Using Firefox with Virgin Media Router Netgear superhub with wireless. Its a PC. For past week hub has been resetting itself several times during the day. When this problem occured any websites I login to which I have registered for and used many times previously either goes back to username and password box or message displayed 'Oops a sessions timeout has occured'. This happens on any website I have previously used and pre-registered with. This is causing me a huge problem now as I cannot access accounts I normally use on a daily basis. I am assuming this is something to do with cookies.

Interestingly this also happens on my daughter laptop who also uses Firefox.

i know this question has been asked before, but i need to know if there's a way to enable particular extension (if firefox have made this feature)? i want to enable some cookies at startup and remove others when i close firefox but i can't do this in private browsing. is there anyway to enable the extension or at least remove the "start private browsing" tab?

I must use FIREFOX to access DISH TV ON LINE by their rules and now your server says that the re-direct is impossible to work the way it is functioning....what can I do to fix this problem please?

I am hoping someone can help... I am having problems logging into some websites. I enter my log-in details, but instead of being allowed into the website, I get looped back to the welcome screen. If I try logging on again, the same thing happens. It isn't every website, for example Facebook and Twitter work ok. But Ancestry.com and Ancestry.co.uk don't work. Have never had this problem before (am a long time user of Firefox on Macs) but this issue started around 10 days ago (can remember browsing Ancestry on 1st December, but not since).

I've tried all the suggestions on the site I can find - deleted cookies, cleared my cache, deleted browsing history, re-installed Firefox and Shockwave. Nothing works. Am now totally stumped. Any suggestions as to how I can get Firefox and Ancestry to work together again.

All my plugins are up-to-date. I have removed almost all add-ons. JavaApplet and Shockwave plugins are installed and enabled.

yesterday i added DoNotTrackPlus to my add-ons. along with it came malware: Coupon Companion. it has blasted my facebook accounts with ads. i tried to remove it from add-ons but am unable to see my add-ons to do that. i ran malware removal tools. it is still here. can you please help me. desperate. thanks.

It used to be in the previous version 16.0.2, that I'm now thinking of

going back to, that -:

Tools, options, exception was a place that I could list all the cookies

that I never wanted to see. I could find the cookies that I did not want

by opening "cookies" and by hand putting unwanted cookies sources into

"exceptions" and blocking them.

As a result I would, by default, allow only unblocked cookies for valid

sites to be on my system. I had a list about 200 sites long of unwanted

blocked cookies sources.

Then in 17.0.1 - bingo my exceptions list went bye bye and I was finding

valid userids appear on pages that I opened where I had not asked

17.0.1 to retain either password or userid.

Then I found (in 17.0.1) that even if I ticked the box to remove the cookies (aquired by the lack of being able to block then) when I closed 17.0.1 that the tick was cancelled by 17.0.1 and the cookies stayed.

What I want to have happen is a) have no history b) accept cookies c) create exceptions and block cookes with that "exception" list and not have that exception list deleted when I close 17.0.1 d) accept 3rd party cookises and keep them until I close 17.0.1 e) clear history but NOT the exceptions list that I spent time creating (and I don't know where they were/are stored).

What I see is no way to delete the cookies when I quit 17.0.1 because, if I tick the cookie box in "Settings" 17.0.1 clears the cookie tick when I close 17.0.1

Although, the cookie exceptions for 17.0.1 is now working as in 16.0.2, I would like to put a copy of this file somewhere safe so if Foxfire updates and I loose the cookie exceptions, I don't have to re-create a new cookie exception list. I've looked in several places; user, me, apdata, and can't identify which file changes; Vista makes the search for the changed file (when I close 17.0.1) a little difficult.

i am not I.T expert. just know how to use it. when it comes to fix pc problems, i m just hopeless. the problem is simple. i guess since i downloaded a few programs i cant not open gmail from firefox.

is there some settings to be changed or something?

I choose Remember history in Privacy tab and Remember passwords for sites in Security tab in Options, but when I close Firefox, it doesn't remember my cookies and I have to do logins manually each time I open Firefox.

I am unable to block two tracking cookies:

atdmt.com

doubleclick.net

I have tried removing the blocks, then setting up a new block again.

For some reason, these two continue to creep back in.

I cannot log into my gmail or facebook account, because it says: cookies are disabled, enable cookies to continue. I tried changing my settings in Firefox - Options - Settings - Privacy - Use custom settings. I did exactly what I was advised in the Firefox Help online, enabled everything, then clicked OK. Didnt work. Tried it again and I only found that the settings (custom settings - enabled everything) were not even saved. I am not able to save these custom settings any way, it never saves them no matter how many times I try and click ok, I come back to the setting to find that they are not there. So I tried clearing all the cookies and cache in history (also found this online in firefox support site), guess what? DIDNT WORK. I am starting to be a little bit pissed off as I cannot log into my gmail or facebook account for over two weeks now! Any time I need to check e-mails I have to use someones laptop.

I am working on a php app and spent hours scouring through code because when I log off the site it should set the cookies to expire an hour ago. Then when you log in it should create new cookies of course. So when I logged off one account and into another it was pulling up cookies that should have expired and changing account information for another account because of this. Tried to recreate the same problem in chrome doesn't happen only in fire fox. Any ideas?

This request pops through out the day. The actual file is (UpdateTask.exe.). The address is 199.7.52.72: Port 80. What is purpose of this file? Do I need to allow it to update? If it is not needed, how can I block or delete it?

i cant turn on the coockies when i go to the tools --->options--->privacy and choose use custom sitting for history and click OK. Then o go back nothing changed

When opening gmail, Firefox remembers my old password...normally I just highlight and type over the old password with my new password and enter the account...3 times in the last month, after "typing over" the old password, it reverts itself to the old password and won't allow me to enter gmail...I end up messing with cookies and clearing cache and eventually resetting Firefox...it's a real pain...can anyone tell me what's causing this????
