I'm wondering if there's any way to have a button toggle for a setting exposed via about:config?

The reason for my ask is that I currently use a second Firefox profile, where full-screen-api.ignore-widgets is set to True, in order to have full-screen videos inside a firefox window, meaning I can fully expand a video into the window that its open in, without taking up the entire screen. Extremely good for productivity reasons.

Now, the only slight issue that I have is that sometimes I wanna easily swap back without needing to move the video tab to my main profile - and hoping that it's possible somehow without exposing myself to lax security practices - I found it might be possible when using fx-autoconfig - but it does concern me when it states "Please note that malicious external programs can now inject custom logic to Firefox even without elevated privileges just by modifying boot.sys.mjs or adding their own script files.".

I essentially just want an true/false button for the full-screen-api.ignore-widgets setting instead of needing to swap profiles/manually enter about:config to swap the boolean value back and forth.

video downloadhelper is not saving the videos to vdhelper folder any longer. how do I change the folder location for only the video downloadhelper. its going straight to download folder.

Sites like NBC and USAToday tell me to disable Adblock Plus. After I do this, I hit refresh. These sites still say ABP is active and to disable it. This does not happen in Chrome.

This issue started a few weeks ago. Frequently, when I switch from one page to another, I get a pop-up page from some unrelated business or form. I have started to fill out an order form for a trusted business only to find out I am filling out another company's form instead. My page gets hijacked in this manner several times a day. It's not only annoying, but a security issue. One moving company keeps popping up. I am not moving, or even thinking about moving, but I keep getting this company's home page when trying to access other venues.

I don't know if this is related, but I installed Duck Duck Go a while back to avoid Google trackers. A few weeks ago I found that Duck Duck was no longer my preferred search engine and put it back as preferred. Whether coincidence or not, my problems began about that time.

I'am testing a GPO to deploy the Lockself extension on windows 11 for Firefox 152, the JSON used in the GPO setting is the following :

{"{ca613ee6-4211-4ae2-aa3c-d29608461d11}":{"installation_mode":"force_installed","install_url":"https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/latest/lockself-password-manager/latest.xpi","updates_disabled":false}}

And i have enabled an another setting to prevent the extension to be disabled or uninstalled by specifing the ID of the extension : ca613ee6-4211-4ae2-aa3c-d29608461d11

The policies are visibles under about:policies and they don't show any error.

The issue is that i'am still able to disable Lockself but going in Firefox parameters then under password and autofill. On the image attached, the button "Desactivate the extension" is here and you can use it, it disable the extension.

I use Lastpass in combination with a Yubico key to manage my secure login to all of my accounts. I use both a laptop and a desktop computer and Windows 11 and Linuxmint operating systems.

I like to have a simple list of what I have in Lastpass and every time I login into my Lastpass vault I would like to have its simple list of contents in the categories that I have organised, rather than its other formats (e.g. ikon view).

I want Firefox to only keep track of how I want Lastpass to look every time I open it, but I want to be able to clear all of my other use of Firefox when I exit the browser.

Can I use the Firefox settings for this purpose and, if so, how do I do that, while maintaining maximum security?

Hello: w11p laptop. FF dev 153.0b.11 (12july). The overflow option for the menu bar containing the address field does not let me move extensions icons from the "always view" choice to the overflow. I have already looked at "extensions & themes dropdown. I have already viewed possible answers here & the worst one says: "NO." That is, this used to be a useable item, but w/changes, no go. I have a 18 in /45cm (only) monitor & don't use FF full screen hardly ever, just 1/2 is enuf. Any solutions/add-ons for a workaround so I can see more than 1/2 in of address field (when the whole browser window is 6 in total)? Tx.

unable to get Download Helper to initialize in my Firefox browser. i have checked and rechecked so many things. how can i fix this so i can dl videos from the internet and watch them?

When I select a bookmark to select a web site I have other web sites loading in along with the selected. This just started all of a sudden.

Everything squeezed to the left or center of firefox window. Search results are squeezed to the left third of the window leaving the rest of the window blank. Other sites are squeezed to the middle third of the window with blank areas to the left and right. This happened after I added an AI to the sidebar and then removed it.

When i create an account in blue named AK-M AK-M will not appear on the screen- There i find instead "Neuer Tab" ... How to solve this Problem? Thanks for any hints. Josef Schwendt
