Opening PDFs automatically with Firefox and, without any changes I might make, saving them with the download function in Firefox, actually ruins the functionality and data entry function of that file. Specifically this happens with PDF files downloaded from the (not all that amusing) PDFs from the FINCEN, (US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network). I do not see why and how Firefox thinks it is allowed to change files that are simply downloaded and saved on Firefox.

In other words, it seems that Firefox strips away certain "permissions" and/or "functions" (like built-in lookup, menu or choice boxes). This means that the file so downloaded via Firefox can no longer be used to properly fill in data, or to look up and choose data items within the file. (I see many times that ANYTHING having to do with "permissions" tends to be an intractable and unsolvable problem for software makers & experts, so, if you do not know right away how to solve the problem, it will probably take you several years to figure this out.)

The PDF in question is created by a government agency. If you have ever dealt with a government agency, then you know that they act sort of like Adobe or Microsoft: "They don't respond, or they do respond & say they do not understand, and if they understand, they are either unwilling or unable to fix the problem."

If there is a switch or option within Firefox, which lets me tell Firefox "Save this file exactly like it is received, nothing added or removed!", that would be nice. I just have not found such an option yet, and it would be nice if it might get provided someday.

I will share my browser data, but I am sort of convinced that a detailed question like mine will not be addressed within that shared data.

Swiping left with two fingers is the same as going back, but I keep doing it accidentally. I thought there was a setting for it, but I can not find it now. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

I'm trying to log in on a new machine, but when Firefox sends the 2FA confirmation code, it never arrives. I whitelisted accounts@firefox.com, but that makes no difference. Is there a way to turn off 2FA? Is there another solution?

Running 154.0.1 on MacOS 26.6.1. Sometimes firefox stops working and I think I'm having an internet issue. No page able to load, not even a google search. I see the cache is full at 1gb and I clear cache for the last hour. Browser starts working again. To me, the problem doesn't seem like not enough cache capacity but the browser refusing to evict old, stale cache. How do I fix this other than manually clearing the cache? This seems like a bug that should be fixed.

Because there were so many attempts at password they stopped my default. I read about having to do something but I am an 85 year old woman and I am sorry but I cannot figure out how to get a ton of passwords done one by one. I sincerely hope that this be taken care of because otherwise I have no way of knowing how to get the Xfinity email to work for me.

okay firefox crashed ive been using it for 3 years on steam os . it ussually crashes normally if that makes sense but this time it went poof . it saved one window containing all my browse history bookmarks dverything , i succsessfully transfered the crashed windows to kate windows containing 2.1 megabytes of extremely important data - riht before it crashed again. i am extremely frustrated , it erased all knowledge of me ever being on firefox erasing history bookmarks log ins everything. it is extremely imperative that i get these windows back . ive been battling with ai to fix the problem my last resort is you guys the ones who made firefox. id like to think you guys built something for this exact occasion . please help, you are my last resort and i would be overjoyed if you can help , thank you ,

Firefox unable restore session when switching profiles and instead opening apps installed on the profile I'm switching to.

I have installed Whatsapp web (web.whatsapp.com) on "Profile 1" as a Windows app.

I have some tabs open in "Profile 1" and I switch to "Profile 2" and close the "Profile 1" window with "X" button of Windows 11 but keep the Whatsapp window open.

When I open the "Profile 1" from profile menu, my expectation is that, those previous tabs should be restored, but firefox is opening the Whatsapp web app/window.

OS: Windows 11 23H2 Firefox: 152.0.4

Google YouTube embeds itself in my List-All-Tabs Group and hops from Tab to Tab when I close the Tab it has embedded itself into. See the content of the Tab it is embedding itself into. I've written a description in the image. It's very annoying. Thanks!

Firefox VPN has completely disappeared. Last week it was installed in my browser. Now it has completely gone. It no longer shows up on the tool bar. I can't even click on it to reinstall it. I found the same question asked by another user, but the so-called answers below his questions were useless. They told us how to install it. But it is impossible to install it if the invitation icon is gone.

Prior to recent Firefox updates I would use this browser to open our property's security app Brivo. I would do this by typing 10.10.112.16 into the search window for an open tab. This would then open the application and allow me to then log into the app. This path is no longer accessible. Error message is attached

Why am I suddenly having to login to FF after every PC restart? This happens all the time now, but not on Android. Also, when I log back in I get duplicate emails with the same codes to confirm my details. What is going on?? I have not got FF set to delete data on exit.

I wanted to use a VPN so that my private browsing wouldnt go straight to the router. So I open the Firefox VPN and sign up for a Mozilla account. When I'm finished, it says the VPN panel is open and I should run the VPN, but the panel isnt open. Instead its showing me the Get Started screen again. Ive tried multiple times and asking multiple sources but nothings come up, so I need help here.

Every time I try to print multiple copies of a document (PDF or word, not printing a webpage), the printer instead shrinks the page size to around 1/4 size on normal letter paper.

I have checked all my printer settings, reset firefox printing settings, reset computer printing settings, and gone into all the printer menus directly. Even if the page size is set to 100% size, it will still print as a 1/4 image as long as I am trying to print multiple copies directly from the firefox browser (or Firefox PDF viewer).

I also tested it on multiple printers as well as single vs double sided. On Firefox, if you print multiple copies of any document (not screenshot or print-webpage) it will shrink it into a quarter sheet. This works against double sided and single sided.

As for the types of documents: this is for every .docx or .pdf form printed off of Firefox (even pre-existing .pdf documents opened in the Firefox pdf viewer), as long as I am printing multiple copies. If I open the same .docx or .pdf in Adobe, the issue does not arise.

Both me and another coworker have the same issue (both use firefox) and other browsers do not have the same shrinking issue while printing. I believe it started around a month ago?

If I'm using the built in VPN no pages will load, regardless of the location I pick. I did not have this issue previously, I've only first saw it the other day. No websites seem to work and as long as I have the VPN turned off everything works fine.
