Still not always saving a page to my selected folder. However, if after clicking the "Star", I first select the location "Show your bookmarks", then to back to to selecting the folder into which I wish to save the page, it will then put that page into the folder of my choice. What settings do I need to have in place so that I do not have to do this double step to get the system to save a page in my selected folder? Let me know if I should just start over, uninstall Fire Fox, I have saved all my book marks and exported in the two formats, then reinstall the program. Thanks in advance for any solution. JJE

I don't know how to get to my prior question to update it I submitted a support question a short time ago about Firefox manage bookmarks using Waterfox version. I now think I could have been duped by the colour of the window bar. I have also found that firefox manage bookmarks does not show individual bookmarks that are not in folders - in the left pane. This also threw me. However, when I click on Bookmarks menu in left pane, the individual bookmarks are all shown in the RHS pane. I have done a quick check and the list does not contain at least two bookmark folders that are in my Waterfox bookmarks - I did not try to check all. I now think there is no problem. Interested whether anyone else has raised this. MY SUGGESTION - in the past I am confident that manage bookmarks function did not use waterfox color. In the next update try to change the manage bookmarks function window to a color different to Waterfox colors. This may not be possible if waterfox simply inherits the manage bookmarks function code incl colors.

Prior question text pasted here for completeness Yesterday I was using both Firefox and Waterfox. Since then when I try to use manage bookmarks in Firefox - I get the waterfox version of manage bookmarks showing the waterfox bookmarks list. Is there a way to get the firefox manage books back again

Since the update to Firefox 146.0.1. on December 20th 2025, I cannot save any new bookmarks or organize the existing ones. I used CCleaner 7 but uninstalled it because there seemed to be a problem. But that hasn't changed anything for me. When I checked the integrity of Places Database, this is what I got:

A while back I deleted some bookmarks on my mobile phone which is the only device currently connected to my account. But I recently tried to bookmark several pages and it says I already have the pages bookmarked but it isn't in any of my mobile app bookmark pages and if I try to edit the supposed bookmark I just get a blank screen. I can bookmark other pages fine, it's just these specific phantom bookmarks don't work. I've deleted browsing data in the app, I've cleared the app cache in my phones settings, I have the latest update for the mobile app. But nothing has worked

Is this a known issue and if so how do I fix it?

All these years, when I bookmark a page, that bookmark used to, then, be at the bottom of bookmarks. I assume that means the bookmarks were sorted by the date they were bookmarked. Lately, that is completely gone. When I bookmark a page, who knows WHERE it sits in that long bookmark list?!? It's THERE if I search on it but it used to be so handy... it was right there at the bottom of the bookmark 'manage' page!! Am I missing a date tag or something??? SO annoying. Thanks.

Had trouble getting Bookmarks to look like I had on the old disk. I reinstalled the old disk and went to FireFox and downloaded the Bookmarks in a HTML file on a memory stick. Shut system down. Reinstall the new SSD disk and tried to "install" bookmarks under Manage Bookmarks, but I could not get the Bookmarks to show up on the space below the main Search HTML box. And my most recent websites found are now ABOVE the main Search HTML box. And ABOVE that is: "Get Support | Mozilla Support...... " It just all looks/feels different. I think in the old Firefox days, the line below was called Bookmarks Toolbar ? I can live with this, but I've spent 45 minutes trying to get 'the old way'. Now on that line below the main Search HTML box is also "Other Bookmarks", where I used to keep any site that was not on Bookmark Toolbar. Now this "Other Bookmarks" contains only one Tab called "FireFox Privacy", not any of my old "Other Bookmarks", that I thought I "Imported". I wish that my saved file that I "Export Bookmarks to a HTML.." did, when imported, that I would have been asked "Do you want your Imported Bookmarks to be installed exactly the way you had them when they were Exported?" Also I was on Linux Mint 22.2 on the first disk and also on Linux Mint 22.2 on my new SSD disk.

your recent upgrade removed my side panel search bookmarks except those that have icons ( icons only)! No description of icon. Those that don't have icons have links but can't read with out hovering for seconds. Impossible to find links quickly!

We have a need to change the name on some bookmarks that we push out via GPO but despite updating the ADMX it is not working. Does this only work for Firefox for Enterprise or does the normal Firefox abide by these settings?

Just bought my new Acer Lap Top Downloaded Firefox on it. Trying to bookmark some of my sites. It first let me bookmark them. Now they have all disappeared and it will no longer let me bookmark anything. Can anyone please help me?

my windows 10 PC was saving my bookmarks perfectly and storing in bookmarks after pressing the "save" star (star turns black) until dec 4 but its no longer putting them in the bookmarks menu anymore even though star turned black? then also after numerous attempts to no avail a "edit" pop up came up and after pressing that it did not even come up with the drop down "save" option just a big nothing. I'm using Linux (openSuSE 15.6, latest updates). The system has multiple monitors and for daily work I've two instances of FF running - on every monitor a different one.

After login both instances will be started simultaneously and try to access the bookmarks configuration. This simultaneous access seems to prevent the bookmarks configuration to be loaded. Instead, FF informs that bookmarks shall be loaded from some place.

This behavior should be corrected.
