Windows 10 updated and we lost our ability to choose which user account to open, now we open wife's homepage, with my bookmarks dropdown what is the fix?

I have tried reinstalling Firefox and Yosemite, repair permissions, disable all plugins/add-ons, but still no success. Every other program and browser work. Only Firefox is having this problem. Loading any twitter home page (i.e. profile of twitter accounts) make Firefox 43.0.4 64B edition go in the infamous "Not Responding" status for 1-5 seconds. This can be extremely annoying when I have to check a particular tweet feed often.
I have tried EVERYTHING (i.e. disabling add-ons, clearing history, caches and cookies, restoring default profile, etc.) specified at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-hangs-or-not-responding#w_speed-up-session-restore, not to avail.
Any known fix?

My Extentions keep going missing on FireFox 43.0.4 i'm using windows 10.
I've tried deleting the file extentions.json but when i do the extentions return for a while then disappear again.

Firefox 43.0.1 is practically unusable, so I have been forced to migrate to Chrome.
FF43 seems to have finally gotten the memory usage problem under control, but with the price that Firefox is now unable to open more than 2 or 3 tabs before becoming unable to open any more. This happens when restoring a previous set of tabs. The first few tabs viewed open without any problems, but when I click over to the third or fourth one I start to see blank screens. After that nothing happens.
(I am using WinXP SP3. I am not using "Nvidia Forceware Network Access Manager." The past 20 versions of FF have all had memory overflow issues when many tabs were open, but they all remained usable. This version 43 is the first one which is basically unusable.)

I have an 2002 W XP and 2005 W7pro (formerly Vista) but both have issues from heavy use, missing keys, etc. So I acquired 2 2009 computers, one W7, one very nice one but unfortunately W 10. I know there is not much hope to get any cooperation with W10, but is there any hope I can get GoogleVoiceAndVideoSetup.exe to work on this W 7 pro machine with the big beautiful screen?
Do I have to run an older version of both FF and Flash to create the plug in first? Please help me because we are usually without phone lines for months in the winter and we have no cell signal here. This way I can call ATT from the firestation/library to tell them the lines are down! (This usually takes an hr call for 5-14 days until it is taken seriously here. We actually miss coin phones here!
Or is there any other non-credit card phone we can use online to call and receive from phone numbers? The reason I use FF is because I do not want to be forced to use my browser the way I want it to work. Please fix this flaw and let me set the new tab homepage again. 43.0.1 broke the New Tab Override add on which historically fixed this weakness/bug in stock FF.

I've tried to make Firefox (version 43.0.1) my default browser on Windows10 (version 1511 Build 150586.36), but the "default apps" page in the control centre doesn't give me any options beside Microsoft Edge and looking for an app in the store. Searching the store does not yield any results for Firefox either.
I have been using Windows 10 for some months now, and always had Firefox as the default; however, since an update about a week ago, the option simply vanished.
FIrefox works fine otherwise, but opening links from mails or documents automatically uses Edge without giving me any other option.
