I have done a search on Amazon and Bing to find a maglite flashlight. Then I clear the the Firefox cache and cookies with all checkboxes checked. Then I login to Facebook and see the maglite flashlight being advertised right away.

Question: Why doesn't clearing the cache, cookies, and history stop Facebook from knowing my browsing history?!!

Thanks, Steve

At some point last year, every website started asking me to allow cookies on every visit. I couldn't see how to make Firefox more easy-going back then but now I've decided I don't need the protection since I'm using uBlock and NoScript anyway.

I have gone through the support forum answers to other people and I have all my settings configured to allow cookies and not delete them on FF restarts, custom blocking with no checkboxes checked, but still I see these cookie permissions questions all the time. What can I do?

I am using Firefox 109.0 (64 bit) on Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon. When I go to Settings>Privacy & Security>Manage Data, and select multiple websites for the deletion of data, after clicking Remove Selected and then Save Changes, the box which appears [Removing Cookies and Site Data} does not show the buttons "Cancel" or "Remove". The box appears to drop off the bottom of the screen. Its lower border cannot be seen. The entire box is typically visible if I select a single site to remove, although I do have to sometimes drag the lower border of the box downward in order to reveal those buttons.

The environment is my home network and also opening ports on the router for outside access. This is not a permanent situation. I am just interested in doing this.

On a VM, I have a backend listening on 8055 and a front-end on port 3000. Both are http. Accessing this on a browser elsewhere on the network works but completing fields on a form causes the browser to show warnings. But it works.

So I thought let's move to Https. For the front end, I set the web server to use Https with a self signed certificate. There are the expected "are you sure" messages in the browser but so far so good. So Https ....:3000 works.

For the backend, I used caddy and reverse proxy Https:8555 to http:8055, with a TLS internal. Again, accessing the backend on a browser elsewhere works once the certificate is accepted.

But, the front-end can not fetch data from the backend. The browser console is showing CORS errors. I have set CORS origin in the backend. And it works for http.

So my question is will Firefox not fetch data when that backend is using a self signed certificate?

Hi, everyone,

Since the last update on 17.02 Firefox keeps deleting my cookies which removes the active logins. Strangely enough the history is remaining. 3-4 days ago I logged again in every platform I use and today all cookies were gone. I have already checked my settings but all seems fine.

The used plan is Standard, for History I switched from Remember history to Custom, marking both Remember browsing and download history and Remember search and form history with Clear history when Firefox closes unchecked but to no avail.

There are no crashes and no other anomalies, the only extension I am using is Adblock plus. I reset the browser, installed the Adblock and check the settings again. I also logged in Google on my Edge as well and it keeps its login.

Can you please help?

Under privacy tab... I choose to "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" I also set exemptions to this requirement. When the new load 110.0.1 was loaded the exemptions were deleted. Every time I try to assign this option I find that after I sign out they are erased again. Since I have not changed settings in a long time... is this a known problem?

I like having cookies because I can stay logged into websites and it improves functionality. Unfortunately, during a tech support call awhile ago, they did something, and now my cookies seem to be disappearing once a month. I was just on Apple tech support for another issue, but they said they don't know anything about it. Is there something I can do through Firefox, or do I need to bug Apple again? It's possible that it was the Microsoft/Teams tech support. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. I want to keep my cookies.

I want to check which sites have enabled cookies. I have done this before but now if I click the firefox logo top left all I get is firefox view. I can't see a Tools button or a Menu button. Is this because I am still using Windows 8.1? I know I shouldn't be but there is no chance of a n upgrade at the moment.

i can't find the name of the new cookie/tracker form moizilla i enabled last week, immediately going to utube (never logged ln to utube) it's obvious utube is no longer tailoring channels to my history. (but for years i've used firefox with its previous built in cookie/tracking enable. i also always have active Ghostery on full block).

i want to lower blocking for utube only, not remove because previous firefox before the "new" cooking/tracker utube did somehow store what type of channels to suggest. does utube use a cookie or a tracker to store channels to suggest? (note i do NOT login to utube, it's saving/storing my type of channels liked by other means than user account).

USA is nuts into fascism! of course americans don't want corporations recording our personal internet history then selling it to other corporations. to try to stop it citizens have to beg around mozilla, ghostery for complicated settings. even many of the help apps like ghostery r default to send them data, u have to hound around details in their preferences to disable them getting our history. citizens should have to be doing this to protect ourselves from corporations!

(ps. i upload my avatar, i see it on some pages, this page it's back to a B circle. i've uploaded successful 3 times yet it keeps disappearing).

Hi there,

I've been trying without much luck to find out when or in what Firefox version, the config setting network.cookie.sameSite.schemeful will be set to 'true' by default?

Can anyone point me in the direction of where this information is or let me know the answer if they already know it?

And I'll apologise in advance if this is in an obvious spot that I've just stupidly missed.

Thanks! Simon

Hello,

I got wondering about how I can save cookies from certain websites that I frequent like my e-mail for instance so I wouldn't have to type in my information again and again after clearing the cookies data in Firefox from time to time so it won't slow down or something. I tried putting in the full website address in the Manage Exceptions under Privacy & Security but still see the cookie(s) from that website on the list. Hope I'm making some sense here and that one of you might know something as in how I can get around this. Thank you in advance if you reply to this post.

I'm in permanent private browsing mode, so whenever I close Firefox the YouTube cookie exception I put under Manage exceptions gets deleted, now my question is if there is no way to make the exception permanent while in private browsing mode, why is the "Manage exceptions" menu enabled? why not disable it/grey it out?
