I received this threat message on the weekend. I am very concerned...

In Firefox 46 (and earlier) there was a 'load when selected' option which I can not find in Firefox 47 beta. When this option was selected a startup only the tab selected would be loaded, other tabs would only load when they were selected.

I had deselected this option in Firefox 46, but since using a Firefox 47 beta this option seems to have been selected, and I have been unable to find how to deselect it again. Is there a way to deselect the option in Firefox 47 beta, through about:config perhaps? Any help would be welcome.

Today Firefox suggested to do "refresh", said it would not effect bookmarks, but when did it, wiped out all my bookmarks. Followed directions in support posts - under "Import and Backup", "Restore", selected latest date, Ok to replace, and then get "Unable to process the backup file". An old gray beard with limited computer skills requests help.

Hello. My plus sign has disappeared - the one you click on to open another tab. I did try downloading some firefox apps but then removed them. I cant work out how to fix it. Can someone help please? Screen shot attached. thanks,

I had selected "Don't open tabs until selected" but all of a sudden they are all opening on startup. The "Don't open tabs until selected" option is not there anymore when I go to Options. What can I do? This is urgent because I have multiple tabs open and they're all going strong at the same time and some of them are YouTube videos!

Mozilla recently sent out instruction on how to engage Bitlocker i.e. > System > Security > Bitlocker > Drive Encryption > Remember your Recovery Key & Password. The only problem is that Windows 10 doesn't have any of them any longer or at least not on the desktop so how do we get around this problem? From previous posts I see that From Vista Premium onward this problem seems to have existed. I am a 74 year old male and not all that smart. Thanks William.

I am an old computer enthusiast and keep the computers running on a no charge basis for a retirement community. Many of the computers are old, running Windows XP, Vista and Win7, but have a sentimental value to the retired owners who don't want to upgrade. I pretty much have to install Firefox to obtain a top-notch browser - which I also prefer. When I install or reinstall Firefox, I can not now continue without providing an email address and password. Most of the retirees have nothing to sync to, some don't even use email, and some are on a dial-up connection. Their computers are mostly used for surfing on the Internet and playing senior games.

So far, when I install Firefox, I disable syncing, I have been using my email address and making up a password. As long as I get Firefox working everybody is happy but I am sure that doing it this way can not continue for ever,

As I see it, I need a way to bypass the requirement for an email address and password so I can just install a working Firefox browser on a senior's old computer. I assume it would be something similar to having a Microsoft local account. If there is already a fix for this, I could not find it. I thank you. geogul

I have a google mail account. The Google Contacts section has a Notes field. That field is not usable with Firefox. It works in Internet Explorer, Google Chrome. I prefer Mozilla Firefox and have used you for a long time. For awhile I went with Google Chrome but had so many issues I came back. Please -- is it possible to fix this problem? I'd be so very grateful. When you use the notes field, placing the cursor in the field, the field disappears! There appears a tiny box that nothing shows up in. it's untype -able.....everything else works but this field. Thanks.....

After downloading Firefox update 47, I cannot zoom in or out - when I try to press zoom in or zoom out, nothing changes. How can this be fixed? The screen stays at 100% even when I try to change it by both clicking the "-" and "+" buttons on the right and left, and when I try to zoom in and out using the "view" control panel.

I received notice from Firefox about its latest update. After completing the update (47.0), the cache will not clear to '0' as it has done for years. I went to about:cache and saw a 'cache2' that will not clear 62kb. I know this is not much, but I do not like the fact that it will no longer completely zero. Then I noticed a folder called 'doomed'.

Can cache2 be disabled? Is there someway to completely clear cache2? Is 'doomed' malware?

Hello, Version 47.0 of Firefox has just been installed on my PC and I find that it is impossible to change the magification on the screen. It seems to be permanently set on 100% and neither the minus or plus buttons do anything.

Ever since the release of version 3, or slightly before, Firefox has continued to crash and I can't seem to find an answer. I wish that I was trolling or making a joke, but this is the honest truth.

Systems I ran it on: Socket 939 AMD Athlon x2 2GB ram 500GB HDD (Seagate) (Can't remember GPU) Win XP

Socket AM3 AMD Phenom II x6 1045t 8GB ram 1333mhz 1TB HDD (Seagate) HD 5570, 6570, and 7770 Ati Radeon GPUs, aswell as a Nvidia 750ti Win7

Socket AM3+ AMD FX 8350 (8 core, 4ghz) 16GB ram 2100mhz 2*2 TB (Seagate) R9 270x Win 10, and Win7

Symptoms: After a few hours of browsing, watching videos, or simply leaving it idle with 4-5 tabs open causes it to prompt with Unresponsive script errors, become unresponsive and force me to open task manager and force the task to end.

Versions 3 through (now) 40.

Made multiple posts regarding this issue before, but it has gone unanswered.

Is it my usage that forces me to use other browsers? Is it just me imagining things that Mozilla Suite, Seamonkey, original Firefox(up until version 2) worked absolutely fine no problems? When version 3 came out, I used Lolifox for a while until they stopped managing it (before version 3) and it, too, worked flawlessly.

I'm legitimately concerned, because I do web development. I can't be constrained under 4 tabs, and I can't have a main used browser be so inconsistent when trying to develop for all browsers in mind.

Checked: Video card driver is up to date (Unsure about the past, but definitely is now, although I'm pretty sure it was in the past, too.) Hard drive has no errors or fragmentation. Recently reformatted, fresh install of Windows 7. Same issue previously from version 35-38 on previous OS, Windows 10. Other browser work correctly, don't become unresponsive, nor do they crash.

In January 2016 I was switched from outlook.com to the new outlook.live.com. I had been unable to set outlook.com as the default mailto. Here is the thread I started in 2015.

Once again I went through the motions of trying to set outlook.live.com as the default mailto and this is the result I get. Am i fighting a losing battle, or has anyone figured out how to make this work?

I am running MAC OSX 10.11.5 . In firefox it says my flash player version 21.0.0.213 is out of date and to update. I follow the directions to via the "check plugins" page which takes me to the Flash update page. I download the DMG (Version 21.0.0.242) and it fails as attached. I go to the troubleshooting page and it is circular. I try and do a full unistall of Flash and there is a broken link to the uninstall DMG. Any help would be appreciated
