Yahoo! for email. Tab indicates that there are unread/ new messages but all have been read. I use Firefox in private mode. Closed the browser (private mode is supposed to delete all cookies & cache), restarted my laptop, when back to mail, it shows more unread messages. Am I missing something? Being a little OCD, this is upsetting me. Any suggestions? Help?

Trello has stopped loading on Win 7. No error messages that are in my face, just has an hourglass (or equivalent) symbol. Last time this happened, two updates ago, I disabled an add on, and it worked again, even after re-enabling it. Last update I had the problem again, but disabling the same aforementioned add-on didn't fix it. Disabling all add-ons did not fix it. Then I got the update today. I still have the issue. I'm on 86.0.1

At the moment I only use Trello on Win 7. I don't go anywhere else on the internet. I'm writing this support request from a Win 10 box.

I'm trying to use Firefox more instead of Internet Explorer I can't find a way to see a map or translation without going to a new tab.

I tried "To Google Translate" (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/features/translate/) but when I click on "Translate" in the context menu, the extension launches a new tab. I don't want a new tab because it distracts me from my goal of understanding the original website.

What is the best way to see a translation of some text or map of a location mentioned on a website in Firefox while remaining on the current page?

I found some old resources but all of them are no longer unavailable.

While on the Home page of YouTube, when I select a video to watch, I am taken to Latest YouTube posts instead. Sometimes if I use the browser back arrow I may be taken to the selected video or to the Home page. To watch a video I have to open it in a new tab.

I only have this issue on the Firefox browser. I have done everything to fix the issue. I have cleared the browser history and cookies. I have reinstalled the browser. All this to no avail. This has been going on for over a month now.

Normally when I open the file explorer in firefox to either save or upload an image or file from or to my computer, it shows the "recent files" folder under my quick access menu.

This is still visible elsewhere, in my normal windows explorer, but seems to have disappeared from Firefox itself.

The other pinned items still show up so I am not sure why it's gone or how to get it to show up again, and googling for help is somewhat difficult as I mostly get results that are proving to be too non-specific to narrow down. Any help would be appreciated.

ETA 3/15/21 It looks like this problem is not exclusive to Firefox as it happens in any other browser including Brave and Discord as well, despite the windows explorer itself still showing my recent folders, so I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is a Microsoft problem following the recent W10 update, not a Firefox problem.

Trying to synch from old mac mini to new mac mini. I get the confirming email to my conected email account almost instantly with the synch security code, when I type in the code, I get an error message saying incorrect code. I've also tried signing in on the new mac mini using the password that still works on the old mac mini. It always says incorrect password.

I have tried every way including copying the entire library folder to the new mac, none of the methods work. HELP!

I am using Firefox 86 on MacOS 10.15.7. I also use Yabai to enable "sloppy focus" behavior. This means any window that the mouse moves over is given focus, but is not automatically raised on top of other windows.

Firefox appears to automatically raise its windows any time they receive focus. This is undesirable if I have several windows open on one screen and they overlap each other to some degree. Moving the mouse across the screen pops up each window up to the top of the stack as the mouse passes over them (because Yabai gives each one focus as the mouse passes over it). Note that I am not clicking on anything, just moving the mouse across the screen.

Most Mac applications do not do this. Is there a way to turn off this behavior in Firefox?

There is a real need to restore the classic behaviour of firefox on closing, i mean: closing firefox -> prompt asking [save and quit] [quit] [cancel] then the behaviour: save and quit -> save open tabs and reopen them at next firefox startup quit -> close fierfox and delete current session, fresh firefox session at next startup it was also possible to enable it by the "showQuitWarning" in about:config

At the actual status you can only choose between:

always reopen previous session  : so when you close firefox with 20 open tabs that you dont need anymore you will find all them open again when you reopen firefox and then you have to close them one by one or manually start a new session

or

do not reopen previous session : so when you close firefox and you have some open tabs you must remeber to manually restore previous session on next startup because otherwise you will lose those tabs

So, why don't just reintroduce the classic behaviour and let the user choose what's better? Seems legit for a browser said to be open

Try to ask users if more feedback are needed

Linux Mint several versions, Windows 10.

Microphone permissions do not get "remembered" properly. Microphone permissions exceedingly difficult to navigate through, to enable the microphone.

Have endured this one for several years, off and on, multiple versions of Firefox.

For some reason, Firefox prevents GLOBAL permissions for the microphone, and instead, causes us to have to chase down a specific site to give specific-site permission to, in order to use the microphone.

Even then, it doesn't work right, often enough to be problem. It is intermittent in occasionally "forgetting" that approval was given to a site. It also does not allow manual override in the form of typing in a site, and giving that site permission, without first being connected to that site, and using the bizarrely-arcane system of clicking on a small icon on the address bar to include the site, and again, this does not always work well, anyway.

Multiple interlocking difficulties/issues, one result, no mic at the time it's needed to communincate with someone, real-time.

Is there any way, PLEASE, to simply provide a GLOBAL switch for the microphone, to simply turn it on, for everybody, and everything? Something in about:config I could go to, and tell it to OVERRIDE all other considerations, and just let the microphone alone, and let me use it?

I compartmentalize my browsing to a significant degree, and the sites I visit with Firefox are quite limited (most of which is associated with a Google Voice account, but not every last bit of it), and even then, it is so fragmented and buggy, that I find myself again and again, talking to someone who cannot hear me, even though I'd jumped through every single hoop previously, and had everything working previously, until reverted inexplicably back to its bad old ways, silently, without warning, without advising me that something had changed. Private browsing is disabled, but I'm running several privacy extensions.

But again, it sure would be nice if I could just find, and invoke, a GLOBAL ALLOW switch for the microphone, set it one time, and forget about it thenceforth and forevermore.

Please do not refer me to the existing hoops to jump through. Please do not refer me to the little security icon in the address bar. Please do not refer me to any single web page which I must allow without allowing permission for ALL web pages. My familiarity with this end of the issue is beyond extensive. Been there. Done that. Over and over and over. And it works, and then it breaks once again.

To sum up: Please provide a GLOBAL OVERRIDE for the microphone to turn it on and then forget about it.

My very kindest thanks, in advance.

Hi,

I'm new to Firefox multi-account containers and I want to now put all already synced data (all my browser history, logins, bookmarks, ...) into the "personal" container. Is this possible?

If it is, there is a secondary question, is it possible to turn off synchronization of a specific container on another device?

Use case: I want to have a work container that contains all work related data and a personal container that contains all my personal data. I want to be able to access the work container on my personal laptop, but don't want to necessarily access my personal container on my work laptop. I don't really want all that stuff to be synced to my work laptop.

This is the weirdest problem. I am a uni student and I use firefox to watch my online courses. We mainly use google meets and zoom.

Today for some weird reason I can't hear when someone is speaking, although all other sounds come through ok. I had to use another browser. Youtube plays fine for example even the sounds in meets when someone logs in or out are playing fine but no voices. I did check some audio settings both from meets and windows and everything seems to be set correctly.
