There are a million support articles on this and other sites that show all the steps to importing your passwords from Chrome to Firefox, and they usually include a screenshot that is identical to the one I've included, except for they also have a box you can check to import passwords. I successfully imported my cookies, browsing history, and bookmarks, but there was no passwords box for me to check and I haven't been able to import my passwords. Why is it that option not showing up for me?

I would like to restrict which extensions can access data / run on which web sites. For instance I would like to restrict all extensions when I am using my bank's website, I would allow add blocking on all sites but I would not allow extensions that access my data on ebay, paypal, gmail, etc. Is there a way to do this per extension and per web site?

I would like to make a bookmark file with all the tabs in all the open windows, organised by window. The final goal is to be able to open all Firefox windows with all their respective tabs in another browser, like Vivaldi; alternatively, to time stamp various such bookmark files, and open all the window with all their tabs I had open in Firefox, say, 8 months ago. Please have a look at the screenshot attached: it seems that the menu button Bookmarks → Bookmarks All Tabs makes bookmarks only of the tabs of the upper-most window. Thank you for any help.

I like to open all urls and links in a new tab because then I don't loose the original tab's contents. So I have set browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInTabs to true. Alas if I click on a link in the history library it still replaces the actual tab. I know that I can do a middle click or a right click to get a new tab but I would appreciate if I could set the standard behavior to open a new tab. Is there a setting for this?

It's good to have those built-in shortcuts, but it's stupid you can't modify them. When I use this website I can't input the division sign by pressing / on the keypad because it's the shortcut for Quick Find. I guess this is because the place to input is not a normal text box like in WolframAlpha , but part of the whole webpage(?). Add the function to customise shortcuts is much easier than let Firefox recognise and deal with this situation, I think. In fact, most software supports customising shortcuts, so I'm surprised to find there's no way for Firefox to do that.

Hello,
One of my last Crash ID report : 49e3c347-5deb-4659-b9d1-281b00200514
I experiment this problem on two of my computers. Both are running Debian Buster. If I don't forget to quit Firefox before shutting down my computer, then I believe I won't have problem the next time I switch on my computer and launch Firefox.
However, as most of the time, if I shutdown my computer with Firefox still being open, it seems that Debian Buster doesn't close properly Firefox. In fact, if Firefox was still open when I switch off my computer, I can be sure (100% of the time) that at the next startup, Firefox won't be able to launch the previous session and I'll have to "restore my last tabs".
No other software seem to suffer from the way Debian Buster switch off. Only Firefox.
Thank you for any help one could give me,
Regards, Thatoo

This also happens in Private Browsing and Safe mode (addons disabled) in Firefox 75.0 and 76.0.1 (different user profiles) This issue does not occur in other browsers I have installed (Chromium, Iridium, Google C, and Pale Moon)
Everything was working fine a few hours ago, I have made no hardware, software or config changes.
EDIT: Just noticed the edit button, added a cropped screenshot of the issue.

My Folders Pane has entirely disappeared from Gmail. If I move my cursor to the left of the screen I DO NOT get a double arrow that allows me to retrieve the pane. I am NOT missing individual folders; I am missing the whole pane. I attach screenshot.
The folders pane is NOT missing from a different email app I sometimes use - Fastmail
My gmail account is working in Chrome on my android phone and android tablet. The problem is only in Mozilla on this computer.
I am running Linux Mint 19.2 Tina with Ubuntu 18.04 base bionic, Cinnamon 4.2.3. Restarting the computer and Firefox does not help.
Any help you can provide will be much appreciated. Maybe the answer is to uninstall and then reinstall Firefox and Thunderbird? Would prefer something easier.
Thanks!!!!

Hello,
My time is wrong in Firefox. When I see the time stamps of my productivity on any social or business site, they are about 4 hours ahead. In other browsers (Chrome & Edge), everything is fine. In Windows, my time is properly set. This includes my Time Zone in Control Panel as well.
I have uninstalled Firefox, restarted, and did a fresh install. I am having the same issue.

I can't watch Amazon Prime videos using Firefox 76.0 - 32 bit on Linux Mint 19.3 - 32bit. I do appreciate that this became a long standing battle, judging by the archived material but has the towel now been thrown in? Root cause seems to be that the Widevine plugin has been withdrawn from Firefox and that being so, there must be a good reason.
When the question was archived with a tick was placed on the best answer. That the Widevine plugin can no longer be added from within Firefox, suggests to me that it is now game over. Am I being too pessimistic?
I don't want work-arounds that never seem to last long in this area, ideally I am looking for a permanent fix on the lines that Google will co-operate and promise not to move the goal-posts without supplying the information needed to Mozilla in order to update Firefox first, so that the Widevine plugin can be made available once again and all be covered under Linux updates.
An outright refusal in the above assessment, if correct, would at least demonstrate that the matter was political and that the solution to it is necessarily political too. Something that could likely gain traction in Europe at least.
Any reply welcome, thanks.

I've been a loyal Firefox user for many years. I've never given up on FF regardless the compatibility, stability and performance issues it had. I trusted my 'pal' Firefox ... until recently when i noticed it silently removed a non-mainstream news site from the Top Site list. That broke my heart ...
The question is, can you explain yourself?

I was running just "regular" Firefox on my Windows laptop. Yesterday my help desk had me upgrade to Firefox Extended Support Release to install a corporate email security certificate. I did not know when I installed this version of Firefox that it would overwrite my existing browser, and when it did, I lost all of my add-ins, extensions, bookmarks, etc. I'm hoping to be able to restore my old profile with all of the existing data I had. If I have to "downgrade" to regular Firefox I think that's fine since I just needed the ESR to install the security cert and that's complete now.
I looked on the about:profiles page and I have two other profiles, default and june19 (I presume the latter is from June 2019?), but I don't know how to determine which one is the preferred one. When I clicked Launch profile in new browser, it instructed me to create a new profile to protect my information and I hesitated to do that because I'm trying to restore an old profile, not create a new one. In case you can't tell, I'm not an advanced software user, so give instructions like you would to a 5-year-old or your grandma... lol. Thanks in advance!

I use mostly Chrome browser but it's such a resource, memory and storage hog I've been using FF more. However, while spell check technically works, it's simply terrible and frustrating to use. With Chrome, I hardly had to add words to my dictionary while with FF/TB many essential basic words are flagged.
I read some other posts where FF flags most words, that's not my gripe. The dictionary is pathetic. I can't even find any add-ons/extensions that provide a greater vocabulary.
Are there some tips and tricks besides adding words one can use here?

IIRC, in v60.x ESR the icon at top used to display bookmarks by default, and you could also look at history. Perhaps I'm remembering it wrong (It's the icon that looks like 3 books with the 4th leaning to the left.
In v68.8.0esr which is now installed it shows "Recent Highlights". I want to get the old behavior back. The following will remove the recent highlights (except the title "recent highlights"). But the bookmarks are not shown unless I click on Bookmarks.
#appMenu-library-recentHighlights { display: none !important; }
How do I get the old behavior back?
I know I can add an extra icon (display bookmarks menu), but I'd still need the other one to access history. Perhaps if there were a History icon and a bookmarks icon, that would do as I don't use sync, and there is already the downloads icon, and I don't need the Pocket List.
