Hi,

I am reading many international newspapers every day. Ihave blocked all cookies, but allowed cookies (exceptionnally) for some sites (a.o. the newspapers) in "Options\Privacy and Security\Cookies and Site Preferences\Manage exceptions".

Strangely enough, this works for most (newspaper) sites, but on some sites I still get the cookie message. One of the sites, where this does not work, i.e. I am still getting the cookie warning (despite having allowed cookies in Firefox by exception) is "Le Monde" in France (https://www.lemonde.fr/). Another one is "BBC News".

I am wondering what I am doing wrong or whether this is a problem in Firefox, or else, depending on the websites ?

Thanks for your possible help !

I've been using Facebook container for a few days now and now every time I logon to FB, I get a dialogue box asking me to agree to all their cookies. There's a check box on their dialogue box which of course I'm not going to tick, but at the bottom the only option is to press "I agree" button. There is no "save my choice" option. So I want to know if I click the I agree button whether I'm still agreeing to the check box as well? There seems no way round this, there's no crossing out of this I agree to all cookies dialogue box, I would have to not use FB at all instead. Any insights, or workarounds anyone?

Hello,

as the title says, I am contiuously logged out of my Google and Instagram account when using Firefox both mobile and desktop (Android and Windows 10) every three days or so.

I have no more explenation for this since I have tried everything that came to my mind. Does anyone have a similar problem or, even better, a solution?

Things that I have tried/ensured so far: - Privacy settings: browser history etc. are deleted after closing firefox, but not the cookies and also not the saved log-ins. Furthermore, even after I am logged out of the mentioned pages, there are still cookies of Instagram and Google saved in Firefox, I have checked that. - I have not changed those settings in two years or so, the problem occours since a few weeks. - My only addon is uBlock, deactivating it does not change the problem and I have also had this installed since more that two years. - All my other logins (Amazon, eBay and so on) are not affected by this. - I have no applications on my phone or computer that deletes cookies automatically, also that would not make sence to my since only Google and Instagram are affected and even further, cookies of those are not even deleted so the reason seems to be elsewhere.

Thank you in advance! SirGarfield

For some reason, so far, twice I have opened Firefox only to discover everything reset to the default: addons gone, history gone, websites I have previously signed into gone as well. And I am not sure how this happens, and what to do to prevent it.

I have searched up help, but I feel I am unable to understand them.

Video help would be especially appreciated.

If I type vodafone in Google search in firefox it shows for only half a second the link to the vodafone website but than it goes 3 or 4 places down and I only get links to other vodafone suppliers. If I type stock Tesla before I got the grafic of Tesla stock and now I have to click to financial to show that because the first 3 links are commercial stock sellers.

This is only a recent development but very very annoing.

I does not happen in Google Chrome.

hello folks,

I'm getting very annoyed with the paranoia of corporate America and I my machines are all heavily customized. and I've managed to cut off all ties with corporate people because they are very big time wasters because most of their customers are very uninformed. but that's OK. I just happen to be a rare case. I posted this question elsewhere and asked some other very competent people about this. It is here:

however, the addressed a very similar issue. really the point of this effort by me is to save anything and everything that BANKS put on my machines so i don't have to talk to CSR's when they change their security and annoy customers with changing auth and auth. I just ran into it again with HSBC 10 minutes ago and wasted 20 minutes doing redundant tasks with a CSR to unlock the account. can you guys tell me what is in each one of the files listed in the image I've attached? I can do it myself with github tools, but I'd rather save time and get it from the pros here, assuming someone here knows. I just need summaries. Not specifics. I can figure it out from there. If someone could give a hint if this doesn't look like a suspicious post, that would be nice.

thanks.

bold textSince I got a new computer and put Firefox on it I have not been able to keep choices, selections and cookies for web pages. Every time I go to one I have to reenter settings and/or accept cookies. Even though I do it every time I go to the websites. This is over every web site I go to. Not sure what is causing this. But none of them remember my cookies or settings.

I am trying to publish designs to amazon and I get the following error message over and over

Cookie “session-id” will be soon rejected because it has the “SameSite” attribute set to “None” or an invalid value, without the “secure” attribute

I can upload to the amazon site but I can't publish.

I have no idea how to fix this quickly. I have a deadline coming up and I so stuck.

Thanks

Previous versions of FF allowed you to select individual cookies that wouldn't be deleted when FF closed. This meant you wouldn't have to log in to your favorite sites each time you opened FF; - you'd already be logged in. Later versions of FF no longer have this functionality. However, IE and Safari both do have this functionality. For example, I used to be able to keep my google cookies and browse straight into google reader after the browser opened. Now I always have to login. Does anyone know if the functionality will be restored to FF? The current lack of versatile cookie settings is a hindrance to efficiency.

(PS. Cor-el, please don't answer as you're wrong on this. The key messages are that FF used to have this functionality and plenty of other users agree, and IE and Safari still have it so go and check it yourself, and it has nothing to do with Clear Recent History.) Thanks all. :)

With firefox 17.0 Norton 360 does not pick up tracking cookies that were picked up with firefox 16.0.2. Uninstalled 17.0 and and reinstalled 16.0.2 - tracking cookies are picked up - updated to 17.0 and again no tracking cookies. I did not see anything in release note that would seem to reflect this situation. asked this question at 08:57 PST 11/29/2012 and the reply stated that Norton 360 should still be able to remove tracking cookies. WELL IT DOES NOT - WHAT HAS CHANGED FROM 16.0.2 TO 17.0 THAT WOULD CAUSE THIS. IS THIS A NEW BUG? The first reply did not answer my question however it was marked as "solved". I have rolled back to 16.0.2 and updated to 17.0 twice and the same thing has happened both times.
