HI. I'm using Firefox Browser 92.0 (64-bit). This version and previous ones that I have used were set to open pdf in Firefox (Applications, "Choose how Firefox handles the files you download from the web or the applications you use while browsing."). However, when I use a Private Window, the last couple of versions (9x.0 and maybe 89.0, I can't remember now) go to a history loop when I open a pdf and try go back repeatedly. An example. Let's say I visited page A.html, clicked on a link to page B.html and then clicked on a link to C.pdf. When I hit the Back button twice, instead of getting pages B.html and A.html in that order, I get this:

B.html C.pdf

and if I continue to press Back button I get into a loop

B.html C.pdf B.html C.pdf ...

This behaviour does not occur in ordinary window, just in Private Window.

Can you, please, help me? Thanks, Miško

After installing a new firefox download, I cannot log in to investorvillage.com. The last time this happened, I somehow fixed it by clearing out everything I can find, but not this time. Either I have forgotten something, or something has changed. This does not happen with Chrome. Ideas?

If I go to https://www.becu.org the page displays as expected and all is well. If I click on the "Online Banking" tab, it's supposed to take me to a login page and this no longer works. If I right-click on the tab, I can open it in a new private window without issue. What happened, why or how did the behavior change? Thanks for any insight, nearly ready to switch to chrome.

I'm having an issue with the video control bar on YouTube (i.e. the thing that has the play/pause button, shows the video progress, etc.).

Quite recently it has changed: the play/pause button is no longer there; the only way to pause is to click on the video itself. More troublingly, the control bar no longer appears if i hover my cursor over the video; this means that there is no way to see how far along in the video I am without pausing it. This is only a problem I have been having with Firefox; both Chrome and Edge seem to be working fine, so I assume it is a problem with Firefox rather than YouTube itself.

Is there some setting I can change somewhere that will fix this issue?

Windows Does Not Launce firefox.exe

1) As of Sept 9, Windows will not launch firefox.exe, either by clicking on the filename or clicking on a shortcut to it. It says there's no protocol - see attached image. However, if I rename firefox.exe to something different (firefo.exe), it will launch from clicking on the filename and clicking on a shortcut link.

2) In addition, In Windows settings, Firefox is set as default for file types http & https and for browser. Clicking on any http or https file or link ends up with the same result (see attached image).

3) In Firefox settings, Firefox doesn't recognize that it is my default browser. Each time Firefox is launched I receive the message that it isn't, I select to make it, and it remains as if it is not my default browser (see attached image).

Ran admin command scannow /sfc. Errors found and fixed, without resolving the above problems.

Uninstalled Firefox, reinstalled without resolving the above problems.

HOWEVER, if I select Edge as my default browser, Edge allows itself to recognize that is my default browser and will launch any http & https link, as well as open itself when I click on the Edge executable file.

Any ideas how to correct this behavior in Windows 10?

Lately I've been having trouble with Firefox freezing up, forcing me to close it, when I reopen it it won't reload the tabs from my previous session (despite that box being ticked in my settings), this is getting very annoying, I would ideally like to tell someone at Mozilla about this directly but they don't appear to have provided a means of doing that.

I'm running version v92.0 (64) on ubuntu 21.04. Firefox would crash upon opening when signed in. It would stay active enough for me to disable the extensions & themes. After doing that it still crashed. I tried going into Troubleshooting mode and it would still crash. I went into Troubleshooting mode and did a refresh. It was still crashing. Finally I signed out of my mozilla sync account and the browser has stayed active long enough for me to type this report.

I've submitted all crash reports in about:crashes, and I'm not really sure what to do next.

Perhaps a local version of the Mozilla Sync profile has been corrupted? if so, is there a way to remove it and pull down the "sync"ed version from Mozilla's servers? What if the version on Mozilla's server's has been corrupted? should I back up the local profile (wherever it is) before removing?

I hope I've given enough information. Please let me know if you need further, more specific information.
