Opening PDFs automatically with Firefox and, without any changes I might make, saving them with the download function in Firefox, actually ruins the functionality and data entry function of that file. Specifically this happens with PDF files downloaded from the (not all that amusing) PDFs from the FINCEN, (US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network). I do not see why and how Firefox thinks it is allowed to change files that are simply downloaded and saved on Firefox.

In other words, it seems that Firefox strips away certain "permissions" and/or "functions" (like built-in lookup, menu or choice boxes). This means that the file so downloaded via Firefox can no longer be used to properly fill in data, or to look up and choose data items within the file. (I see many times that ANYTHING having to do with "permissions" tends to be an intractable and unsolvable problem for software makers & experts, so, if you do not know right away how to solve the problem, it will probably take you several years to figure this out.)

The PDF in question is created by a government agency. If you have ever dealt with a government agency, then you know that they act sort of like Adobe or Microsoft: "They don't respond, or they do respond & say they do not understand, and if they understand, they are either unwilling or unable to fix the problem."

If there is a switch or option within Firefox, which lets me tell Firefox "Save this file exactly like it is received, nothing added or removed!", that would be nice. I just have not found such an option yet, and it would be nice if it might get provided someday.

I will share my browser data, but I am sort of convinced that a detailed question like mine will not be addressed within that shared data.

I have my ... what do you call it? ... GTK? set up to widen the scroll bar when I hover over it. Problem is that it widens *before* the mouse cursor has moved onto the narrow bar -- it widens as soon as the cursor moves onto the territory that *will be* on the wider bar and thus, if there's a click button at the very edge of the page, it gets hidden by the expanded bar. Would it not make more sense to only expand the bar if the cursor actually moves onto it?

Скачала Мозиллу и решила войти в аккаунт который зарегистрирован на почту anna_alyakr@mail.ru Однако мне всплыло окно регистрации где нужно вводить два раза пароль. Хотя аккаунт уже БЫЛ зарегистрирован, то ест произошел баг сайта/страницы/окна. Пока я это делала мне пришло письмо с кодом. Страница обновилась и вернулась на нормальное окно со входом. Я решила войти однако написано было что заблокирована страница из-за того что письмо с кодом вернулось. Конечно оно вернулось потому что я уже вошла на свою страничку!

дорогая администрация, что мне делать как мне вернуть свой аккаунт я могу предоставить всевозможные данные которые попросите, я просто хочу поскорее закончить устанавливать все приложения на ноутбук после переустановки винды потому что это тот еще геморройный процесс :((

Hi, i'm running a ryzen 5 desktop on Linux Mint 22.3 x86_64 with no ssd so it's a little slow to load firefox 152.0.1 (64-bit) after boot. I find that occasionally the tab i am loading timesout, and if i refresh i lose the page. I have a keyboard macro to work around the issue. I lost the code for it, but iirc it works by entering this combo alt-d, ctrl-c, ctrl-v, enter that is to say if I copy the url to the buffer and re-enter it, the page will load, but will not load from the current page.

Is it possible to add a 'note' to a saved username and password combination to a particular website? This is important in cases where (idiotic) websites require the user to have multiple usernames and passwords for different login routes/roles.

I was switching computers and created a backup file. The type was html oddly. I tried to restore this backup on two different computers and both times it fails during the restore process without presenting a useful error message.

I can only guess that the file is corrupt, but it is only a guess since the error message is useless. It also seems strange that the backup didn't produce any errors (manual backup). Any suggestions?

For the last 2-3 weeks, the browser has been freezing when opening new tabs. This doesn't happen all the time, but the same tabs can open correctly or the browser stops working when they are opened. The work stops for 10-20 seconds. The browser does not respond to clicks, but if you press the Win key, the window turns bright and "not responding" appears on top of the frame. I was trying to solve this problem on my own. I ran it in safe mode, disabled hardware acceleration, updated drivers for the integrated graphics and discrete graphics card, disabled all extensions, created a new profile, reinstalled the browser completely - none of this helped, the browser still freezes when opening new tabs. I also cleaned the download history, changed the proxy settings, and disabled Windows Defender. What else can I try to do to fix the browser?

I want to protect my desk top using Mozilla VPN, but, rarely connect my mobile phone to the net so would rather not have to scan a QR code nor download the app through google play store. Please tell me how to subscribe to and install Mozilla VPN using only a desk top.

My Firefox browser has just been updated .. not by me but somehow .. to 140.11.Oesr(64-bit) Its completely messed up all my settings .. why? Its taken me the best part of this morning to sort everything out . All my bookmarks were not displayed, the web pages that should have been displayed on startup weren't.. and to cap it all the "Done" button is hidden at the bottom of the page .. and why is it needed  ? all other setting just need to be changed to set them. Its so annoyed me that I've downloaded Chrome. and I'm using Opensuse Leap!

I have Firefox latest version (153.0.1 (64-bit)) running in Windows. Both are newly installed.

Usually, if I type a new URL firefox "remembers it" and when I type it the second time, it shows in the address bar.

But now it does not. Any ideas?

Hello I am using Google Flow on my Linux PC and when going to edit scenes I get an error about a missing Codec. If I use Brave browser works fine so this makes me think this is not an OS issue but browser.

I am using a local library and it comes to me that I find some activities that occur whilst working on my daily tasks and wonder, I would really like to run a diagnosis in my tasks and activities and check if there are no spams running me dry.

When I want to to send a link through whatsapp, Firefox defaults to the web page (uninstalled) instead of the desktop application (installed) and I have to open it manually. It started a while ago and is very annoying.

Linux Mint OS Firefox 152.0.4 Firefox does not recognize embedded iframes in local app page, anymore! I have a local docker app that can be accessed and functions properly,except for one thing The app has pages that have an iframe embedded within each page The iframe USED to display the correct iframe data for the page displayed NOW when an app page is accessed . everything on the page displays as normal and in the correct physical location,, EXCEPT for the iframe !!! The iframe contains a LOCAL url The page "looks" as if there is no iframe to be acessed ANY ideas??? Thanks, Anne
