I'm setting up a new computer, (Windows 11). Currently on a home WIFI network, in UTAH, with another computer, (windows 10). Very soon the new computer will be moving to my retirement home, in Nevada, on a new WIFI network.

Basically, How can I import Firefox bookmarks from another computer that is on the same WIFI network?

For some reason all of a sudden my bookmarks don't show their identification icons that are associated with that web site. Those icons are to the immediate left of the site address. I used to use those colored icons as a quick reference to select the web site I wanted. Being I have MANY bookmarks, those icons to the left were a GREAT help to locating a specific bookmark.

I could locate a bookmark by the web site icon that is shown to the left of the site address. Now that icon just shows a non colored ball with globe in it.
Is there a way to show a earlier date of my bookmarks? Maybe that way I could see the old bookmark menu the way it used to be shown when I accessed my bookmark menu?
Can someone please help. Thank you.

If you go to americangreetings.com, then click on the latest greeting card with ROB LOWE, enter info and then check if everything is OK. When you try to play it, it only plays his voice and there is NO PICTURE AT ALL. Other card will work, but not this one. WHY? It works fine on other browsers I have, but not on FIREFOX! How do I fix this? Richard Bolks [email removed]@aol.com

Hello, editing Bookmarks is a manual process within Firefox Bookmarks. I would like to export sub folders and edit them on my preferred desktop text editors, then re-import said edited Firefox Bookmarks folder.

I have tried Firefox sub folder:

  • dragging and dropping to Desktop, however fails
  • copying/pasting to Desktop, however fails
  • AI promises the world like a conservative politician's gish gallop, but nothing works and wrecks the current setup.

I have exported the entire Bookmaks.html file, however editing html to text, then somehow only text remained without urls. So now I have restored from an old 3rd party's bookmarks and need to clean what Bookmarks are left. Sub folder management would be easier than entire Bookkmarks.html.

As of Updating to 142.0.1 (64 bit, Windows 10) yesterday, the Home Page / New Tab page now has DOZENS of RECOMMENDED STORIES under different Topics, instead of the former more compact and manageable grid or 15 or 18 items.

Under SETTINGS - HOME - RECOMMENDED STORIES it seems you can only toggle RECOMMENDED STORIES ON or OFF.

On the Home / New Tab page itself, you can only Select whether to FOLLOW or BLOCK Topics. The page is now TOO LONG and much TOO BUSY and not worth endlessly Scrolling to find the two or three articles of possible interest.

QUESTION: Where is, or Why is there Not, an Option for the former "Legacy" RECOMOMENDED STORIES? The Alternative is to turn RECOMMENDED STORIES OFF - which defeats the purpose of supporting your News or Advertisers to Support MOZILLA.

The Display Options for SHORTCUTS offers choices of 2 rows, 3 rows, etc ... Why Not an Option for RECOMMENDED STORIES limiting to a fixed number as well ?

Thank you for your consideration ...

I moved to the Firefox flatpack after the Debian version couldn't display the code inspector/ web developer tools anymore (it was blank amid other likely javascript-based rendering errors). I only include this context in case some one else has the issue and searches for it.

I want to sync all my tabs from the Debian version to the flatpack version and similar to this solved issue I cannot access those tabs from the firefox view. However I am also unable to access these tabs from the sidebar. I am only able to access these tabs from the account menu but this would have me open each tab individually which is not feasible for me.

Is there a way to fix the "Check your internet connection If you’re using a firewall or proxy, check that Firefox has permission to access the web." error that comes up in both the Tabs from other devices sidebar and Firefox View menu?

I have contacted Microsoft. After testing the link/page loads in Edge, Chome (with and without addins same in ff) and Brave. But does not load in FF (with addon's disabled) nor in Private browsing FF (no addins obviously) they said to reach out to FireFox for support. See below for email exchange: FROM MS (most recent reply):

Thank you for your response. We hope you are doing well. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration this issue has caused, especially with the unexpected autoplay of music and the inability to exit the slideshow in Firefox. We completely understand how disruptive this can be, particularly in quiet environments or when you're on the go. Based on your detailed testing across browsers, it does appear that this issue is isolated to Firefox. Since the same content works as expected in Chrome (even with ad blockers enabled), the problem may be related to a recent Firefox. As the issue appears to be specific to Firefox, while the same functionality works as expected in other browsers like Chrome (even with ad blockers enabled). We genuinely want to help resolve this, but since the issue is browser-specific and not reproducible outside of Firefox, we kindly recommend reaching out to the Firefox Support Team for further assistance. They may be able to identify any recent updates, settings, or compatibility concerns that could be affecting the page behavior. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience and are grateful for your understanding.

MY EMAIL TO THEM (in response to them saying try in edge private etc): Apparently this is a FIREFOX only issue?

I tried in edge (regular, not private) and it plays the stupid slideshow with music just fine, and I can get out of it and view the regular memory page that I want (Music really!? What if you’re viewing while someone around you is asleep? Or otp in public??? Smh) Chrome – WITH Adblockplus and Ublock Origin ON it works (not in private) > weblink gyazo video of it working with ublock and abp enabled…. https://gyazo.com/2afbdf7e27357a375ca7613b197f17ce Firefox – with adblock plus off, ublock off, and ghostery OFF does not work > weblink gyazo video of it just refreshing grey, black grey black and goes nowhere forever https://gyazo.com/8da9258f36457901df66f99e87fe7560 Firefox – in private browsing (no addons) – does not work > weblink gyazo video of it just refreshing grey, black forever https://gyazo.com/f9119907e5127ede48797d9eacb1fed6 Since attaching a video to an email would be very large.. hope you can click outside links 😉
