I have some custom firefox applets that acts as wrappers around the command-line functions to open firefox with specific profiles (see image 1 of applets in Applications in Finder). Each application is a simple .scpt file that runs the shell script (see image 2).

This allows me to have specific app icons for the different firefox profiles in my user dock (see image 3).

The issue is that once the applet is used and firefox has been opened, there are issues with permissions. In settings, it is clear that both microphone and speaker permissions have been shared with the applets AND firefox itself (see image 4).

However, any time I navigate to a page, I get a dialogue asking if the applet (Firefox_Professional, in this case) can access the microphone (see image 5). Depending on the page, I can get 1-20 dialogues in a row. This makes firefox practically unusable since I am closing an average of 5 dialogues before I can view any page.

Does anyone know any solutions to this?

I erased my iPhone and reinstalled Duo afterwards. There is no problem with the notices Columbia U sends to my iPhone to complete a Columbia sign in. I had renewed my subscription for MS365 on Tuesday the 30th when I got a popup inviting me to update Firefox to the latest release. I agreed and the download appeared to have worked. However, I soon found I could not access any of the MS365 apps. I restarted and found Firefox had also disappeared. The icons are present in the list of apps but clicking on them gets no response.

I have deleted and reinstalled Firefox and downloaded a new MS365 with no change.

I have Norton online antivirus and the MS365 comes with continuous Defender using Malwarebytes. (I am running down the remaining Norton subscription). I have also used both to do a sweep on each but no problems were found.

I have Outlook which has not been affected.

I am coming to the conclusion that I may need to do a full deletion of both. Can anyone suggest any other way to deal with this?

When I upload photos to facebook.com regularly Firefox freezes. The radio channel I am listening to will keep on going and the task manager does not indicate Firefox is frozen. It will not respond to any mouse clicks though. I removed Firefox and reinstalled but that did not fix anything. thanks!

I use Comcast e-mail. I can't print anything! But I have Mozilla as my server (?) browser (?) and can't get a letter to print out. I really want to access a Notepad or a Word Program to have a BLANK PAGE to write a letter to a doctor or some other person in a professional manner! Word used to come with Windows! I had to install Windows 11, but I don't like "Bing" and so I have Mozilla, which I like much better. Windows 11 is in the background! Sorry, this is confusing, moreso to ME!!!!! When I try to print a letter, I've been using the Comcast e-mail account, but anything I try to print gets "compromised" and causes overlays and no way to print out a letter!!!! I just spent $46 for a new black printer cartridge! And I need to type a letter to my doctor! Please give me some help and tell me how to install a FREE blank page. I do NOT need help writing. I like spell-check, but I am quite proficient at composing a letter. I just can't PRINT the darn thing! Thank you.

When opening multiple links from a spreadsheet, FF focuses on each one before opening the next, meaning each video will begin playing, rather than waiting until I click on it. Is there anyway to make this function like chrome, where only the final tab is focused on and the rest do not play, or maybe only stay focused on the spreadsheet tab? Blocking autoplay will work, but it means I have to click to begin playing every video, which I don't want. I also already have "When you open a link, image or media in a new tab, switch to it immediately" unchecked.

1. For a start you might do what you implicitly claim - restore open windows on all screen "spaces".

2. But recognising that you have never done this (& I have used Firefox on Macs for a long time) perhaps you could be honest and warn us both before and after a reboot.

(If there is a power outage or apple reboot, an apple "app" tends to be reopened, not usually on my preferred space. Other apps & processes are mostly not reloaded or restarted (another irritation), Firefox is somewhere in between.

3. I do of course take various measures to avoid time in reinstating "where was I", (so I bookmark all regular tabs on each space that I use for a particular type of activity, eg space 4 is booking regular sport-like venues, with a weather check tab too), but perhaps the whizz kids at mozilla, could think about how to help slow old guys like me recover from unexpected distractions & outages, etc.

Rasbperry Pi 5 desktop OS -> Firefox 142.0.1 (aarch64) -> Open application menu -> Settings -> Sync -> Sync logged into firefox account -> Syncing: ON -> tap Sync Now -> Syncing... -> complete in 5-10 seconds.

Phone iPhone 11 iOS 18.5 -> Firefox app -> not synced.

It seems I have to not just open phone's Firefox browser, but navigate to the phone's Firefox's Sync settings and then I see Firefox phone app syncing.

Unintuitive, needs improvement or some notification to remind of small human needed interactions.

I haven't visited the Growatt site in a long time, but more Growatt bookmarks are being saved to my bookmarks every day! I'm encountering an issue in my web app: when typing a character with an accent (such as á, ä, etc.), the textarea clears out and becomes disabled, making it unusable for Spanish speakers. This behavior worked correctly until a few months ago. The application is built with Vaadin.

The reported web site in bug 1910865 sets `HTMLInputElement.value` to the latest value explicitly at every `input` event except when during a composition. When it's in a composition, it stores the latest value at `input` events during the composition and set it at `compositionend` event listener.

Currently, Gecko dispatches the events as the following order at ending a composition: 1. `beforeinput` whose `isComposing` is `true` 2. `compositionend` 3. `input` whose `isComposing` is `false`

Therefore, if user chooses the commit string from the candidate list, the commit string is not notified by `input` event before the `compositionend`.

On the other hand, Chrome dispatch the events as the following order: 1. `beforeinput` whose `isComposing` is `true` 2. `input` whose `isComposing` is `true` 3. `compositionend`

I.e., no `input` event is fired after `compositionend` and there is no `input` event whose `isComposing` is `false`. This is handled in the spec issue [1], but not yet resolved.

Perhaps, we can dispatch redundant `input` event before `compositionend` event, i.e., 1. `beforeinput` whose `isComposing` is `true` 2. `input` whose `isComposing` is `true` 3. `compositionend` 4. `input` whose `isComposing` is `false`

This breaks the pair of `beforeinput` and `input`, but I guess it's not important for web apps especially for the redundant `input` event case.

Many web pages that have a video header will launch the video in a popup window after you scroll past the header.

There are no user controls in the popup window, and clicking 'block popups' and turning off 'enable p-n-p controls' had no effect on them.

Is there a a setting that will stop these video popups from automatically launching? They eat up a lot of memory, and are a pain to turn off manually.

I just replaced my Win 10 desktop with a new Win 11 desktop. I downloaded Firefox OK, but my bookmarks are no longer there, of course. I was told that there was some way to recover them to this machine, but I didn't get any details how. In fact, the person implied they would just appear when I downloaded Firefox to the new machine. Of course, this didn't happen. Firefox did appear to recognize me (got a "welcome back, by the way" message near the top of the page). Can I somehow recover my old bookmarks to this machine?
