Hi!

I am getting messages that I am blocking ads for many of my internet requests. I had never received these before but all of a sudden I started to get them. I have tried a number of things but nothing works.

I am running Windows 11 and do not have any Ad blockers.

Opening PDFs automatically with Firefox and, without any changes I might make, saving them with the download function in Firefox, actually ruins the functionality and data entry function of that file. Specifically this happens with PDF files downloaded from the (not all that amusing) PDFs from the FINCEN, (US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network). I do not see why and how Firefox thinks it is allowed to change files that are simply downloaded and saved on Firefox.

In other words, it seems that Firefox strips away certain "permissions" and/or "functions" (like built-in lookup, menu or choice boxes). This means that the file so downloaded via Firefox can no longer be used to properly fill in data, or to look up and choose data items within the file. (I see many times that ANYTHING having to do with "permissions" tends to be an intractable and unsolvable problem for software makers & experts, so, if you do not know right away how to solve the problem, it will probably take you several years to figure this out.)

The PDF in question is created by a government agency. If you have ever dealt with a government agency, then you know that they act sort of like Adobe or Microsoft: "They don't respond, or they do respond & say they do not understand, and if they understand, they are either unwilling or unable to fix the problem."

If there is a switch or option within Firefox, which lets me tell Firefox "Save this file exactly like it is received, nothing added or removed!", that would be nice. I just have not found such an option yet, and it would be nice if it might get provided someday.

I will share my browser data, but I am sort of convinced that a detailed question like mine will not be addressed within that shared data.

I have tried accessing various Websites, including Google.com; DuckDuckGo.Com; whatismyipaddress.com, and this Mozilla support page. For each, I recieved the message: "Unable to find the proxy server". Turning the Firefox VPN off immediately enablabed the Websites to be loaded.

As you will appreciate, putting Websites on the exclude list should be done with care, and by exception. If the VPN doesn't work on well-known Websites, it's not exactly ... useful. 😥

After a recent change the browser scroll always goes to the bottom of the page. Before it was always at the top of the page. I found no way in Firefox to reset this function.

All of a sudden I am finding that Firefox will not connect me to certain websites such as Walmart, Doordash and even Firefox itself. It looks like it's trying to but it just gets stuck. What's causing this and how do I fix it?

When trying to search in Yahoo, using Firefox, About:Blank comes up instead in a new tab. I have to hit the X to close the new tab, and then hit enter again and I will then get my search results. I have 2 PCs and a laptop and they ALL are having this problem since the last Firefox update. I have tried ALL of the recommended fixes, I have refreshed firefox, cleared cache and cookies, turned off firewall, antivirus, extensions, etc. I have even tried some of the config recommended changes and NOTHING works. It is definitely a Firefox problem and NOT a yahoo problem because all works fine in Chrome and Edge.

I can no longer access YouTube videos (video unavailable) with Windows 10 and Firefox. However, I can access them with Google Chrome. How can I resolve this issue?

Hello, Firefox has been giving me some troubles lately and I can't figure out how to resolve the problem. Since I haven't found any way to consistently reproduce crashes, it is very hard for me to tell if Troubleshoot Mode also experiences the crashes, and the time I can spend doing that is very limited. As previously stated, it is very inconsistent, but relatively frequent, sometimes it crashes very soon and several times in a day, others it doesn’t at all. Sometimes it crashes with several tabs open, sometimes with only one; sometimes it crashes while using a webapp, others it does so on the newspaper page. It might be more frequent while there are Electron Webapps open, but it's more a hunch than anything, since sometimes it happens without those. I'm using Firefox as my default browser, and I saw a link preview for YouTube (on tumblr, if it matters) that displayed the message 'Your browser is deprecated. Please upgrade' instead of the actual video title. What does this mean?
