Firefox 99.0

I guess it's a problem with the latest update because it didn't happen to me before. Gmail keeps showing me this message: "Gmail is having authentication problems. Some features may not be operational. Please try logging in to troubleshoot the problem." I have relogin, deleted the cookies and site data but I still get that message. I have tried starting the browser from "about:support" in troubleshooting mode but the error still appears. This does not happen in other browsers.

Whenever Firefox tries to sync, which is naturally happening on startup, it crashes with no error messages. I ran Firefox in safe mode by entering the command firefox -safe-mode and the same thing as before happened, but before it crashed, Firefox wrote Exiting due to channel error. Exiting due to channel error. Exiting due to channel error. Segmentation fault in the console, and then exited to the command prompt. Help!?

You actually have an egregious error in your install procedure/program. 1) you fail to tell folks/warn them close down i) FF when installing the update and/or ii) save and delete all open sites in the FF being upgraded. 2) there is a failure to TELL us reboot FF after the install.

Doing research and writing all day long as I do, I actually hold a number of reference sites open in FF as I work.

My friend who happens to understand all this computer stuff tells me that the open sites on my FF is what impeded the successful install . . . .

The other grumble I have with you-all is that it has taken me too much time to try and find a way to respond to you with the information needed to solve this problem for the FF community . . . .

I am a paying/donator to FF . . . and I must tell you I am beyond disappointed by all this dropped ball on sensible communications practice!

I note that there are 399 posts referring to this problem. The problem has existed on my PC for about 4-5 months.. DELL support has checked my computer, we have cleared cache and browser and tweaked other controls but nothing helps. I have no problem using Google Chrome. If so may people are having the same problem surely Firefox should be making an effort to fix the bug??!! Just drafted a reply to you from Firefox site but as frequently happens message appeared -

Something about oops and an error message. When it occurs drafts do not save and messages do not transmit.

Sorry the screen print will not copy across.

I use Firefox as my main browser and it is inconvenient to have to swap between Firefox and Chrome

Can Firefox please fix this problem?

thank you mlmg

A couple users at our site intermittently receive a SSL_ERROR_BAD_MAC_ALERT error when navigating to Google in Firefox. This happens in Version 99.0.1 (64-bit) on Windows 10 computers. When the issue occurs, users can navigate to other websites without issues. Navigating to Google in a different browser works no problem. Restarting the browser will resolve the issue. Clearing cookies and site data has no effect. Users can also refresh the page after some time and the issue will go away.

Any idea as to why this is happening?

I have been trying to get on the Malwarebytes website, but I keep getting;

Your connection is not secure

The owner of links.malwarebytes.com has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website.

links.malwarebytes.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is only valid for the following names: *.fortinet.com, fortinet.com Error code: SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN

This happens with all of my web browsers. Is it safe to allow Fortinet ?
