I can't get logged into a particular website. The browser will login to any other site I try. when I hit the login button on this particular site, all that happens is the browser refreshes. I have tried clearing the cache and cookies multiple times. I have checked to make sure an extension or plug in may have something to do with it and that does not seem to be the case. Not sure what to try next or how to get this corrected.

Hi

I just did a fresh windows install and when I signed in to my firefox profile it sync the current status, the empty one, instead of downloading tabs and bookmarks from the previous session. I did make a copy of the profiles folder located in appdata before reinstalling but I haven't been able to use it so far. Are all my data lost?

I posted this problem back when v.80.0 was out. It was later fixed, but now it's back.

Loading an external bookmark as the default start page in v.83.0 and using it as the default bookmark (file:///C:/Mine/Testing/BOOKMARK.HTM) creates an error.

The error is that clicking on any url in the bookmark to visit and then clicking the top left arrow to return will always bring you to the top of the bookmark. It used to bring you back to the same location on the bookmark. Now, it brings you back to the top of the bookmark. Thus making it necessary to scroll back down to the location (url) you just visited. Really annoying to have to keep do this in order to return to your original location in the bookmark.

Hope someone can help again.

Hi guys.

My asumption is that if an image has no color profile, Firefox will trate it as if an sRGB color profile is embeded. But I was reading some tests published by EIZO monitor's website, that say that Firefox will use the monitor's declared profile, for example Adobe RGB, but that sounds a bit wierd to me.

How does Firefox treat the color when an image lacks any color profile?

Here is the article.

I refreshed my Firefox and all of my stored passwords are gone. I went into my Old Firefox folder and copied all of the files that have the stored log-ins and copied those files. I then went to About:profiles and pasted those copied files into my Local Directory folder. After that I closed Firefox, re-opened Firefox, and still no stored passwords. What can I do to get those back?

I got an error on one of my open or pinned tabs (do not recall which it was). I do not recall what the error was and did not screenshot it because I was sure that closing Firefox and restarting it would fix the issue. I did just that, closed Firefox and reopened it to find that ALL of my pinned and open tabs were GONE. This also happens if another instance of Firefox is opened and I close my main one first by accident and then close the other Firefox instance - ALL TABS LOST.

This is what I have done: • I started to restore the pinned tabs as I could remember what they were but I was not able to remember the open tabs that were not pinned • I searched for lost tabs on the web and on the Mozilla support site but was not able to find any useful help - most of it seems outdated or no long compatible with my version of Firefox. • I looked for the sessionrestore files on my local PC but could not find them - this must have changed in some version of Firefox between version 42 and version 82 that I have. • I looked in the AddOn store to find something that would help restore and prevent this issue - but found nothing. A very old post, from 2012, indicated one that did this but it is no longer available. • All of the Options in Firefox to restore previous session, reopen previous tabs and all that were blank.

This is VERY frustrating in that it results in lots of down time to recreate what was open and is equivalent to working on a document for days or weeks only to find out that the Microsoft file got corrupt or did not save properly.

I am using Firefox version 82.0.2 (64-bit).

Two questions: 1/ Is there any way I can get the pinned and open tabs back from the previous session? 2/ What can I do to avoid this issue EVER happening again.

Thanks!!!!

Having only recently been on here to try to sort out all my Thunderbird E-mail settings, I am now getting the error message 80004005 each time I attempt to send an E-mail from my tiscali.co.uk account. I am using all the recommended settings ( i.e. all the settings recommended by Talk Talk ) except that it seems not possible to combine the connection security setting SSL/TLS with outgoing port number 587 ( which is recommended ! ) Instead, when I enter outgoing port number 587 the connection security setting always defaults to STARTTLS. Could this be the cause of the latest problem ? I never used to get the error message 80004005 before ! And sometimes, when I DON'T get that error message, I get something else instead which says " Your Connection to the Server has Timed-Out." This is clearly rubbish and not correct. For weeks I have had on-going problems of one sort or another with Thunderbird. I have a POP3 account and I am not sufficiently au-fait with computers to think of changing it to IMAP. Any suggestions gratefully received ! SG.
