Good day.

Im having an issue with my Firefox developer Eidition (v 117.0b9 -64bit), where im not able to "paste" text on whatsapp web since 18th Aug 2023. (pasting imgs is fine though)

Tested other ways to paste using right click / Ctrl+V but it didnt work.. and if i copy something from same whatsapp and re-apply paste, also does not work (again to remind, only pasting text does not work) !

Checking though other browsers "Edge" seems to be ok and i was able to "paste" text normally. I hv yet to check on the issue on normal Firefox Browser.

Using Windows 10. Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8550U CPU @ 1.80GHz 1.99 GHz RAM 32.0 GB

Since other browsers did not have this issue, i thought of raising this for Firefox devs to hv a look at it. Maybe some update done recently caused this glitch. So im doing my part in sharing feedback to improve an open source software which i use.

Thank you for the amazing browser.

Client type : desktop Firefox Developer Edition Client version : 117.0b9 (64bits) Client language : Korean OS type : Windows 10 Home 22H2 OS version : 19045.3208

Steps to reproduce : 1. Run Firefox Developer Editon. 2. Try searching using the navigation bar on the home screen. 3. Enjoy that nothing happens.

Expected Result : Happy life at Firefox

Actual Result: Tedious LOADING

I've been using Firefox Developer Edition for the past two years without problems. From some point on(about 1 week ago), All browser's search functions suddenly don't work. Navigation bar? Not work. Searchig from Bookmark? Not work. Do not use google? Not work even with duckduckgo. with out DNS? Not work even with 142.250.206.206. There is only one website that i can access with Firefox Developer Edition. It is Mozilla's official website At this moments, I curious that "why isnt work>?" So i used Developer tools, And then I found something amazing. There was no request or response on the Network tab! (Of course, I pressed Ctrl + R) And then, on second thought, I found that the JS function that should have been small in the lower left of the browser screen was not displayed. Finally, I thought, hmm... My Firefox is broken! So i found the FireFox, and then i uninstall it, and reinstall it! All the External Plugin works, OK then What if FireFox????? Unfortunately, Firefox Developer Edition's problem remained the same. I'm sorry that i couldn't even give you a possible cause of the problem. But i SUFFER for a week! Please resolve the issue.....

When you open a link from the sidebar while holding ctrl, firefox opens it in a new tab and switches to it immediately; whereas when you click a link from a webpage with ctrl, it does not switch to the new tab (unless you hold shift as well, or check "When you open a link, image or media in a new tab, switch to it immediately" in settings > general > tabs). I would like if firefox does not automatically switch to opened links from the sidebar (history, bookmark, etc.), when I open them with ctrl? (I know I can hold shift to do that, but I was wondering if there might be a preference in about:config to change the reverse this behaviour for sidebars)

Thanks, Ibr.

I use Kubuntu 23.04 with Firefox from mozillateam/ppa apt repository, got update to FF 119 today (package 119.0+build1-0ubuntu0.23.04.1~mt1) and after the update Firefox stopped using system-wide installed fonts (either from /usr/share/fonts or from ~/.local/share/fonts).

So for example fc-list finds Gentium Plus (/usr/share/fonts), Iosevka and Junicode (~/.local/share/fonts) on my system: % fc-list -f '%{family}: %{file}\n' | rg -i 'gentium plus:' Gentium Plus: /usr/share/fonts/truetype/gentiumplus/GentiumPlus-Italic.ttf Gentium Plus: /usr/share/fonts/truetype/gentiumplus/GentiumPlus-BoldItalic.ttf Gentium Plus: /usr/share/fonts/truetype/gentiumplus/GentiumPlus-Bold.ttf Gentium Plus: /usr/share/fonts/truetype/gentiumplus/GentiumPlus-Regular.ttf % fc-list -f '%{family}: %{file}\n' | rg -i 'iosevka:' Iosevka: /home/silmeth/.local/share/fonts/iosevka/iosevka.ttc Iosevka: /home/silmeth/.local/share/fonts/iosevka/iosevka.ttc Iosevka: /home/silmeth/.local/share/fonts/iosevka/iosevka.ttc Iosevka: /home/silmeth/.local/share/fonts/iosevka/iosevka.ttc % fc-list -f '%{family}: %{file}\n' | rg -i 'junicode:' Junicode: /home/silmeth/.local/share/fonts/junicode/otf/Junicode-Bold.otf Junicode: /home/silmeth/.local/share/fonts/junicode/otf/Junicode-Regular.otf Junicode: /home/silmeth/.local/share/fonts/junicode/otf/Junicode-Italic.otf Junicode: /home/silmeth/.local/share/fonts/junicode/otf/Junicode-BoldItalic.otf

but when I try to apply the style `font-family: Gentium Plus`, `font-family: Iosevka`, or `font-family: Junicode` to an element, Firefox doesn’t use those fonts and instead in the element inspector I see Noto Serif is being used instead.

Before the update the appropriate system fonts were being chosen for rendering by Firefox.

Firefox just updated itself to v106 (x64). Opening Microsoft outlook web mail (https://outlook.office.com/mail/) gives me the opening envelope between 5 & 10 times, then an error screen that says "multiple redirects detected". Hitting the 'refresh' link works fine, and no trouble after that, so maybe a sign in issue? Seems to be a new problem; didn't happen yesterday.

Hi,

I'm using FF on Fedora 39.

However Firefox does not remember any file associations. The MimeTypes.rdf file in the profile is missing and is also not created on restarting the browser.

In the options I've now set the configuration to "Ask whether to open or save files". Now I see a popup when clicking on a file however there is no checkbox with "remember this file associations" (or something similiar).

Hi,

im getting unknown issuer on my thin-clients with a FF ESR 45.9.0. This FF is tied to the OS (Ubuntu 16.04) and the OS is the most recent compatible version for our version of the thin-clients. So yeah its super old and I'm not able to update any of this. There is no security.enterprise_roots.enabled option available. What would be the best way to solve this issue for ~400 clients. Thanks in Advance Regards Tekkion

I've just updated to Firefox 125 and now, when I start to type in the URL bar and get my suggestion dropdown of previously visited pages, I no longer can see the actual url for each entry. All I see is the top level name for each entry.

This is not helpful, as I may have perviously visited a number of pages on that site and the information shown does not give me a way to differentiate sufficiently between those pages.

How can I get the exact url displayed on the suggestions dropdown.

How can I get those top level descriptions NOT displayed, so that only the urls are shown?

Took me a long time to nail this issue down. Recently (past 1-2 years?), Firefox has started suggesting the base website when you have bookmarks that include the base domain - and it's really bothersome from a UX perspective. E.g. if i have "adobe.com/express" or any other adobe bookmarks, the FIRST autocompleted url Firefox gives me is "adobe.com" which I DO NOT have as a bookmark. In my Firefox settings I also have Shortcuts and other search suggestions disabled.

Why is Firefox doing this?
