Firefox lost all my logins/passwords. This happened last year and now it happens again. I've tried to find the old logins.json file and of course it does not work with it. It is empty. I'm using linux and there is no problem with any antivirus, it is simply a Firefox 'classical' error!

WHY is this happening? What is in the mind of the programmer responsible for this error? I can't understand why is he unable to keep a single file intact?

Why Mozilla is blaming the user for not having a backup. Firefox is messing this file, not the user! Why don't you fix Firefox and stop blaming the user? Why don't you simply FIX THE PROBLEM? You are "working on it" for years. Is it rocket science to JUST LET THE FILE ALONE?

WHAT is with the new update that RUINED the browser with crazy unneeded UI CHANGES?? DO NOT NEED flashing tab light EVERY SINGLE PAGE LOAD and even waterfox has CRAPPY DESIGN with BAD DEFAULT SCROLLING. HOW TO FIX THIS NON-SENSE??

TRYING AGAIN MANY TIMES SAME ERROR. NEVER seen a ridiculous error such as this ANY OTHER SITE like here! WHAT IS GOING ON?

SAME FORUM WEBSITE that stalls on loading and ONLY SHOWS BLANK PAGE if u click favorites window or type in the address and go to it RANDOMLY and you have to reload, NOT EVEN SHOWING A BACK BUTTON to the new tab page is a way strange bug never seen any other browser ahah THANK

What is this ludicrous FLASHING TAB INSANITY every time you LOAD A FREAKING PAGE in the new firefox theme UI WHERE are the reasonable themes that do not GO INSANE EVERY PAGE LOAD that is bloody MADNESS HAHA! ALSO how to fix the address bar autofill THIS IS THE ONLY MAJOR BROWSER that does not autofill to subpage that you frequent WITH BOOKMARK AND ALWAYS TOP LEVEL DOMAIN ON PAGE, very silly and can VERY USE A FIX GET THIS BROWSER up to speed as the other ones THAT SHOULD BE DEFAULT CLEARLY! ADD ON FOR THAT EVEN TO MAKE A FIX. YES THANKS.

I have a HP laptop 15-BA009DX with a Firefox problem. I noticed that the newest Firefox release takes one of my backed up bookmarks that I restore - causing the folders to "leak" the bookmarks out of the folders. The result is a list at the bottom of the bookmarks menu containing several hundred bookmarks. It seems to only happen when you restore a bookmark .json file. I Loaded the Extended Support Release (ESR) version on my laptop and discoveredf that it doesn't have this bookmark "leak" problem.

I tried to install the ESR version on my other (standby) laptop in place of the "regular" version to fix this bookmark folder "leaking" but the ESR version appears to not completely install. I can't go to any web page and I can't access the Tools > Options page. When I select the "Options" choice, it doesn't do anything. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall both the ESR version and the "regular" version several times with the same result. I frequently get an install error message similar to "VCRuntime140_1.dll not found - Reinstall can fix this".

I am familiar with computers but I'm not a techie. Installing this should be a no-brainer, but I am baffled why it won't correctly install and work.

Any Idea what is causing this problem? Thanks for your kind reply.

Firefox on Debian Linux with no modules or extensions enabled keeps installing a windows virus in it's cache. Other browsers don't do this so it's something with firefox.

Well this was a *shocking* disappointment.

After 18 months without broadband I tried to update my Linux Mint system.

Including Firefox which I've used forever.

And when I launch Firefox the first time I find it is almost unrecognizable and my previous configuration has been completely obliterated: no preferences, no add-ons, no extensions, my history is gone and all of my several thousand bookmarks; the screen looks like a bad parody of Chrome (another toy I avoid). I see a fleeting and unintelligible message having something to do with Sync, about which I could care less and have no use for. But, drowning, I grasp at any faint hope... except I can't get into their marvelous Sync service. One of your myriad, useless help pages refers to some circly link icon which is nowhere on my screen. So I stumble around trying to find a way into this sign-up and wind up in a perfect catch-22 -- the login requires an email address for an account I don't have and so rejects it because I don't have the account for which I'm trying to sign up . I finally found my way in through these forums but still don't know what I've signed up for and if it's any help.

So they have me completely buggered. Are they really going to make me start all over again?

Hi I get the error above after the pc tries to connect to https://www.iptorrents.eu/t it goes to https://iptorrents.me/t then tries to go to the login page, but it just circles and after several minutes I get the error above. I have used this site for years. Not sure if a recent Windows upgrade has caused this, nut I have checked for malware using Malwarebytes. Re booted and no joy. I have installed Firefov as my default browser. Rebooted. Tried agin and no joy.

HELP!!!!!

When trying to get to paypal.com, I get stacked at the VERIFICATION (in French) display and can't get to the site. I've called paypal and tried from CHROME and it worked alright. I've changed the password,I've deleted the cookies in CLIQZ but can't get pass VERIFICATION. I must go to CHROME for any transactions with paypal. This didn't happen before (a few days ago). I am writing to you because of Mozilla's new add-on policies. I am especially focusing on the point: Encryption – standard, in-browser HTTPS – is now always required when communicating with remote services. In the past, this was only required when transporting sensitive information. While I am supporting this new rule, I would like to ask, if there is any chance to be excluded from this policy. I am the developer of Domain Country, an add-on which allows you to retrieve the geographical information (and other data) about a given domain. To retrieve this data, Domain Country uses the API https://ip-api.com/. Unfortunately, this API requires a paid key to be accessible via HTTPS (Example URL: https://ip-api.com/json/mozilla.org). While I am very frustrated about this solution, I still decided to implement it, because I could not find another free API service. To still ensure that users are protected against Man-in-the-middle-attacks, I decided to manually validate the data after it is received (the code for Domain Country is open-source. This is the line, I'm talking about: https://github.com/Myzel394/domaincountry/blob/master/src/apis/fetchDomainInformation.ts#L94). Domain Country will also be continuously updated to ensure the user's safety. As a student with only low income it is also impossible for me to pay for https://ip-api.com/.

I hope you understand my problems and consider excluding Domain Country from the new add-on policy.

This is becoming more annoying than ever with Firefox. Goggle will not launch sites, or launches with blank white window.

After every update, my Fire Fox browser tells me that the version I used isn't supported anymore, forcing me to open a new browser. I lose everything! I can't keep doing this nearly everyday! I keep trying to ask for help but no one will help me! No matter what I do this issue continues. I thought it was because of my laptop but it's not. It's Fire Fox, which sucks because I loved using this browser.

I refreshed firefox. When I tried to get into my other platforms some how I am now a mobile user. So I tried to refresh firefox again. Only to discover refresh will not work because firefox thinks I am mobile. I went to config reset the two items back to original settings- help and still I am stuck as a mobile user. I am not sure what else to do
