Opening PDFs automatically with Firefox and, without any changes I might make, saving them with the download function in Firefox, actually ruins the functionality and data entry function of that file. Specifically this happens with PDF files downloaded from the (not all that amusing) PDFs from the FINCEN, (US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network). I do not see why and how Firefox thinks it is allowed to change files that are simply downloaded and saved on Firefox.

In other words, it seems that Firefox strips away certain "permissions" and/or "functions" (like built-in lookup, menu or choice boxes). This means that the file so downloaded via Firefox can no longer be used to properly fill in data, or to look up and choose data items within the file. (I see many times that ANYTHING having to do with "permissions" tends to be an intractable and unsolvable problem for software makers & experts, so, if you do not know right away how to solve the problem, it will probably take you several years to figure this out.)

The PDF in question is created by a government agency. If you have ever dealt with a government agency, then you know that they act sort of like Adobe or Microsoft: "They don't respond, or they do respond & say they do not understand, and if they understand, they are either unwilling or unable to fix the problem."

If there is a switch or option within Firefox, which lets me tell Firefox "Save this file exactly like it is received, nothing added or removed!", that would be nice. I just have not found such an option yet, and it would be nice if it might get provided someday.

I will share my browser data, but I am sort of convinced that a detailed question like mine will not be addressed within that shared data.

After updating to Firefox 153.0.1 on my 2026 MacBook Pro Silicon running Tahoe 26.5.2, my Firefox sidebar refuses to open, either by toggling the menu bookmark sidebar icon or pressing the shortcut keys.

hi; when accessing AOL or Yahoo mailboxes from Firefox. I normally write email/reply & edit before sending. for example highlighting or making some letters bigger./bold/diff colour for emphasis. Since ~ 1month ago this has stopped. i msut now copy to word doc/ edit, then copy & paste back into email then send. When using Opera or edge it is ok. why was this done??? no reason i can see Also if i access my yahoo email box from edge that also works perfectly you dont need any screenshots as issue is explained. maybe it is some kind of conflicting setting in firefox?

I want to protect my desk top using Mozilla VPN, but, rarely connect my mobile phone to the net so would rather not have to scan a QR code nor download the app through google play store. Please tell me how to subscribe to and install Mozilla VPN using only a desk top.

During the last 2 weeks, I have been unable to view and use my AOL emails, for the login page demands that I enter my mozilla primary password--the existence of which was unknown to me and thus, I never knew what it was and never had to use it in any way. I assume one was set when I began tom use firefox probably back in 2016. My big problem is that I must be able to use my AOL email system to complete various essential needs, How can I fix this idiocy that apparently places some kind of security above sane simplicity and ease of use for normal people who are not computer or Internet experts?

When I want to to send a link through whatsapp, Firefox defaults to the web page (uninstalled) instead of the desktop application (installed) and I have to open it manually. It started a while ago and is very annoying.

Win11 Pro latest version, 64GB RAM,

from the firefox desktop I cannot go to the selected web site nothing happens. But edge works normally I find that my memorised passwords do not work unless I use EDGE I am forced to enter the address of the web site manually but then I am not recognised as a regular client and have to my password safe but the passwords there do not match the current password for the site. Going back to EDGE removes the problems In desperation I thought I would uninstall EDGE but cannot all I can do is modify it which means refreshing it. What can I do ps I am using windows 10

Linux Mint OS Firefox 152.0.4 Firefox does not recognize embedded iframes in local app page, anymore! I have a local docker app that can be accessed and functions properly,except for one thing The app has pages that have an iframe embedded within each page The iframe USED to display the correct iframe data for the page displayed NOW when an app page is accessed . everything on the page displays as normal and in the correct physical location,, EXCEPT for the iframe !!! The iframe contains a LOCAL url The page "looks" as if there is no iframe to be acessed ANY ideas??? Thanks, Anne

Hi I very often have problems playing videos on X/Twitter but not all of the time. Some videos just won't play but others do no problem. It's very frequent though and i have searched for a solution to this and can't find one.

I've been using "tab groups" for a while but then suddenly my tabs' groups that I just had saved just disappeared, when I had a lot of them of my pending activities. I don't know why it happens, please help me to figure that out cause I had a lot of information that I didn't save on bookmarks. Like I just showed in the uploaded image, I just could restore 1 group tabs because my firefox and laptop turned off and I had that group open before it turned off, so firefox notified me that there was an error and I cannot have all my information again, but at least let me restore my last session, that why I could recover One TAB GROUP

i really need this colour switch pls. my firefox kept crashing with no explanation (maybe some extension i had, then deleted when the crashes began) so i had to reset the whole thing. now the appearance has changed. i had put back my background picture, witch was fine with me, but the text was black instead of white like it used to. and it makes me use firefox less. i think its something to do with the website contrast but I'm not sure.

I've used Firefox for years, but lately, on start-up each day, all my previous tabs have disappeared and I have to start again opening them all individually before I can start work? I thought I'd solved this in the past when I had the problem, but it's back! Help please.

After closing the records in the window, how many windows can be kept now?

I had 6 windows open before closing my browser, but only 5 were automatically restored after reopening it; there are no other windows in the closing history either. What happened? There are no other windows in the closed history section either. What's going on!?!?

I have an insta 360 webcam with Virtual Camera enabled. Is there a setting for Firefox where I can select from a list of available webcams (cameras)? I am suspecting it is trying to use either the integrated laptop camera or the Insta360 without using the Virtual software.

Firefox 153.0 , Windows 10 pro ESU. Waze no longer dislpays traffic information on their map web page. Tried alot of things to fix this issue including safe mode, disable enhanced tracking, disable hardware acceleration, webgl settings. Sometimes but not always I can get it to work if I clear waze cookies and browser cache, but not always.

The "Post" button is off screen on the share popup when I try to share a post in a Facebook group to another group. The problem has been getting worse. Usually I can see a slim piece of the top of the button, but today it disappeared completely. The only way to make it visible is to press Ctrl -. Then select Zoom > Actual size from the menu when I'm finished.
