Hi guys,

I hope that someone may be able to help?

I am currently working on deploying Firefox 50 in an enterprise environment. I have a few SSL Certificates that are required to be used. These are the steps I've taken so far:

  • Generated the cert8.db with a sample profile
  • Copied the cert8.db into C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\browser\defaults\profile
  • Created new profile... profile loaded the correct cert8.db

I then found the cert_override.txt file (needed for a self signed cert) and copied it to the same directory, deleted profile and created another one. The problem is this time it didn't copy the file over...

I re-installed Firefox and deleted profiles many times I now cannot get the new profiles to copy files from \browser\defaults\profile anymore... Has anyone experiencing anything like this, or have any ideas on how to resolve...

It's worth noting that if I manually copy these files into the Firefox profile after generation the certs work as expected.

mozilla security blog mar 25 2011 https://blog.mozilla.org/security/2011/03/25/comodo-certificate-issue-follow-up This is a follow-up to the previous Mozilla report about the fraudulent certificates issued by Comodo last week. On 15th March 2011, a RA partner of the Comodo CA suffered an internal security breach (Comodo incident report). The attacker used the RA’s account with Comodo to cause 9 fraudulent certificates to be issued. The domain names of the certificates were as follows:

   addons.mozilla.org
   login.live.com
   mail.google.com
   www.google.com
   login.yahoo.com (x3)
   login.skype.com
   global truste

(and the rest, see link) I still found all certifacate-domain-names in mozilla I only deleted global trustee. What to do with the rest ?

Hi - We launched a new site www.appyourhome.com - it is wordpress shared hosting with Godaddy. We have an ssl certificate and verified it with them.

I very often am getting this message (shown between **). Godaddy says everything is ok on their site. Is this something to do with the Mozilla browser or what else would I check??

This is about Firefox not from Firefox. Seems to originate from Entrust.net which I never applied for. Trouble started after I downloaded Windows 10 and caught a bunch of trouble from Yahoo, then tried to update Java and got extra sneaky stuff with it. I use Kaspersky, which is apparently sending the message about you and they have taken over my computer trying to fix everything for several hours yesterday and today but still getting the message that Firefox certificate is basically expired. Whatever a certificate is. BTW box with message is still up in the corner, don't know if you can see it.

Firefox is showing the TrustedID site as a deceptive site. This is the site that Equifax is linking to for people to get credit monitoring because of the massive data breach. The site is https://www.equifaxsecurity2017.com/enroll/. If you click the "Begin Enrollment" button, it comes up with the Deceptive Site message. If this is really a deceptive site, there is a massive international problem because tens of millions of people are going to be going there. If it is not deceptive, then Firefox should change this immediately because it will cause Firefox users to avoid getting the protection they need because of the breach.

Since updating to FF57.0.3 some day ago I have the problem that I can't add exceptions to insecure websites (message code SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN). This happens very often when certificates are valide only for the root domain but not for subdomains (as in my case).

Before updating to 57.0.3 it was possible to define exeptions for such websites. But this function is missing now (or I'm unable to find that button).

How can I either add an exception or how can I solve that problem?

My relative has an office with faster speed internet that I usually use on a regular basis to upload lecture videos to my gmail account. For some reason now I've been getting this error code: SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN on every website when I'm using the office modem. Though, when I go back to my home and use my internet everything returns to normal. What can I do in this situation? Thank you. I'm using a mac book pro by the way with Mac OS High Sierra.

Here's an example of what happens when I try to access the Amazon website:

Is there something in the security certificate from a website support server, such as provided by "Tera-byte", that tells me which certificate authority company certified their security certificate? They claim their certificate to be self signed, but both Firefox and Internet Explorer reject connection because their certificate does not comply to RFC 5280, Their certificate expired on Friday, June 30, 2006, 2:09 PM.

They are adamant that their certificate is in compliance and valid, in spite of the help I got from Microsoft in evaluating their certificate.

I have a picture on "dropbox" that shows their certificate data at https://www.dropbox.com/sh/aw9k1iv6pxhtk6k/AAD5uaI52_oQFJS2Xy-R5h9Wa?dl=0

Situation: I am an automation tester working inside a firewall on a server without a valid certificate. I am working on Windows 10 and Windows 7 with Firefox 59.0.2. Chrome and IE allow me access to this website but Firefox refuses. Requirement: I need to make a permanent exception for my test server in Firefox. Problem: When any https://services-sandbox.hopewiser.com pages are opened the "Your connection is not secure" page is displayed and though the Add Exception button allows access to the website at that time, the website is not recorded so can not be used by my Selenium scripts. The Selenium scripts crash as soon as the "Your connection is not secure" page is displayed so I can't click the Advanced and Add Exception button on the screen. On the Add Security Exception I always tick the "Permanently store this exception" before I press the "Confirm Security Exception" button. I have tried doing these steps in "Private mode" and "Restart with Add-ons Disabled" and many other steps mentioned on the web but to no avail.

NB. This page mSupport page would not allow me to add my .png screenshots.

Hello, I'm working with firefox 59.0.2 (64 bits) and trying to create a certificat with http://www.cacert.org. My certificate is correctly created and inserted in the firefox certificate database. I need to use this certificate with my private key in others software (Windows10, Chrome, Edge, Adobe Acrobat pro 9.5.5 and reader DC 18.2304,...) After export the certificate chains including the private, public and root keys PKCS#12 (.P12), I'm trying without success to import the certificate in windows10/certmgr because received a password error message. For information : Reimport the .P12 certificate into firefox certificate database correctly work. Import the .P12 certificate into Acrobat pro 9.5.5 correctly work and sign also work. openssl also work to convert .P12 file to pem then pem to .pfx resulting .pfx file then is correctly import to windows10/certmgr : This currently my only workaround solution.

openssl info on .P12 return :

===========

MAC:sha1 Iteration 1000000 PKCS7 Data Shrouded Keybag: pbeWithSHA1And3-KeyTripleDES-CBC, Iteration 1000000 PKCS7 Encrypted data: pbeWithSHA1And40BitRC2-CBC, Iteration 1000000 Certificate bag Certificate bag

openssl info on .Pfx return :

===========

MAC:sha1 Iteration 2048 PKCS7 Encrypted data: pbeWithSHA1And40BitRC2-CBC, Iteration 2048 Certificate bag Certificate bag PKCS7 Data Shrouded Keybag: pbeWithSHA1And3-KeyTripleDES-CBC, Iteration 2048

My questions : Why do I have to use openssl to convert my certificate to be able to import it to windows10/certmgr ? What is exactly firefox PKCS#12 export ciphers type ? Why Iteration = 1000000 for firefox export and 2048 for openssl output, could it be the culprit ? Is there other possible culprit ? (Order of openssl info out lines not the same) Is it possible to configure the firefox export to be compatible with windows10/certmgr ?

I start using FireFox instead of Google Chrome, but looks like I have no choice but to go back to Chrome because of constant problems with printing. And I am not even talking about the problems with SSL that I have to download and install the certificates one by one for each websites I am using. I did search everywhere and saw that I am not the only one and this problem is a permanent resident of all forums. All other browsers are working perfectly well, and just the FireFox can't get the problem fixed for over 10 years now. I have tried all support remedies and nothing is working. Deleting, resetting, you name it I have done it. In some remote forum found about the print.paper.data value setting, changing it from 256 to 1. Right now it worked and I will see if it will come back tomorrow. When I reset the setting the print.paper.data setting disappears. So resetting was not the best choice.
