I recently uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it directly from the microsoft store as it was very slow (probably due to not being updated) and I am sad to see all my bookmarks and important information is gone. Is there any way I can restore it? Thank you in advance.

when i go to manage bookmarks i can go to views and sort them by last added, how do i make it, so that when i go to the bookmark drop down menu from the top of the screen so also list the bookmarks in order of last added?

Before, when I started to write an address, firefox did not remember and I have to write it. That was fine. Now, it remembers everything and everything is kept in the history despite I close the private and open it again. Any other person can open the private again and see the last thing you were doing. No real private browsing, no fun

I have noticed that, when searching for bookmark tags in the Firefox (current) search bar, I often am unable to see all results for a specific tag. I found a partial solution here:

This has enabled me to show (on my screen) a max of 23 results. This is OK, but I've frequently got more than 23 bookmarks tagged with a specific tag. So I can't see them. I need a way to scroll through the search results.

Another way of asking this might be: How can I do a tag search and see all bookmarks so tagged?

My laptop died. I purchased a new one and pulled the SSD drive from the dead laptop and hooked it up to the new laptop with a SATA to USB cable and have access to the drive now. How do I pull all the information that was in Firefox (bookmarks, open tabs when laptop died, etc.) from the old drive to the new laptop?

I feel this can only be corrected by an adjustment to the version, am on 122.0.1 as the latest update. My O/S Linux Mint Mate v20.0.3. Have NOT been to any schooling or even just a class for any training, all done as my curiosity has driven me to learn on my own, Self-taught and have been working with CPU`s for over 35 years, I am 84...

Getting to this point has been a rather long drawn-out process that has been a bit confusing hope this info is acceptable.

What happened to "recent bookmarks"??? I is no longer available....why???? I need it back, as I used it all the time and my bookmarks were very easy to locate. Now I have no idea where a bookmark is, that was even bookmarked an hour ago.

Firefox has been my default browser for longer than I can remember. Over the years, I have maintained a significant bookmark file for work. I recently purchased a new computer, and my zero bookmarks from the new computer have replaced all of the bookmarks that I had in my old browser. This is a bookmark file that has successfully followed me through multiple computers and even my ios devices. And now it seems to be completely gone. I've looked at the places.sqlite files, and the largest one is 20MB and is in my current default profile, but it is dated today. That makes no sense because I do not have any bookmarks on this older computer, and my new computer doesn't have any either. The bookmarks have also been completely deleted from my iPad, but miraculously are still on my iPhone (evidently I had signed out of Firefox for iPhone at some point so they do exist somewhere.) The thought of trying to rebuild my bookmarks is nauseating. My only thought is to sign out of the browser on all devices, then sign back in and sync on the phone. Would that repopulate the main file with what's on my phone? Any other ideas?

Hi, I have a lot of bookmarks that are specifically made to always open in a specific container.

After updating to 121 I'm always asked if I want to open the URL in a container.

How can I get rid of the question and just always assume "Yes"?

I purchased a new computer, and they were to transfer all my stuff from my old computer, but they told me that my bookmarks are in a file that they cannot open. I would like to be able to get to them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

When you add a new bookmark to a folder it's added at the end of the existing list.

Is there a way to make Firefox add it at the top of the list, instead?

I found an old answer, but, sadly, the extension granting my wish is no longer.

Also, I already know about sorting, but it's not what I need, because I'm doing a lot of manual bookmarks reordering and sorting will nullify it.

they disappeared one day and have not returned. Finally uninstalled fir fox and nothing came back the new homepage and bookmark arrangement is inadequate. How do I get the old one back?

Every time I try to import either json file or html file firefox crashes. I tried a refresh and same thing. This file is coming from another computer. I have tried synching but that fails too even though I am logged into same account. I get no error on synchs, it just does nothing.

I have installed the Firefox browser (latest version) on my MacbookPro and on a MacbookAir. How can I synchronize the bookmarks? Is this possible with iCloud? Thank you!!!

I imported my bookmarks, but they're not displaying in the bookmarks toolbar. I've tried hiding it and unhiding and restarting the program/my computer. The imported bookmarks can be seen when I go to "recent bookmarks" in the manage your bookmarks section. It also says that they're listed in the bookmarks menu, but they're not visible outside of the manage bookmarks settings window.
