Opening PDFs automatically with Firefox and, without any changes I might make, saving them with the download function in Firefox, actually ruins the functionality and data entry function of that file. Specifically this happens with PDF files downloaded from the (not all that amusing) PDFs from the FINCEN, (US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network). I do not see why and how Firefox thinks it is allowed to change files that are simply downloaded and saved on Firefox.

In other words, it seems that Firefox strips away certain "permissions" and/or "functions" (like built-in lookup, menu or choice boxes). This means that the file so downloaded via Firefox can no longer be used to properly fill in data, or to look up and choose data items within the file. (I see many times that ANYTHING having to do with "permissions" tends to be an intractable and unsolvable problem for software makers & experts, so, if you do not know right away how to solve the problem, it will probably take you several years to figure this out.)

The PDF in question is created by a government agency. If you have ever dealt with a government agency, then you know that they act sort of like Adobe or Microsoft: "They don't respond, or they do respond & say they do not understand, and if they understand, they are either unwilling or unable to fix the problem."

If there is a switch or option within Firefox, which lets me tell Firefox "Save this file exactly like it is received, nothing added or removed!", that would be nice. I just have not found such an option yet, and it would be nice if it might get provided someday.

I will share my browser data, but I am sort of convinced that a detailed question like mine will not be addressed within that shared data.

I am getting messages that I am blocking ads for many of my internet requests. I had never received these before but all of a sudden I started to get them. I have tried a number of things but nothing works.

I am running Windows 11 and do not have any Ad blockers.

ich stelle bei vielen Seiten im Internet fest, daß mit Firefox die Texte nicht richtig dargestellt werden, als ob Übersetzungsfehler vorlägen. Wenn ich zum Vergleich die gleiche Seite im zweiten Monitor paralell auf MS Edge aufrufe erscheint der Text dort richtig dargestellt. Zur Verdeutlichung meines Problems habe ich zwei Screenshots angehängt. Sie erkennen oben eine fehlerfreie Darstellung und unten die gleiche Internet-Seite - zum gleichen Zeitpunkt - mit dem Mozolla Browser.

Was muß ich an welcher Stelle in den Einstellungen von Firefox V146.0.1 für 64 bit auf Windows 11 ändern, damit ich weiterhin bei Euch bleiben kann? Für Eure Unterstützung im Voraus herzlichen Dank. Gruß aus Deutschland/Bayern/Augsburg

Just a question. When I clear the browsing data I always use the same options and clear from 12AM. The result is I have anywhere from 12-22 MB of remaining data. Why is there a difference?

Firefox displays some search results in French. Microsoft Edge shows results only in English. Firefox settings are for English. Google settings are for English. How to fix Firefox or should I uninstall, then reinstall Firefox? Rick

Hi, Recently and despite upating to the latest Firefox Browser, when I try to use BT Email groups it offers it as I type and I select. It then just shows the first character of the group or email surrounded by a red box and a x next to it and doesn't expand into the members of the group. This automatically suplied email recipient address is invalid. I've tried clearing the cache for the webpage to no avail. The problem doesn't occur in the Chrome browser. Kind regards Michael

I need to be able to delete the history on Firefox. I have reinstalled, tried all settings, etc. The delete key does not work anymore. I will be discarding this PC. I have a new WIndows 11 machine. Thank you.

A few days ago (December 17th or so), Firefox just up and stopped loading altogether. I’m trying everything I can find, but to no avail. The internet itself is working fine. This is the message I’m getting (see attached).

I’m getting desperate, I can only do so much on my phone!

On my steam deck, from time to time, the firefox's touchscreen support seems to switch modes.

The symptoms are:

- Instead of scrolling, one-finger touch-and-drag now zooms in and out (depending on direction)
- The touchscreen no longer lets me select or close tabs, or focus or click in-page widgets
- This mode-switch is restricted to the firefox window in which it happens
  - Moving the tab to a new window results in the new window working fine
  - Other existing windows are unaffected (although they may later experience a touch mode switch  event)

I have yet to determine what triggers this switch, nor can I figure out how to undo it.

When a system-wide VPN application (not built into Firefox) is enabled, the behavior of the address bar changes: on the first click, it only shows 5 sites (Top Sites), instead of the usual 9. After pressing the Spacebar, the list from browsing history loads normally. The problem persists after turning off the VPN and only disappears after a full restart of Firefox. I'm using Linux (openSuSE 15.6, latest updates). The system has multiple monitors and for daily work I've two instances of FF running - on every monitor a different one.

After login both instances will be started simultaneously and try to access the bookmarks configuration. This simultaneous access seems to prevent the bookmarks configuration to be loaded. Instead, FF informs that bookmarks shall be loaded from some place.

This behavior should be corrected.

I use Firefox (the current version) on a Dell Windows 11 Pro laptop. I have around 8800 bookmarks, and I've lost around half the tags on my bookmarks. (The bookmarks themselves are OK; I'm losing about half of the tabs.,) This has happened to me twice recently, and I'm restoring the bookmarks as I write these words.(after I'm finished, I'll save two copies of the HTML file for backups. Can anybody tell me why this is happpening, aaand How I can prevent it in the future?

Lorsque j'essaie d'enregistrer une page dans un onglet, cliquer sur l'icône en forme d'étoile crée bien le lien, mais il s'affiche dans je ne sais quel onglet !!!. Il faut pourvoir le retrouver pour le mettre à la bonne place !!! Je souhaiterais pouvoir enregistrer la page où je le souhaite et créer un nouvel onglet au besoin.

When I try to save a page to a tab, clicking the star icon creates the link, but it opens in some unknown tab! I have to find it to put it in the right place! I would like to be able to save the page wherever I want and create a new tab if needed.

The email account I use for my firefox login is now no longer in use, is there anyway I can change the primary email to a different one, I am currently logged in but dont have a back email on my account and if I try to add one it wants to send me a verifaction code to the email I can't access.
