I love using sidebar and all, but it's been about a year. Yet I can't reduce the window width on Windows after the window size reached a certain point. It's just capped at a certain minimum width size. Is there really no way to reduce the width further? As someone who used split screen or tiling window very often, this is driving me to frustation a bit because of the constant windows overlapping.

Kannada Unicode ligatures (ottaksharas) not rendering correctly in Firefox 142.0.1 on macOS

When viewing Kannada text in Firefox 142.0.1 (64-bit) on macOS [your version], conjunct letters (ottaksharas/ligatures) do not display correctly. Instead of showing combined forms like ಶ್ರೀ (shri), ತ್ವ (tva), ತ್ರ (tra), the characters appear split into individual glyphs.

This issue is browser-specific:

In Safari and Chrome, the same text renders properly with correct Kannada shaping.

In Firefox, the ligatures fail to render, making Kannada text appear broken and unreadable.

Apple Support confirmed that the system rendering is fine and advised reporting this to Firefox.

Example text (should be tested): ಚೊಕ್ಕಾಡಿ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕೋತ್ಸವ

Here is the problem I have: I'm using Linux Mint 22.2 Cinnamon 6.4.8, which has a feature of **Dragging Maximum Window titlebar makes Window Restore Down/Unmaximum**, which also is a feature that Windows has since Vista. I don't like this feature so I disabled it on Windows, but when I tried to disable it on Linux Mint, I realize the setting was broken for a very long time. Only Window to Maximum can be prevented but not Unmaximum.

I think the Linux Mint Developer will not fix it, so what I can do is only to **Just not drag Maximum Window's Titlebar** Here is the issue: **Firefox consider toolbar/bookmark as a part of its titlebar.** When I click or drag the gaps of toolbar, it is considered as titlebar. When this happens, the Maximum Firefox Window gets unmaximum, which is very annoying.

Here is a video I recorded to explain it: <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_K7y7MRRKy4>

Is there a way to make the toolbar not a part of titlebar?

I am a Chinese user of Firefox for at least 7 years.

Recently I bought a macbook and I found that in add-ons setting page [about:addons], there is a blank near by text. It is scroll button actually, but it is so ugly. And on Windows system, there is no such problem. I thought it might be due to default font of macOS.

So please help me settle such problem.

Hi,

It doesn't appear there is a way to increase the font size in the browser sidebar. I am using Claude there the output is very difficult to read. I know how to use shortcuts or mouse motions to increase on the main page, but those done appear to do anything in the sidebar.

Can I request this feature somewhere?

Thanks, Pat

After upgrading to Windows 11 I noticed that emoji characters are causing text lines to become blurred or bold on websites, also in developer tools. This never used to happen on Windows 10. Is there any way to fix this?

I am using Firefox 142.0 Note I have also disabled 'Smooth edges of screen fonts' in Windows performance options and display scale is at 100%.
