I am wanting to maximize my privacy and security on Firefox. I am using aliases to do so. However, when viewing the account settings and the connected services section, I saw that Firefox was connected to "[full legal name]'s Firefox on [laptop name]." I did not supply Firefox with my real name, and I suspect that Firefox is simply reading the name of the account I used to log into my laptop. However, changing the name of the device account is not easy as it is linked to my Microsoft account, but even after successfully doing so using the command center, the connected services still reads my real name. How do I change this?

I've been using a third party window manager on iOS and have shortcuts assigned to resize and reposition windows. Recently I've noticed that the behavior for Firefox is significantly different and my initial guess is that something in Firefox is intercepting my shortcuts and resizing my windows instead allowing my window manager to handle it. For reference, the shortcuts I have for my third party window manager are listed below and result in different behavior when focused on Firefox compared to other applications:

  • Position window left: `Cmd + Ctrl + H`
  • Position window right: `Cmd + Ctrl + L`
  • Position window center: `Cmd + Ctrl + M`

Is there a way to disable this?

I get the following output in Terminal app after the above command is executed:

Hi.

Similar to this question: https://support.mozilla.org/ln/questions/1291938

I would like to know how to customize "autoconfig.js" or "firefox.cfg" so that the home page is focused instead of the address bar when I open Firefox.

I the linked question, the following solutions works fine for focus content on New Tab:

    Services.obs.addObserver((event) => {
      window = BrowserWindowTracker.getTopWindow();
      window.gBrowser.selectedBrowser.focus();
    }, "browser-open-newtab-start");
  } catch(e) { Cu.reportError(e); }

It works fine, but I can't make it work for the Homage page when it's configured to open a local file.

I tried to bind the "window.gBrowser.selectedBrowser.focus();" action on the "browser-open-homepage-start" event but it has not effect.

Thanks.

Despite reading support guides, Searches, nothing works. In the Firefox settings - make default provides pop up that does not action change when Firefox is selected. The reason for pursuing this ? clicking hyperlinks opens Safari on my iMac and not Firefox.

Safari is very slow to open, freezes anything else I'm doing and I simply want the links to open in Firefox. Are there any actual solutions that work? cheers

I have a component that depends on browser events for online/offline events to let know the user when he is disconnected from the activity.

I was checking on firefox, and for some reason Im not able to see the event been emitted when disabling the network (I did test it, turn it the wifi on/off).

in the image , there is side by side with chrome and firefox, so I know my event listener works, but doesnt seems like firefox is sending the events,

I have a js using same examples from the documentation,

has someone else notice this? , or is some sort of settings in firefox?, according to the documentation it should be supported by default,

my poc code->

<title>Online Offline</title> <script type="text/javascript"> console.log(" ******** Online Offline in real time **********"); const handlerOnline = async () => { console.log("online handler :: ", new Date().toISOString()); }; const handlerOffline = async () => { console.log("offline handler :: ", new Date().toISOString()); }; window.addEventListener("online", () => handlerOnline(), false); window.addEventListener("offline", () => handlerOffline(), false); window.document.addEventListener("online", () => handlerOnline(), false); window.document.addEventListener("offline", () => handlerOffline(), false); window.onoffline = (event) => { console.log("1:: The network connection has been lost."); }; window.ononline = (event) => { console.log("A:: online"); }; window.addEventListener("offline", (event) => { console.log("2:: The network connection has been lost."); }, false, true); window.addEventListener("online", (event) => { console.log("B:: online"); }, false, true); window.addEventListener("offline", (event) => { console.log("3:: The network connection has been lost."); }); </script>
