I have been using Firefox for a little bit on my computer, as I've just formatted my computer to start fresh. But for some reason, SoundCloud audio refuses to play on my browser. Audio for every other website on my browser works completely fine, but for some reason the audio for SoundCloud doesn't work. When I play audio on SoundCloud, my browser says "PLAYING" underneath the SoundCloud tab, but nothing comes through. My tab is not muted, and the audio settings on SoundCloud (the volume slider) is set to max volume. Although I suspected it at first, this doesn't have anything to do with my actual audio device, as it's working just fine and literally all other websites play audio perfectly fine.

Things I have tried:

  • Refreshing Firefox
  • Disabling all add-ons
  • Removing all add-ons
  • Clearing all data

Can't seem to catch it "on camera", so I'll have to do my best to describe it.

When hovering over a canvas element on a certain site, the cursor is meant to change from your system default to a custom one. When doing so, the cursor briefly (blink-and-you'll-miss-it) shows a larger, glitchier version of the custom cursor, and then fixes itself and changes to the custom cursor as expected.

I reported it to the admins of the site, who tell me it might be something to do with my GPU. I've tried disabling hardware acceleration, I've tried clearing my startup cache, I've refreshed Firefox, I've ran in safe/troubleshooting mode (in case it was any of my add ons - it was not!), i've updated my BIOS and graphics card (Firefox is up-to-date). I've restarted Firefox itself multiple times. It does not happen in my other installed browser (Brave). I also cleared my cache for that site to no avail.

The only way it seemed to fix was when I ran OBS (recording/streaming program) and tried to record it. I don't know what it did, but it came back when I stopped recording.

Hi,

Our company recently moved away from Chrome so i picked FF as an alternative. However there is a weird bug when I'm connecting to and off VPN (we are using pulse secure client).

Our current setup: The proxy is hosted pac file on company server which is defined in the W10 system settings. When I connect to pulse secure, the pac file can be accessed and I can use internal/external network.

When I connect to the VPN FF decents the change and works fine. However when I disconnect and try to continue browsing, it takes up to 3 minutes for FF to load the pages again.

I'd like to ask if there is an option to modify the time for FF to check for the pac file? the MS Edge does not take more then 5 seconds to detect the change.

Thanks Regards Jan

Hello, my hero! I need your help. Look at the screenshot and you will understand faster. Is it possible to return the icons to Firefox dropdown menus after Firefox removed this functionality in June updates? For example, if you open "Application menu" you cannot work fast because you have to read all those menus. It makes my work too slow! I have got used to visual pictograms, but now they are gone, not-thanks to you Firefox devs!!! New tab, New window, New private window, Bookmars, History, Downloads, Passwords, all of these are just words, just text! It used to be so convenient just to quickly click the icon, and now i have to read all the wordsto hopefully find the required function. Can you make icons for those menus, please? Or at least, is there any extension for this? p.s. Come on Firefox, you have only made the design worse because it slows down people's ability to find the required things. How can this text be better than icons??? Do I have to count them or should I have a reaction of an insect? p.s.s. Firefox 90.0.2.

Whenever I try to print anything in Firefox, I get a box that pops up with a spinner and the message "Preparing Preview". This goes on forever, and never goes away. I've tried the suggestion found here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-printing-problems-firefox, and that did not help.

I can print if I go in to about:config and set "print.tab_modal.enabled" to "false". But, this doesn't allow me to preview what I am printing first.

I'm on version 90.0.2 (64-bit) of Firefox.

Any help is appreciated.

Hello.

Up until recently, I could click a link to a locally stored Python source file (.py extension) and it would display as a plain text file in Firefox. This is what I want; e.g., it is a way that I view my notes, refer to examples, and so on.

Starting a few days ago, when I click such a link, I now get a pop-up window with the two options "Open with" or "Save file." I have tried a number of things to get back to the old behavior, including deleting the handlers.json file in my Profile folder, running a full Refresh, and creating a new profile. None of these got me back to the old behavior: displaying the .py file as plain text.

If I set the "Open with" option in that pop-up window to Firefox, I just keep getting the pop-up over and over again, while a new tab is created each time.

Note: if I look at a .py file on GitHub, there is no problem: again, the file just displays.

I suspected this behavior is connected with my having installed the latest version of Python (3.9.6) a few days ago, and I just confirmed this by updating Python on another machine. That is, on the other machine, the .py file would display as plain text until just now, after I update Python there.

So, I believe the Python installation is the cause of the problem, but, nonetheless, it seems to me that I should be able to set (or unset?) something within Firefox to make .py files open as plain text, as they used to.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

If I'm viewing a pdf in firefox, and I search for a word using ctrl+F, the viewer should jump to the location of the word. But recently for me the viewer is showing the wrong spot in the document. This happens for all pdfs.

For example, if a pdf has the word "fox" on page 4, when I use ctrl+F to search for "fox", firefox will jump to page 3 of the document, not page 4. I have to scroll around searching for the word.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

I just wanted to comment the existing Ticket https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1291420

Which for any reason has been archived. I have the same problem and it is in the way every day:

Quote from the ticket refered: >I use multiple virtual desktops (let's call them A, B, C, and D) on Windows 10, and have a separate Firefox >window running in each.

>When I use the browser on, say, desktop D, then switch to desktop A and click a link from another application, >Firefox moves me back to desktop D and opens the link in a tab back there. If I had opened a blank tab in the >browser on desktop A first, the link would have opened in that window.

>How can I get Firefox to open links in the browser window that is on the current desktop, instead of in the most >recently used window? Chrome works this way, so I don't think it's a fundamental limit of Windows virtual >desktops.

My problem is that Firefox keeps changing my System PDF viewer configuration when it interacts with a PDF file, even while saving to the hard drive.

I am running Windows 10, FF 90.0.2 (64 bits). I have Sumatra PDF viewer, Foxit Reader and Drawboard PDF viewer installed in my system. Sumatra is the default PDF viewer.

The order of installation was Sumatra -> Foxit -> Drawboard. Up to Foxit I didn't have any issues.

The problem is as follows: 1) If I download a PDF by pressing "Save" in the dialog box, the file is saved to the hard drive, and when I open it, the system PDF viewer has changed from Sumatra to Drawboard.

2) If in settings I chose "Use Windows Default Application", and I select Sumatra, when I click on a PDF, the "Open With" option shows "Applications\Sumatra.exe". However, when I click "OK", the pdf is opened with DrawBoard, and the system PDF viewer has changed again from Sumatra to Drawboard.

3) If in Settings I chose "Open with Firefox", then the file is opened inside FF and again, the system PDF viewer is changed to Drawboard.

Things I tried: + I have refreshed FF, and nothing changed. + I tried to uninstall Sumatra and reinstall it again and nothing changed.

I had the same problem before with Adobe reader. That is, I had installed Sumatra -> Foxit -> Adobe and the same thing happened. I ended up uninstalling Adobe. The I installed Drawboard and I am having the same issue know.

Thanks!

Hi, I would like to know how to use the keyboard to select, move, group, bookmark, load, and close multiple tabs with the keyboard all without loading the unloaded tabs. I've recently started using Tree Style Tabs add-on and I wish I could use the keyboard when doing these tasks. I've read somewhere about a firefox-native function that should allow this to happen by enabling in userChrome.css profile: .tabbrowser-tab {

  -moz-user-focus: normal !important;

} but it doesn't work... anyone able to work with tabs efficiently using keyboard only?

Thanks.

I have my mailto set up for outlook. ONCE AGAIN, when I am logged into firefox, and I am on a tab I need to share for work, I select SHARE, and the message shows the option for OUTLOOK. I click OUTLOOK button and next message says "CHOOSE WHICH ACCOUNT TO SEND THE EMAIL FROM" (which is ridiculous) but provides NOTHING TO SELECT FROM. Constant searching on the internet and community to solve firefox problems leads to old solutions where instructions do not even apply anymore. I really do not want to have to move back to Google Workspace just so I can send a tab. Yes I can send a link, copy paste create new email, copy over narrative into subject line -- but why did this stop working? Before the update everything was fine. I am frustrated.
