cmd+numbers on alphanumeric keys should switch to respective tab (cmd+1 to 1st tab, cmd+5 to fifth...). With CZ keyboard layout on MacOS, cmd+1 does NOT switch to first tab, it Zooms In instead. No other browser (Edge, Safari, Opera, Orion) exhibits this behaviour. Other numbers work as expected.

FF 98.0.2 on Monterey 12.2.1.

How do I fix this? Thanks.

Why why why why is FF forcing download of pdf files? It is a horrible problem for me.

Especially because I am a university prof and, in the classroom, constantly display (my own!) files from the course management system on the classroom devices. I DO NOT WANT MY FILES SAVED ONTO THE (PUBLIC) CLASSROOM DEVICE. Never mind multiple copies as it will download EACH AND EVERY TIME I open it.

I have been looking everywhere for a solution or a way to disable this feature, there seems to be no such option but I am seeing a lot of posts from people who object to this as much as I do.

After many many years of loyally using FF and a paid subscriber to some Mozilla services, I am afraid I am going to have to give up using FF is this isn't fixed NOW.

I currently have this add-on installed. It allows you to you highlight certain text, then right click and open up a link to Wiktionary in another tab. Up until a few minutes ago, this menu item was at the very top of the list (i.e. above "undo" and all the rest), but now it's been moved down with all the other add-ons. Image for further clarity.

The add-on hasn't been updated in 6 years, so it's certainly not that. I don't recall doing anything to make it change, but before this, it had been at the top of the menu ever since I added it maybe 2 years ago. Is there any potential way to restore this functionality? The fact that it appeared at the very top of the menu might have been a bug, but if that's the case, it was certainly a convenient one.

Anyway, I'll be looking forward to hearing from you fine folks in this community.

Hallo,

Question related to Firefox on my openSUSE Leap 15.4 system.

In settings/general Restore previous session and Open links in tabs instead of new windows is selected. Unfortunately after a new start up these settings do not generate, since a few weeks, the expected result "Restore previous session and open these links in tabs" .

Hi I have a problem playing videos available on skynews.com.au where the white rotating dots within the black circle just keep rotating and loading does not occur. I assume this to be a result of a setting problem because it does not occur on another browser on my desktop computer.

Any advice?

Cheers Peter Meade

Various website that contain dynamic content are not being rendered by Firefox to display that content. This is happening with websites that provide transportation information and ticketing, including Amtrak and Peter Pan Bus Lines . It is also happening with a genealogical website, FamilyTreeDNA, on pages that should be displaying family tree information. Illustrations of two pages are attached. I have been able to access the information by using Opera on this same computer and operating system, and by using the same version of Firefox installed on a different computer with different operating system. I am not sufficiently proficient with website development to know or understand what type of dynamic content is being generated by these websites, or how Firefox interprets the content. My suspicion is that some Firefox setting has been enabled or disabled, but I do not know which one it would be.

JavaScript file uses command ```console.log()``` for showing values and outputs they into console. Next to the displayed result, there is a link to the place where the function was called (the source). I need to copy the displayed result, but when I select text in the console, these links get there.

How do I disable these links so that they are not displayed when data is output?

Love me FF, thanks for such a great browser.

As the Subject describes, I just wanna move or remove the Forward/Back/Refresh/Bookmark controls either down or off the contextual menu. I am constantly right-clicking for dev purposes and it automatically clicks the back button almost every time and thus goes back to the previous page. THIS IS A HEADACHE AND A TIME SUCK.

Screenshot attached. Any help is appreciated.

I recently reinstalled firefox and now my search suggestions won't work properly. They only seem to work when i check the box "Top sites" in the adress bar section of privacy and security. The suggested sites doesn't change when i check other boxes. It either shows a set selection of sites when i have "Top sites" checked or nothing when it isn't checked. The set of sites it shows when it's checked contains some popular sites and some sites from my browsing history. The list doesn't update and just stays the same.

I want to have "Top sites" turned off and have it so that my most visited sites are suggested first.

Please help, i really want that setting back!

I'm used to Chrome's ability to automatically open a history item I click on in a new tab. Firefox instead opens that history item in the tab I'm currently in, which is really inconvenient. I don't want to have to remember to open a new tab BEFORE I look in history for a specific item. I can't find any way to do this in Firefox - it may be there, but not to my eyes.

I get a blank white page when I open Firefox. It loads my home page when I first turn on PC. It will not load my homepage once I've closed firefox and the re-open it. It loads my homepage if I disable add-ons. The only addons i have are OpenH264 and Wildvine Decryption. I disable those but that doesn't help. Restore previous session is un-checked. I've gone into config and made sure browser.startup.page was set to 1.

How to launch firefox automatically in LOW PRIORITY? Before, it was not complicated with a single optimized process. But for a year now, Firefox has been configured in relation to Gaming PCs with 8-16GB of RAM, 4K video and Games which uses PNG of 4MB in animation. It is almost a luxury to be able to use several software at the same time (photoshop, windows, firefox ...). And I'm not talking about all the crap associated with protecting flouted data.

NOTA: Your single process option does not work: it already generates 6 which are not optimized. When you delete the biggest one, all the others close. So I don't see the point of this configuration.

Yeah, if you guys could stop removing customization options with every update that'd be swell. It's like every time Firefox updates it does something new I hate, and I look for how to change it back and invariably I find that "Oh we DID have the option to put tabs below the address bar but we took that out for literally no other reason than to piss you off" or "We DID have the option to have the address bar not change sizes when you click on it but the end user actually having a say in that was too nice and convenient so we spent time and effort actually removing functionality that was already there and we could have simply left in".

Seriously, just STOP ACTIVELY MAKING THE BROWSER WORSE WITH EACH UPDATE.
