hello i have problem firefox crash when i watch youtube video and i want to jump to 2:10 or whatever i click and firefox has stopped working

In the latest edition of FireFox 3, my ability to log-in or provided feedback to forums at various website (e.g. newspapers: WSJ, local) became disabled. Either the log-in/feedback buttons don't show or they don't work. I upgraded to FireFox 4, hoping that would solve the problem. It didn't. However, using Chrome, I don't encounter the problem. What has happened to my FireFox browser??
For example, this link (http://www.coloradoan.com/) is the home page of my local paper. The white area, just above the headline box, should contain my profile and picture information, but it's missing. If I use Chrome, it's there. What gives?

That's it. I click on the Firefox icon in the start menu and I get this spurious site popping up with a 13th birthday celebration offering prizes. The rigmarole to register for a prize is unbeleivable and it soon becomes apparent thet tis is nothing to do with Mozilla. I lost a lot of infoo and programs when Windows (XP Professional 32bit) crashed, including my Firefox installation. As soon as I downloaded and re-installed Firefox the short cut takes me straight to the unwanted rubbish!

When I attempt to open Firefox instead of Firefox opening, an error message appears saying "Firefox is already running but isn't responding. To open another window please close the existing Firefox process or restart the system.", but I can't find that process of Firefox in order to kill it, and after restarting the system there is still the problem. I have found an emergency fix to at least get online, and that is to use"Firefox_Profile_Manager" in the start menu's "run" start menu, but the Firefox that then opens is that one doesn't carry over what I had in my bookmarks but starts bookmarks anew.
