My Firefox Options page does not show the np-mswmp.dll as installed. I downloaded the WIndows Media Player plugin from dlldump.com to my downloads folder (XP OS) per your webpage instructions here: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Windows_Media_Player#Installing_the_new_plugin

I changed the about: config flag to True for plugsin.load[etc]. Firefox did not detect the new plugin. I tried to move it to c:\Program Files\Firefox\browser and Windows would not let me. (I could not find a \plugins folder there.) Then I tried to install it by using the gear icon and "Install Add-on from file". Firefox would not let me, said it was corrupt. What gives?

I just reset Firefox because it told me that it was running slow and could be fixed that way. It works perfectly but there is this annoying bar on the bottom of my screen and I don't know what it is. It doesn't have any icons and is only about a cm high. It matches my theme as well, but doesn't go away when I change my theme. I can't figure out how to get rid of it or find someone else with the same problem. Please help! And thank you.

I have a new computer and run Symantec protection on it. When I open Facebook it always says a script is running and asks me what I want to do (continue, debug or end script). Then I can't post pictures of anything on that grey toolbar. When I post just words it stays light grey and if I try to leave the page it says I'm not done, but then posts it anyways... Any help would be appreciated. It only happens on mozilla.

On Nov. 11th I stop getting KimKomando news after receiving it for several years. My first thought they have a software computer problems. So three days go by, still no KK Newsletter. So! I thought I would to download a new link must have lost the old one. I go to her website and start downloading their new link, but about half way thru it, it stops and it tell me that Yahoo Spam as stop the download saying that a 3rd party spam as stopped the download. Yahoo doesn't tell you how to unspam a wanted program or email. So I contact KIMKomando about the problem. She reset the newsletter info to receive a again. I"m still not getting the newsletter. I was thinking that maybe Firefox maybe the 3rd party? it a How do I fix this?

This is one her many ideas the could cause this problem. You may also need to check with your Internet Service Provider if this continues to happen and let them know the newsletters at the addresses above are not SPAM. Hundreds of thousands of subscribers are sent our newsletters daily without issues. They are sent all at once and certain servers may not be able to handle these bulk emails.

I'm asking Firefox how to fix this this spam problem of 3rd party. How do I find that 3rd party?

According to a moderator, the check box to disable javascript is no longer available (at least on Mac OS/X 10.6) They ask what you need it for.

Answer to them: javascript in every open window is a CPU hog, and as a consequence is a battery killer. I monitor CPU use and battery use constantly.

I typically have from 10 to 40 windows open simultaneously (if you have to ask why, you are not a serious computer user). If all of them are running javascript, it kills my battery life (and general system performance). I now use Safari, which lets me turn off javascript and thus reduce system load dramatically, and save battery life.

It is a REALLY STUPID decision to take away control of javascript. Javascript is used mostly for gathering information about the system user (not anything I care to help) and is a waste of my computer CPU load. I would like to turn it off for most windows and keep it on only where it is really necessary (like e-commerce sites).

I continue to use firefox for some browsing (for reasons I won't go into, I like to have multiple browsers).

So keepers of the Firefox design, who made the really stupid decision to take away control of javascript?

David, Ph.D. Computer Science

Apologies for the angry tone of this post, but this makes me angry.
