When I first open Firefox I have noticed the past few days that if I try to click on anything on the menu bar right away I get a not responding error message and I have to end up shutting the program down. If I wait a few minutes the menu bar does work normally.

What are your best tips for optimizing Firefox Desktop for daily use, especially in terms of speed, memory management, and handling multiple tabs without affecting overall system performance?

Hi there, each time I run firefox, a new firefox icon like the attached picture shows up. Now there are several of them. This starts to crowd the dock, also I'm not sure why they are there because I already have a firefox icon in the main dock. Also they are not windows of a firefox window. Clicking on them does nothing.

Please view screen captures that best show the random issues I have with Firefox browser. This started a few months ago on my desk top PC. I have kept my Firefox up to date using 147.0.1. and still run WIN 10 Home. Although I am sure Linux is in my future!

The issue happens randomly where the top row of my browser disappears off my screen. I can work around the issue no problem but would like to know and understand the issue and if I can resolve it from happening. Firefox is the only app I have this issue with. And it is random and cannot be forced, I have tried....

Lately when I reconnect to my Mac laptop after a period of sleep, the Firefox browser windows are unresponsive. It seems to be receiving input but does not update the display. I have to quit and reopen Firefox to get it to work again. The menu works, I am able to quit, so it's not like the whole app is frozen. Plus, if I clicked on the "new tab" icon while it was unresponsive, those new tabs show up open after I quit and reopen the browser.

So, i am having two issues. when i click on notification icon fiverr.com the tab freezes. Also i am not finding the refresh firefox option in troubleshooting. i am using ryzen 9 8945hx with 5070.

Whenever I wake my mac from sleep, Firefox is unresponsive. I believe the app is not dead, just not repainting the window. Sometimes if I 'hide' Firefox window behind some other app window, then bring it back to top, it'll re-paint.

For a while I fixed the issue by disabling GPU usage in firefox. But now, even that isn't helping. Then for a while, removing and reconnecting the USB-C connection to my external monitor would fix it, but now that doesn't help.

Have to quit firefox completely and relaunch. Then the app is working again.

Using Firefox 146.0.1 (64-bit) on Mac (2.4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 4 GB, Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB, 16 GB 2667 MHz DDR4, macOS 15.7.3)

When I wake up Firefox from sleep overnight, it is unresponsive until I force quit. I am on v147.0.4 on my M4 Mac Mini. It doesn't happen in shorter sleep periods. I can click something in it and then when I switch to another app, it responds. But the browser on normal interactions won't respond at all.

after the mentioned update about a week ago, I experience quite some system slowness. Building up new pages takes between 30 and 60 seconds each, and some live streams are interrupted (3 seconds running, 3 seconds stop, 3 seconds running, etc.). This has never happened before. My Internet connection is good (confirmed by the provider), and using Google Chrome, all is as it should be, no slowness, no disruptions.

Can anybody advise, what the cause(s) could be, and how to solve these issues? Please let me know, if you need more information.

I really would like to continue using Firefox.

App is unusable. Freezes up frequently. Tried downloading again. Same problem. I am using Chrome temporarily and it is working just fine. Also ran Safari, no problem. Used it to download ESR 115. Worked fine. Definitely a Firefox problem.

Bogged down, slow: Win11 task manager(TM) shows more FF browsers than reality. Have 11 FF browsers in use but TM says 55 climbing to 77.... numbers vary up & down! but never accurate to what is in use. Attempted fixes: cleared cookies, ' Refresh', uninstall/reinstall. Troubleshooting Information: Application Basics said "Profile folder" click "Open Profile' for FF ...but no FF in that list. Tried 'clear Startup cache' and it jumped to 82 after... so worse. How do I get a true number of browsers open and not these 'extras'. Thanks in advance..

My Firefox for multiple profiles. After opening one and downloading emails it freezes after a minute or two. I have been using Firefox for years, I am using it on a desktop Windows 11 Pro- version 140.60esr. I have donated to Firefox for a number of years. I have gone into the profile and deleted the extension .msf. It did not correct the problem is still freezes. How can I fix the problem. Many thanks.

Whenever I open a new firefox page externally, such as from the system tray or by opening a link from outside firefox, nothing happens for about five seconds and then it loads normally. When I open a new firefox page internally, such as from file ---> new window or by clicking a link within firefox, it loads instantly like normal. This has been happening since yesterday (3/13/26) evening.

I have already tried all of the following fixes and none have done anything:

Clearing firefox startup cache running firefox in troubleshoot mode running an older version of firefox disabling all my extensions disabling my antivirus disabling hardware acceleration disabling captive portal detection making sure both firefox and windows 11 are fully updated refreshing firefox reinstalling firefox rebooting my PC disabling IPv6 preventing accessibility devices from accessing my browser clearing my cookies

I've used Firefox for years, but recently Firefox is unusable on Mac OS 15.7.2 because it's hogging all the RAM over time. I get a spinning beachball on my MacBook Pro. I look at the RAM being used and it's even over what I have in the computer. I have and always keep Firefox updated to the latest version.

The screen on the monitor flickers when I clip on the page. To stop it from flickering is to click outside the page which means I cannot use the full page. currently I'm using window 11.

After update tahoe 26.1 update on mac firefox keeps stalling are they fixing this before i switch? I have a lot of tabs and things here but if you keep freezing I am going to switch. Are they fixing this? I already did all the things you suggest online. It freezes, and I can't keep this up?

I am having trouble downloading documents. They never finish loading and if they do I cannot download them to a file. Also when I exit firefox it isn't closing correctly. It brings up the last session. It keeps telling me it is still running even though I am exiting.
