I have copied my Profiles folder, complete with the Installs.ini and Profiles.ini files from my W10 desktop to a new W11 machine. I went through choice of default startup process. Firefox starts and works OK. Except that the stored log-ins and passwords are not available – i.e. when I try to access a familiar website I am asked for my user name and password. Is there some other step to get the stored log-ins activated?

Microsoft messed up the latest Firefox update. I had to re-install Firefox from the app store on Win11. I thought id would be a simple task of logging into my account. But all my setting appear to have been lost; home tabs, bookmarks, add-ons, etc. I have tried to sync from the settings menu and no different. The previous firefox install is still on the laptop but does not start.

Any ideas? I have searched everywhere I can think of and an hour later coming here. The bookmarks still appear on my phone at present.

WHY is it that every time I try to search for something in Firefox it takes me to Wikipedia? I cannot use Firefox any longer for searches. Everything I try to do ends up as a Wikipedia issue. I cannot escape it, I can't delete it, I can't do anything with Firefox any longer.

After every update Firefox icon is deleted from Windows Taskbar. Does anyone have the same problem in Windows 10?

To add the icon again, I have to open the Firefox install folder, and Pin to Taskbar the shortcut to Firefox.exe. Can it be automated by the Firefox installer / updater?

I was previously using Firefox on Windows 10 and if I entered a search argument (which was handled by Google) and the results weren't relevant to my query, I could use the back arrow to get to the search argument and amend it. Now I'm on a new Windows 11 machine, I installed Firefox (release 111.0.1), and this ability is gone. Why?

Another, admittedly small, change. On my Windows 10 machine there was a Google icon in the blank space to the left of the space where you enter the url. It was handy for situations where you wished to start a new search using a window that was already open. A workaround of course is to add a Google icon to the line below that, where I have all my other often used sites (the bank, etc.), but why would this have changed?

I assume I was at 111.0.1 in Windows 10 but I have no way to check that out. I was always getting automatic updates in my Windows 10 machine.

I was getting suspicious activity from a website only when using Firefox. I cleared all history, cache, site settings, then I saved my bookmarks in a file (named it something non-default), and deleted the program by uninstalling, trying to erase everything.

When I reinstalled, Firefox gladly announced it had recovered old bookmarks.

How do I erase EVERYTHING from my computer that Firefox knows about, so I can be sure I have a clean install?

Last week, Firefox blew up on my Mac. An Apple security window opened up saying my machine was compromised, and I had to uninstall Firefox. Further attempts to install a later version were rebuffed by MAC OS because Firefox was not installed through "The App Store".

There was something about changing my security settings on my Mac to allow Firefox, but I could not find any options specifically relevant to Firefox. I really want to recover the use of Mozilla applications as they are used in routine browser searches, and are my secure web buffer.
