Hi,

It was OK for me to download file from a link before, but since a while ago, when I single click on any link (ex., Firefox Installer) it showed nothing and nothing happened (Normally I think dialog about if open or save/when to save should pop up). I also try other way to open the link then: 1. If I try to open a new tab on link, then a empty tab was opened (as attached image). 2. If I right click the link and click "Save Link As..." then it will pop up the save folder selection dialog.

I hope to have any suggestion to fix this issue. Thanks in advance for any support.

Figured out the basic issue (from Solutions here) why old Firefox not working on old XP-SP3. Found 52.9.0esr download - but when I run the file, it keeps telling me to "Close Firefox". Used Task Manager - nothing - not Firefox or anything else - is shown to be running. Any ideas? Might not be a Firefox issue, but would appreciate any insights. TIA - Jean

The installation of Nightly caused major problems in Firefox. (Windows 10 PC) I want BOTH Nightly and Firefox on my computer; however my Firefox profile became corrupted in the process. Things like: the Bookmarks not appearing despite all the settings for them being correct; Firefox crashing when importing bookmarks. Fed up, I decided I wanted a completely new installation of Firefox. I could use my sync to my Firefox account to get most of what I needed back easily... I thought. I don't want to detail every step, they are too many. The important part, I think, is this. Installing Firefox, I need for it to create a new profile. Beause the old one had NUMEROUS corruptions, I got rid of it, thinking that Firefox can create a new profile when installing the software from scratch. But guess what? It will not do that. THE PROBLEM is that Nightly and Firefox share the same Roaming/Profiles folder, which means that the .ini files contain references to BOTH profiles in a single file. Profiles.ini contains both. Installs.ini contains references to both. If I delete - or try to alter the contents of - either .ini file, then Nightly loses its profile as well. I have restored those two files to where Nightly now starts up normally, thank god. But there is NOTHING I can do so far to get the new installation of Firefox to start up without trying to find the now missing profile which was corrputed to the point that it was more trouble than it was worth. It used to be possible to install Firefox and make whatever fixes were necessary before starting up the browser. Now it is not; it starts up automatically, or not at all. WHY is the setup designed this way? Really large error on the part of Mozilla developers to put the profiles info and installs info into the same file, so that upon uninstalling Firefox, you must either find the old corrupt profile again, or start from scratch with BOTH Nightly and Firefox. We waste SO MANY HOURS trying to work around the careless / thoughtless things that developers do! Please can someone help me? For now I have Nightly, but it looks like I will never have Firefox again after using it and its ancestors for 25 years. Thanks in advance!

I installed Firefox to a new laptop and tried syncing my old laptop bookmarks and settings. It first synced with the Firefox app on my phone, then the old laptop. (Main Menu > Bookmarks) I found all the folders and bookmarks from the old laptop bookmarks menu when I clicked Manage bookmarks at the bottom of the new computer's bookmarks menu. (Main Menu > Bookmarks > Manage bookmarks) How do I get all my folders and bookmarks to show in the actual bookmarks menu instead of going through all these steps to get to them?

I just upgraded to Firefox 94.0.1. and have lost all my bookmarks and passwords. I have tried to import backups but Firefox is "Unable to process the backup file". This means that I have, for now, lost access to all 1555 bookmarks I have which is as you can imagine extreamly frustrating and anoying. Is it possible to roll back to an earlier version which may work or to produce a fix for this version?

I've been using SeaMonkey for quite a while now, but I am slowly coming to terms with it being a memory hog, that has some apparent memory leak in it. Despite having 64 GiB of RAM in my desktop, running it for a few days - though with many tabs - can still cause it to crash, sometimes the entire OS.

So I want to migrate the session from SeaMonkey to Firefox, i.e. preserve my tabs. Copying keys3.db and logins.sqlite ensures my passwords are copied over. But copying places.sqlite or sessionstore.json from my SeaMonkey profile to Firefox does not work.

Inspect places.sqlite both generated by Firefox and SeaMonkey, I notice that they do not have the same schema for moz_places, so I wonder if that is upsetting Firefox, and scraps the entire file. I notice that Firefox - while not using sessionstore.json any more - is using another file called sessionstore.jsonlz4, I wonder if I could convert my SeaMonkey sessionstore.json to a sessionstore.jsonlz4 file, that Firefox might be able to load it. However, finding guides on how to generate a jsonlz4 is hard, since most - if not all - are about decoding them.

So I am a bit stumped. How do I migrate my SeaMonkey session to Firefox? I can live with losing my history, and I don't use bookmarks. We are talking about well over 100 tabs, and I'd hate having to enter them manually.

I am using Firefox 92 and SeaMonkey 2.53.8.1 on Fedora 33.
