 'draft' or 'sent'. If I'm replying to an email, the reply will disappear into draft or sent folders, and the original gets thrown into the archive folder (or some other folder). The auto-fill option has a tendency to not include vowels. Any help would be appreciated.

Seemingly randomly, when opening a new tab, FF freezes up completely.

This has only started happening today. After starting my PC, I opened up FF. Upon opening Dicord in a tab (3rd tab, YouTube and Twitter were previous and still open) and clicking on it while loading, it froze. A white line appeared at the top, and FF overlapped, and thus hid, my task bar. Waiting (5 min) did nothing, so I clicked and the "... is not responding" dialogue popped up, and I closed it.

Upon starting again, it restored the tabs that were previously open. I could swap between use them normally. However, when I opened a link in a new tab, it froze again.

After another restart, not even the new empty tab would load, freezing again, and every try afterwards.

Starting in troubleshooting mode or reseting did nothing (though I may not have waited long enough, an 'Old Firefox Data' folder was created and filled, but no window opened). I ran the installer again, which resulted in me having to redo some Addon settings, but worked fine for a while (~1h maybe?), before freezing again. A PC restart fixed it again for a longer while, but then it happened again, this time while trying to write this. Additionally, there was a freeze while clicking into the Subject field here, after which the even the new tabs froze again.

Another PC restart seems to have allowed me to use FF again, while I tipped this on my phone.

Hardware acceleration is off, History deletes every time I close FF, Addons on or off don't seem to matter. CPU and RAM aren't even near fully used. Drivers are up to date, Windows as well. (Running a System File Check right now, as I have upgraded to Win10 only a few days ago, although I was able to use FF during those days without issue, and the PC has been shut down in between as well. The SFC said it found and repaired files, though it didnt say anything other than that, so that might just be a "We found no issues and fixed those." translation kinda thing.)

I really don't know what else to do.

Maybe this is a bug report?

Adobe Digital Editions software is used by Archive.org, Open Library, Kobo store, and many other entities to deliver DRM-ed material in the form of .ascm files all named the same "URLLink.acsm" In the past, the download dialog box asked if you wanted to open the file in Adobe Digital Editions or save it to a location.

After the latest update today March 11, Firefox does not allow you to open the files in Digital Editions. It goes directly to "Save to" download location. This is not how the .acsm files are supposed to be handles. They all have the same name and are supposed to be opened into Adobe Digital Editions directly.

In Firefox Settings there is a box for - "Applications

Choose how Firefox handles the files you download from the web or the applications you use while browsing."

However, .acsm files do not appear and typing ".acsm" or the filetype name "Adobe Content Server Message" yields nothing inside this box so I cannot get Firefox to open these files with Adobe Digital Editions.

This is beyond annoying. These files are meant to be opened straight by Adobe Digital Editions. I tested it on Chrome and Chrome lets you open them fine.

Either the "Applications Choose how Firefox handles the files you download from the web or the applications you use while browsing." box functionality needs to be fixed to recognize .acsm filetypes or the previous default functionality of allowing me to choose "Open with Adobe Digital Editions" or "Save to" for this filetype needs to be restored.

If there is some other way to get this functionality back in the most current Firefox version, please advise.

Thanks!

Ever since installing firefox on a new pc, I've had the problem where I would click a link or enter a url, and sometimes (not always, about 20% of the time), the page will not load (there is a loading symbol but no page shows up), then it stops loading after about 10-20 seconds and there is no page (when I enter a url from a new tab, there is just a blank tab, when I click a link on a webpage, I just remain on the webpage), but when I re-enter the url or re-click the link, it does work. So happens for all links of the website I'm trying to visit.

To summarize: I click a link, and sometimes it loads for 10-20s and then just stops, and when I click again, it works.

Any help is appreciated!

The behavior of FireFox saving PDF files has changed. I am using WIN10, FireFox 98.0.1 and have it setup to use windows default application and always ask where to save for PDFs.

BEFORE the problem: The PDF opens in Acrobat Pro IX. After clicking save I would be asked, where to save. I select the location to save the PDF. Then after this, subsequent PDFs downloaded would be saved to the last saved location. This process would repeat for a new website PDF load and save. This is the behavior I want now.

NOW with the problem: The PDF opens in Acrobat Pro IX. 1. Immediately, after a reboot, the save icon on Adobe is grayed out. I select save as and point to the desired directory. 2. For any subsequent PDF opened, the Adobe save icon is available. Files are saved to the desktop.

Please note I believe I once did get a popup asking where to save and I know I selected desktop. Since that selection I am no longer asked where to save.

Please note I have looked and tried some of the suggestions at: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cant-download-or-save-files#w_choose-a-different-download-folder

but some of this advice needs to be updated for the new FireFox version--ex no JSON file is found at the file location covered in the advice.

I believe this issue started after the last FireFox update. Please help me restore behavior listed above under “BEFORE the problem”. Thanks.

When I try to download a file, the download always fails. This happens no matter what website I'm downloading the file from (see screenshot 1).

This started happening within the last week or so. We are running versions 97 and above.

Firefox is configured to always ask where to save files to (see screenshot 2).

Write permissions to the user's Downloads folder is denied for reasons unrelated to this issue (see screenshot 3). When I re-enable write permissions, the problem goes away.

Has anyone else run into this problem? Is write access to the Downloads folder required now, even if Firefox is not configured to save files to that location? Thanks!

I've had a problem recently with some sites (such as support.apple.com, but also others) loading very slowly or not loading at all.

  • Restarting Firefox fixes it for a short while
  • I've tried changing to No Proxy from Use System Proxy Settings - this, like restarting, helped for a short while
  • Unchecking DNS over HTTPS: DID resolve the problem but I'm curious as to why. I enable it with Safari with no problem.

Firefox is becoming more and more buggy and more unstable using more than 8Gb of ram in either the apps processes or if not there then in the background processes and when you look into the firefox task manager it reports it is using no more than maybe 100 MB of ram the only way to stop it is to close the one process that is using all the memory. when i investigate using the about:memory function it tries to tell me that it is an extension using the memory but if i disable the 2 extensions i use and reload the measure memory it still is using exactly the same amount of memory. is there any sort of fix for this because i am getting sick of having to have the windows task manager open to close the rogue process every time i use my browser
