I'm looking for a screen recorder. The addon search list has several.

Awesome screenshot has a lot of users, but some aren't thrilled that you have to create an account.

it doesn't have to be particularly fancy. For instance, I have a couple Firefox and Windows issues I'd like t document.

I use Firefox version 103, the old version that is perfectly compatible with an extension I always use. I love this old version, and I don't want to update it to the new version. But the update reminder pops up many times everyday. it's so annoying. I used "about config" to turn it off (see photo 2); it works a bit, but the popup still there once daily after the configuration. I want to turn it off permanently. Is there any way to do it? I recently purchased a new Mac Book Pro. After migrating my data from my old one I noticed that when using Firefox my Facebook account was not working properly. I no longer could access my own page or the pages of friends. However, I could access some group accounts I'm associated with. On Safari, everything works fine. I suspect something must have been compromised during the data migration.

I deleted the Firefox app from my new computer and then reinstalled it but to no avail. When I'm in Facebook and try to access my page I get an error message. My OS system to up to date and apparently my Firefox is up to date as well. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I'm currently consuming APIs hosted on an external server using Java( or any other server side language), and everything works smoothly. However, when attempting to consume the same APIs in JavaScript, I encounter the 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' error.

After some research, I discovered that browsers implement security checks leading to this issue. Can anyone advise on how to disable these security checks or resolve this issue when accessing the website in the Firefox browser? Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

My sync is only sometimes working. I notice that when saving a bookmark and trying to find it on another device. I sometimes have to manually resync it or wait for a few days to get it shown on my other devices. Same with the tab sharing across devices.. In most cases it doesn't work at all..

Is there a way to set the default view and sorting for file upload folder?

The default for me is, detailed view and sorted by date.

I wanted to change it to large icon and sort by name, so it's easier to upload images. but I have to change the setting for every individual folder, is there a way to just set it as default?

Hi jscher2000, I want to thank you for your advice concerning a problem I had downloading Firefox to my Windows 10 laptop. I tried to follow your advice but was not successful. In the end, I googled "what if Firefox doesn't install". It took me to a website, https://www.makeuseof.com/fix-firefox-not-installing-windows , which took me to an article entitled "8 Fixes to Try if Firefox Won't Install on Windows". I tried #1 and #2 without success. #3, Temporarily Disable Your Antivirus Software, worked. Firefox is up and running. Feel free to share this with anyone who has a similar problem. I monitor the temperature of my PC's CPU with a program called Core Temp. The CPU gets up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit when watching videos. Stayed between 100-115 degrees Fahrenheit when I was using Chrome. The temperature is around 98 as I write this, no video playing. Why is this?

Due to a recent update, Firefox has changed its search results in the URL search bar.

I used to be able to turn off ALL search suggestions other than bookmarks. However, now it shows expanded results based on my bookmarks that are actually NOT bookmarked pages.

NOTE: This appears as separate behavior from Firefox Suggest. However it is linked to the settings for Firefox Suggest. The heading "Firefox Suggest" in the URL bar provides the correct link.

For example, I have a single page bookmarked from wrapbook, but instead of suggesting that bookmark it suggests the root domain/homepage.

I have no interest or purpose in visiting that homepage, but hitting enter it will autofill to that page. This is super annoying as it's not in my history or bookmarks.

Turning off bookmarks completely in Firefox Suggest settings fixes this behavior, BUT it means I have no access to my bookmarks from the URL search bar. This makes it a 3 step process to open bookmarks then, and is a poor UX design.

I have copied my settings and example screens below for reference.

I'm using the current version 118.0.2 (64-bit). Windows 10 Pro x64

Previously I turned off all search suggestions and it worked correctly. Just FYI, I also whitelist all websites and use restricted/strict cookie settings. The only cookies that are retained between sessions are those that I manually add to the "exceptions" section of settings. All other history and cookies are cleared.

If I go to drivenc.gov to look at the traffic cameras, I get the following error;

"Error with TIMS API"

I can get to the site using the edge browser so either the Firefox browser is having issues or the website has some problem with Firefox.

I went to settings->Privacy & Security->Cookies & Site data and hit the "Clear Data" button to clear cache. Still having issues.

I'm only looking to use the VPN add-on for a particular movie streaming website where even the website itself advises that you use a VPN connection for security and safety.

I would have the VPN add-on disabled for everything else so I don't need a VPN add-on with lots of bells and whistles, I just want a free VPN add-on that will keep me relatively protected when I use the particular streaming movie website.

Can anybody provide any recommendations or opinions?

I'd rather not sign up to a free trial for a VPN service because obviously the free trial has a cut off date before you actually have to purchase the VPN service and as specified I'm not interested in buying a VPN service.

Can't stream Amazon after update. What's the issue? Watching videos, LiveTV on MEdge works fine. Refreshed FF and didn't work. Followed instructions on managing DRM controlled content and still not working. FF is broken. Please fix or please help. Thank you.

C'est quand j'ai voulu lui dire que j'habitais aux États-Unis pour changer la langue et le type de résultats (correspondant à ce dont j'ai besoin, mes études et recherches) que je me suis retrouvé coincé ; il ne m'affichait que mon adresse, toujours des résultats en français et aucun résultat pertinent malgré ma langue anglaise. Que faire ?

Currently www.trackitonline.ru currently acceptable in Russian (after I restarted PC & started CCleaner), but does not work in English

It seems that this problem is common in firefox community. So first of all I basically tried all default troubleshooting steps such as dealing with cookies (turning off, tuning on, exceptions), cleaning data, cleaning cache, security settings, etc etc, even though I am on freshly installed firefox.

So lets see now, problem is with https://vk.com/ website. It works until processing my login info. After I enter necessary credentials, it reloads and just produces infamous error. Network monitor displays loop of login.vk.com domain migrating cookies to login.vk.ru which restores them and then finally trying to open actual account php page starts the loop anew. Well until NS_ERROR_REDIRECT_LOOP stops this shamelessness. Resetting all browser data back, just enables me to enter my credentials again and the same process starts again. I can access this website from the same network from different browsers from different devices and operating systems.

Currently I encounter this problem on recently installed Arch linux, with basically dwm and firefox, and since I had very rough time with how unpredictable this system were so far, I don't know how much it is browser issue, so I think I should mention it.

Fri. 10/20/23 @10:48 pm CDT -- Good evening. As an experienced I.T. Consultant, I cannot find a spot in the Account Profile section or its related pages to UPDATE my phone number. If your system is doing 2FA, it had to be entered at some point. Since I had that old number for almost 10 years, I don't remember what features Firefox had back then. I'd appreciate it if someone would provide an answer. Previous answers I've read today didn't provide one.
