Hello there; I had installed the "savefrom.net" extension. This extension automatically generated the website address to the "bookmarks toolbar". I deleted the extension and deleted the shortcut as well. But when the bookmarked website shortcut "firefox" is closed and reopened, it adds itself to the bookmarks toolbar again. No matter what I did, it didn't work. I don't want to delete Firefox completely and reinstall it. Because there are too many shortcuts and data that I use all the time. How do you think I can solve this problem?

Good morning, Recently I discovered there are two maps called "Andere bladwijzers" in my Firefox browser. I deleted a submap in the second map and noticed this submap had also disappeared in the first map. Is there something I must do or can I leave these two large maps as it is? I think this started after my most recent upgrade - I'm currently on 108.0.1, but I suspect it was an upgrade from 107, not just from 108.0 (I use PortableApps and only upgrade through PA, and it takes time for PA to prep new versions of app, so sometimes short-lived versions are skipped, and the 108.0.1 changelog only mentions one tiny bug fix). When trying to access a bookmark or folder on my bookmarks toolbar, nothing happens (color change or tooltip on hover, nor clicking) unless the mouse is at the very bottom edge of the button area, well below where the icon and text are. Is this happening to anyone else? I use the bookmarks toolbar heavily, so this is very annoying.

I export all my passwords to usb, went to other computer and ........................... needed a 2e browser (edge) to import them?? How to import passwords from usb-stick to firefox? Is this even possible? i cannot find anything to import them.!

When I bookmark something, I often apply tags. I have noticed that when I use a very long tag, combined with many tags, it prevents tags being used. For example, the word "internationalization" prevents tags being stored.

A bookmark that is tagged like this: one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen fourteen internationalization will not have its tags saved.

However, this is stored successfully: one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen internationalization

This also stores successfully: 'one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen fourteen fifteen sixteen'

Over the past two days, I have found if I create a new tab, the shortcuts that I had saved on that page have all disappeared. Does Firefox keep a backup of these shortcuts? Unlike related support messages I've read, my bookmarks and bookmarks toolbar are unaffected.

These shortcuts (about 16 of them) took quite a while to accumulate, and it is frustrating to see that they can just simply disappear like that.

I am running Firefox 108.0.2 (64-bit) on Windows 10).

Using Firefox version 99.0 (64bit). When I click "Bookmarks / Manage Bookmarks, the listing defaults to the "Other Bookmarks" folder. I would like it to default to the "Bookmarks Menu" folder. How do I make it do that?

Hi, I've had Firefox 64 bit running on Windows for a while and recently was given a newer machine where I installed a newer version of the OS. I put the old HDD's as slaves in this new machine. So the old FF is in the slave machine.

I have also installed new Firefox on this new Win10 LTSC, but when I go looking in my now slave HDD I can see FF, but cannot see any bookmarks. Additionally, when I run the FF executable in the old HDD it still runs the new FF, without the old bookmarks.

So how can I extract the old bookmarks on the older FF? Without withdrawing the now slave HDD and making it a master again? As it's now missing most of the OS files too.

I'm a gamer and alt+tab considerably often. Most of the time I end up on FireFox because I need to look at a map or browse reddit while I'm in queue. However, whenever I alt+tab frequently a bookmark will get selected as if I am clicking and dragging. The bookmarks on the bookmark tool bar always end up in different places. Is there a way to lock these links in place so I can't move them or do I have to resign myself to fixing it every day?

Hi all; once again and seemingly too often, a Win 10 BSOD and Firefox was reset and where are my bookmarks ? Normally I had them on the LHS of the page but this is getting too much as I cannot find them anymore. Can someone give me a nudge to where I can find them ? rJ

I'm using Firefox 100 on Win10 and can't save any bookmarks. They do NOT appear under the App Data Profile, which would not be acceptable even if they were. This change has made it impossible for me to continue using Firefox, unless I want to go back to Win7.

I simply need Bookmarks to work the way they did before!

Sometimes I want to know which bookmark folder I've saved a particular bookmark in. I don't necessarily want to go to that site, I just want to know where I've saved it. The options provided do not include which folder it's in. The list offered is: name, tags, location, most recent visit date, visit count, added, last modified. How can I which folder I put it in?

Hello, I upgraded my windows 8.1 system with firefox on it to windows 10. The windows 10 upgrade saved my windows 8.1 files. I installed firefox on windows 10. I deleted the files created by the install in the folder 'profiles'. When I copy my old firefox profile contents into that firefox profile folder, firefox does not pickup my bookmarks and extensions as I had hoped. Is it possible to get firefox to recognize my old profile contents? Thanks, Doug

Firefox updated to 106.0.2 (64-bit). When I press ctrl-B, my bookmarks appear on the browser's left side as expected. However the text is not visible. If I hover my mouse over an icon is the list for a bookmark, the link appears. Also not all the bookmark icons appear. There are gaps between bookmarks on the list. Again, I have to hover my mouse over those gaps for bookmark info to appear. How do I make my bookmark list readable/usable again?

I am not too good with the computer and have just starting using Firefox. I will do my best to describe my question so please bar with me. I have 2 rows of websites that I frequent...actually only using the first row and 5 spaces in the second row. When I go to a different website Firefox is automatically adding that website to one of the boxes in the second row which I do not want. How do I stop this? Question 2...using Ebay as an example...if I keep searching on Ebay and have looked at lets say 5 different pages how do I go back to the home screen without having to hit the back button 6 times? Before I took my computer to a repair facility and had to reinstall Firefox, my recent activity bar had all the websites I use and wanted quick access to along one lovely line. Now I have a bunch of "suggested" crap Firefox must be getting paid for along my recent activity bar. I've never visited these pages and selecting the menu trying to dismiss them doesn't work. How do I eliminate the sponsored sites and get what I want along the recent activity bar?

I have a couple of desktop/laptop devices synced with the same account. When I make a backup/export of my bookmarks in each device (.json/.html files) the checksums of those files don't coincide between devices. Nevertheless, if I open the exported HTMLs in Firefox and save them as Text Files, the resultant files have all the same checksum (sha256sum), i.e., are all the same.

Is this how it is supposed to be? Or should my bookmarks JSON/HTML files be exactly the same in all devices and something is wrong?

Hey !! Mozilla, I just updated ....What happened to the compact mode for Bookmarks..Now they are double spaced they take up too much room.. Bring back compact mode or I will have to find another browser that enables a compact mode. Infuriating.

I added an Add-On to try it called [by Firefox by Mozilla Firefox] Notes by Firefox by Mozilla Firefox which I have since removed as the Add-On has corrupted my Bookmarks. When I click 'Show Sidebars' my Bookmarks don't show (thought they are there) but it's as though the font is white making it impossible to see them.

If I click Bookmarks I can see them and/or when I click on Manage Bookmarks that option opens and I can see all my Bookmarks. This only happened after I added "Notes by Firefox by Mozilla Firefox" Add-On. I was thinking there could be possibility it could have been caused by changing the appearance to Dark Mode, (for example Facebook or Twitter, etc).

There must be a better fix then to refresh / restore Firefox to its default settings as I have about 90 Tabs Open
