Hey there, I did some random fiddling around with my Lenovo Ideapad 320/Windows 10 and now I have the following msg when I use Firefox browser..... "XUL runner: The profile was last used with a newer version of this application. Please create a new profile". I am able to use my browser ordinarily but this msg comes up when I open the browser. I am at not at all knowledgeable about this kind of thing, so should I just ignore and carry on browsing or what would you suggest I do? If the problem needs to be resolved by me, I would definitely a point by point explanation to rectify this. Look forward to hearing from you and hope you're having a good day so far

Hello I use webrtc to organise online calls and, for some time now, I've noticed that I'm getting echoes on Firefox whereas in the same situation (same output/input) I'm not getting any on Chrome...

I've tried looking at the getUserMedia level by changing the following parameters: **echoCancellation**, **autoGainControl**, **noiseSuppression** but that doesn't change anything.

I have the impression that this is due to the latest browser update...

No problem with chrome.

Any ideas ?

Watching videos on Twitter/X doesn't seem to work too well on Firefox. I don't have an account, but I sometimes have to watch a clip on the site. The problem is that you cannot skip the video i.e. you cannot move the dot that shows where you are on the video; you have to watch it from the start, till the end. You cannot also change the volume, apart from clicking on the "mute", so technically here you have the options of full sound and no sound. Twitter has always worked perfectly on the Microsoft Edge that came with the Windows on this desktop PC (bought in fall 2020).

Firefox desktop, when I tab it jumps to a different line in the document and it's very frustrating. Nothing touchpad related, and doesn't occur on Chrome. What can i do?

In the last couple of days, I have been having troubles editing Google Docs documents. Certain actions cause the cursor to jump around in the document.

For example, if I am sitting in a bulleted list, if I invoke the "increase indent" function through a menu or through the keyboard shortcut (tab key), the increase indent function executes correctly, but then the cursor moves to a new position a few lines earlier in the document.

Other operations cause similar movement of the cursor.

I am not alone in seeing this. I contributed to that thread, and on the advice of Google technical support tried various things. I disabled all my add-ons and refreshed firefox. The problem still occurred. But if I tried Google Chrome, I did not see the problem.

The problem persists across different documents.

I observed the problem in two separate environments: on both my laptop and my desktop computers. In both cases I'm running the latest release version of firefox (117.0.1). My desktop runs windows 11 while my laptop runs windows 10 -- both are up-to-date.

However, my wife can edit the same documents without seeing the problem. So, it's something specific to my environment. We use the same add-ons. The only difference I can think of is that I use a firefox account for syncing bookmarks across devices while she does not.

Whenever I use google docs, and try to select text, move between headings, format text, or type, my cursor will jump up significantly, either a few lines, or several headings depending on the action being performed. tested in other browsers, only occurs in firefox, and even booting it up in troubleshooting mode does not resolve the issue.

this is the only site where this occurs, so I thought it was an extension, but troubleshooting mode seems to indicate that it's not. Attempting to clear caches and reload the site doesn't work either. Currently using a wireless keyboard and mouse, not on a laptop with a touchpad, so it doesn't seem to be an input issue Like touching a pad indiscriminately. Advice?

I am running Firefox on Mac OS 13.5.2. Every few videos I watch on Youtube skips a few seconds forward (audio and video). I only started experiencing this problem once updated firefox to 117.0.1 (64-bit).

I was trying to create an account for the first time to use Firefox sync on a different computer and I guess I must have either somehow entered my age wrong or be having some weird error. Now when I go to click sign it it still says I cannot create an account due to age requirements. I have made this account on my other computer, but I am hoping to still be able to sync my browser from the computer that is having this problem.

I can't seem to find a way to drag and drop gmail attachment from gmail to my computer. WWhat it does, instead of moving a file, it creates some preview url file.

Is there any way to be able to download the file by dragging it from gmail to my computer?

Hi there, i got different firefox issues displaying websites. my configuration: firefox 117.0 (64bit) cleaned 5 minutes ago addons deinstalled (all) kaspersky firewall deactivated fresh start on different sites an ad guard site pops up telling me protection for children when relaoding F5 site it tells certificate is not safe after reloading whit shift+f5 it tells site is not reachable

if i open the same website on chrome on the same laptop everything works fine. there are days when these errors do not occur. on other days it is simply impossible to surf the net. i do not have installed ad blockers or even adguard. but adguard website shows up. we got an avm fritzbox 7590ax to access fibre 500mbit. it seems firefox is not able to interact with something. maybe provider netcologne?

i treid everything to get these website going but nothing worked. and it is only firefox. chrome works. opera too. edge okay.... :-)

any suggestion where to start find out where this adguard websites comes from? any idea why firefox got so many security issues with just normal websites?

hello? I am currently using Firefox Nightly(Snap 119.0a1) on Ubuntu 23.04. As the title suggests, when the main Firefox window on YouTube goes into the background, the subtitles in the PIP are not updated. 1. Go to YouTube in Firefox nightly, play a video, turn on subtitles and PIP. 2. Open a program other than QT and change it to full screen. 2-1. I just tested it, and it can be reproduced by simply minimizing Firefox. 3. Subtitles are not updated until the main Firefox window (not the PIP window) appears on the screen. 3-1. When I opened the QT program in full screen it worked fine (Firefox may not be aware that the QT program has obscured Firefox). 4. When the Firefox main window appears on the screen using any method such as Alt+Tab or Win key, the PIP subtitles are updated again. 4-1. Even if it is a GTK app, transparency is applied and the subtitles are updated when the Firefox main window is visible in the background. ※ I created a new profile for testing and tested it, and the same problem occurred.

The state in which the Firefox window is displayed on the screen: The subtitles in the PIP window are updated. 3. The Firefox window is hidden or minimized: The subtitles in the PIP window are not updated (the subtitles before minimizing the window are not updated to the next subtitles).

When I upgraded to the latest version of Firefox (September 12, 2023 release - 117.0.1 (64-bit)). I could not connect to the Internet with Firefox (Default Browser for Windows 10). I could connect to the Internet with Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. After several hours of troubleshooting, I discovered that I had to: (1) click the Firefox menu button, (2) click Help, (3) select More Troubleshooting Information, (4) click Refresh Firefox ..., and (5) then click Refresh Firefox in the confirmation window that opens. After that Firefox closes to refresh itself. Then I can use Firefox to connect.

Please explain why must I go through this process now, in order to get Internet connection? Additionally, it took me a few hours to discover this process. It was NOT easy to find.

Is there another process that is more straight-forward?

On youtube there's the top bar, including the search bar, youtube home, notifications, your accounts, etc.. If my mouse isn't hovering directly over this area, it becomes darker, such as the whites turning into grays. What setting in about:config should i change to make it stay light and, well, normal, no matter where my cursor is?

I have Mac Pro 2018 and having a problem with Thin Lines on left side of the browser (Firefox Mac) i can't find anyone on line with same problem explaining how they resolved the issue!

After update to 115.2.1, FF crashes at startup for one User, but not the other. FF Safe Mode also crashes (SHIFT key). I tried running the 115.2.1 install on the problem User, but it also crashes right after completion. The second user is handicapped, so I have yet to try to uninstall/reinstall because FF runs on her User and I hate to screw things up so that she is locked out.

• • • JUST NOTED - Chrome also crashes with same NTDLL error (same DLL version number). Did the FF update do something with the NTDLL file?
