I've read several posts on similar problems. I first experienced the freeze-up when trying to download files. So, I tried to go into tools/options as instructed to change download location. I then got the same freeze up at that point (when I clicked on "options") and had to end FF using task manager. I tried Safe Mode with add-on's disabled, and then I tried re-installing FF, same result each time. There must be some corrupt dll or ini or similar file in my profile somewhere that is causing this, and I don't want to start over with a new profile, obviously. Any help appreciated

I noticed I've been having a lot of crashes and my pages keep freezing when I use Firefox. This started with the recent Firefox updates...I have version 3.6.7 right now. Sometimes a message pops up about some problem with plugin...I've also recently downloaded the latest Flash plugin but a few times, it says I need to reinstall it.
I also cannot export Favorites from Firefox to Internet Explorer 8 because it says there are problems when I tried it.

When I try to use my browser this is what appears: Unable to connect to the server at www.mozilla.com, the site could be temporarily too busy, check your network connections(which I did), if your computer is protected by a firewall or proxy make sure firefox is permitted to access the web. This is my problem It won't let me get to the web.

Ok, Im using Firefox 3.6, and for some reason, firefox crashes every time I go to a webpage containing the phrase B i g_B a n g_T h e o r y (spaces in between are so my firefox wont crash...).
I tried searching for the phrase on internet explorer, that crashed too.
I determined that "theory" has nothing to d with the problem, and that the crash only occurs when the words "B i g_B a n g" are on the page (with no spaces or underscores...)
When firefox/IE crashes, its not a traditional crash. there is no error message or javascript popup, the page simply closes out, as if I had pressed alt + f4.
also, the page containing the problem phrase doesnt crash if it is in a background tab.
Any ideas whats wrong?

I have regular firefox installed on my desktop. I copied my firefox portable installation to c:\portable\firefox and for a while I was using that firefox, even though when another program asked for my default browser, it would activate the "regular" one in program files. Then the portable one started simply not opening. I could see in the task manager that both firefoxportable.exe and firefox.exe were running. And firegox.exe was grabbing 49/50% of the CPU and stuck there. Kill it, try again, same thing. Usually around the 4th or 5th time, it would come and be just fine.
Decided to stop using the portable version and copied the profile from portable over to the applications folder that had the default profile for the desktop version in program files. Worked great. But after two days or so, the problem described above is back and lo and behold, there is no longer an installation of firefox in program files!
How do I get out of this mess? I really want to keep my bookmarks and plugins and etc. etc.
none.

Firefox crashes as soon as I open it. As far as I know, I haven't been able to submit crash report. I was playing Farmville when it crashed, about a month or two ago, and did submit a crash report then, all this in suppost has been no help, since I can't get Firefox to open in first place. I can only use IE now, so cannot go to about crashes in location bar.
