Somehow 'totaladblock.com' has become 'entangled' with my Firefox browser. When I am using Firefox it keeps coming up with messages inviting me take up offers to block adverts. These messages obscure what is on the screen: I can reject them but they come back in about 10 seconds. I have not been able to find a way of permanently eliminating them. Please Help. Regards, W. Nock

Is there a way to use "search engine shortcut" without query just to go to a website of the appropriate search-engine?

So as, for example, after writing "g" (or "g"+space) in the search bar and pressing Enter, firefox opened the url "https://www.google.com/search?q=" (or something like that).

It used to work this way in older versions of Firefox (before 83), but since then firefox just searches "g" with the default search engine. Or it "eats" the shortcut (after pressing space) and turns it into a "blue/gray search engine label" but it does not allow me to go to the search engine web without writing some query that I need to remove afterwards.

I was using this feature as a sort of bookmark shortcuts to "custom" search engine websites (I'm using tens of them for debugging purposes and often need to fill in some additional parameters to the "text" query - often even to an "empty query").

The closest I got googling was probably "browser.urlbar.update2.emptySearchBehavior" - but it either does not work already, does not do what I'm expecting or I did not come up with the correct value for it.

I usually work with my bookmarks side bar open all the time. Until recently whenever I bookmarked a page it wourld show at the bottom of the 'other bookmarks' section. Now, I seem to have a 'recently bookmarked' section where everything goes. (Possibly I always had this section - just never used it!). If I move a newly arrived bookmark either to one of my saving folders or to or the 'other bookmarks' and then delete it from the 'recently bookmarked' section the bookmark in the folder is deleted as well. I'd like to go back to my simple life please..............

After a crash and reboot where I lost my bookmarks, I discovered a "file" of them in a folder I had created for another purpose on my desktop. I don't know how they got there! file:///C:/Users/Alan/OneDrive/Desktop/MECHANICS/bookmarks.html Perhaps saved in OneDrive and migrated somehow during reboot? Anyway, is there a way to transfer these into my newly downloaded Firefox browser? Thanks!

My Bookmarks will not load up? It's like the links are dead? It isn't just Bookmarks either. I'm having trouble getting my WP sites to respond when I click on various things that I am working on. I hate to do this, but I will have to try another browser, if I cannot resolve this quickly.

Just refresh my computer, new install of Firefox, but all of my Bookmarks were missing, a collection of 25 years, all gone. Tried to sync with my XP computer, where the originals were, but it too was empty. Found JSONLZ4 files, two of them, one dated today and one dated yesterday. Both empty, is there any way to recover all those bookmarks?

I cannot find a folder in Bookmarks. When I edit a bookmark I see the folder it in. It is actually a sub folder. I know it is a sub folder of another folder but I dont know what the parent folder is. I want to keep related bookmarks together. I can navigate to one web page in the sub folder from memory so I can see the folder it is in but have no way of determining the parent folder.

Prior to FF 94.0.2 saving a bookmark opened an option to select the folder in which it was to be placed. With 94.0.2 the bookmark is saved directly to the last folder selected with no option to select a folder. I have to perform an extra action immediately to edit the bookmark location. If this isn't done before closing the tab I have no way of finding the bookmark again. Please revert

OK. someone kindly offered me a new-to-me computer and claimed that they had transferred everything to the newish one. Well, what they did was take my umpteen gazillion desktop shortcuts and place them all in "bookmarks menu". EEK.` That's way too many. So I exported them to an html file/link/firefox internet shortcut on the desktop called "bookmarks.html". Worked swell. However, the bookmarks menu went along. It no longer appears under"bookmarks" on the menu bar. I was able to get it onto the toolbar. (star in tray). If I click on that, and then select "bookmarks sidebar", what appears in the sidebar is perfect. Just like new. But on the menu bar, on the dropdown menu under "bookmarks", no "bookmarks menu".

I can live with this BUT I really don't want to BECAUSE there are bizillion bookmarks in the bookmarks menu. I need to send them someplace (or gather them into a NEW folder, so that I can add newly created bookmarks and be all neat and organized.

How do I put the "bookmarks menu" that shows on the sidebar back under "bookmarks" ??? How do I get the bizillion bookmarks off of "bookmarks menu"? Is there a "select all", then "delete"? I don't want to lose the ones in the html folder on the desktop. I am happy with them being in an html folder on my desktop. Should I change the name of the html link to XYZ.html?

I just do not understand how the sidebar can look perfect but the menu bar doesn't.

Help, please !

I used Apple Migration Assistant to move the entirety of my wife's old iMac (the old computer won't accept updates, so her machine was not secure) to a new one. The migration operation appeared smooth and essentially perfect.

Somehow my Bookmarks have overwritten my wife's (years ago, I turned Synch = ON, was that it? Synch is OFF now). The bookmarks are still OK on the old computer, so how do I locate and move that info to the new machine "AND BE SURE TO GET IT RIGHT"? My wife is the family business manager, so her bookmarks are Insurance, Banking, Healthcare, etc.

I've done some searching, but there are thousands of posts, I can't wade through all of that.
