I set up a custom search extension and am trying to use 'z' as the keyword.

It doesn't work. If I use anything else, it works fine, I just can't use 'z'.

Since I use 'z' in Chrome, I'd like to keep it consistent.

I don't see any other search engines using that keyword.

Is there something I'm missing here? Why can't I seem to use 'z' as a search engine keyword?

Firefox has started making a piercing high-pitched screech when the "save image" and "file update" panels appear. This is a confirmation or alert sound I suppose. It occurs when saving an image from a right-click menu and when downloading a file. Formerly Firefox used the system default sound for this, and that sound is still working in other programs for similar operations.

How can I fix this? Or alternatively how can I disable the sound during such operations in Firefox (or alternatively system-wide)?

Hi, I've noticed an inconsistency when clicking on Web-based protocol handlers in Firefox on Windows. Specifically, when I click on a mailto protocol, such as "mailto:email@example.com," it directly opens my default email application without any confirmation prompt. However, when I click on any other protocol handler, a confirmation pop-up appears, asking me to confirm which application to use. I have attached an example of what I mean.

Is there a way to configure Firefox to always show a confirmation pop-up for all protocol handlers, including mailto links? I prefer to have the option to choose the application each time rather than automatically using the default one.

Is there any reason why the menu item text in the URL popup menu is so spaced out in FF 115 and 125?

It's the only menu I've found like that.

See attached screenshots. The one on the left is FF 115, and the one on the right is FF 88 (more normal).

Is there a way to fix this?

And also remove that "Add" menu item at the bottom?

Hi! When I bring up my Firefox browser it automatically shuts down and comes up again with two issues: 1. Do you want to restore pages? 2. A red striped URL with the little robot and the error message: browser is under remote control reason devtools

I've read all the postings and I don't understand many of what they are suggesting and those that I do, don't work. Please help p.s. I've already downloaded the newest version.

A recent set of system updates appears to have made most website videos not play in Firefox.

When I inspect the Developer Tools - > Console tab the most detail Firefox gives are an error line similar to: Media resource URL could not be decoded, error: Error Code: NS_ERROR_DOM_MEDIA_METADATA_ERR (0x806e0006)

Internet searches for the error name and error hex do not appear yield any applicable troubleshooting, nor any methods of collecting additional problem data.

How can I obtain more detail on where the error is happening and how Firefox might be interacting with other packages present on my system?

Arch Linux has some older ffmpeg-compat packages, but those don't appear to match any of the web results, in that they're even older versions of ffmpeg.

Trying to download nord vpn and is says "failed" tried to download a receipt for the purchase of above and it says "failed" the browser on Win 10 is set to save files to downloads

Hi there! After a short elektricity blackout my PC was rebooted and I lost functionality of shortcuts on Mozilla default home page, turning on or off this shortcuts leads nowhere and just move search bar.

All downloads I make inside of Firefox are automatically failing, with "Failed" message. This only happens in Firefox, Microsoft Edge downloads are perfectly fine. I've tried starting in troubleshoot mode, disabling anti-virus, clearing cache and downloads, rebooting PC.

Some recent changes in PC include: changing TEMP and TMP system variables to another drive (I've changed them back to C drive, had no effect) and making C drive a dynamic disk. Yesterday downloads were working fine. Thanks in advance.

I was playing on this free site called REPLAYPOKER, and it said I was blocked because of something called CLOUDFLAIR, can you tell me what this is please?

It totally blocked me and shut me out of the game

What should I do?

Is Cloudflair a virus? Should I go into the registry and remove it?

about a month ago youtube was only letting me watch videos in 720 or 360, as of about a week ago i only have 360. i've disabled every single extension i have and i have firefox version 127.0.2.

i'm not having this issue in edge, so i assume it's firefox specific. anyone know what's going on or what i can do?

Hi, I am having some trouble with Mozilla Firefox version 127.02 on a Windows 11 PC. Certain websites do not load, for example, travel.state.org, which is a website to know the requirements to travel to the United States. However the site loads without any trouble on my Android phone, and on other browsers such as 'Microsoft Edge'. Can someone help me with this situation? Hello everyone, I have had a problem for a few weeks on the X platform. Some buttons no longer appear, notably the edit button on an image post or the "see" button for a hidden account (see images attached) Does anyone have a solution? I uninstalled ALL the extensions and restarted the app, but nothing works! Thanks in advance

Firefox : 127.0.1 (64 bits) Mac mini M1 2020, mac osx Sonoma 14.4

I have Firefox set to "view PDF files in Firefox", but this is not happening with sites like Capital One and Consumer's Energy. these sites are just saving directly to my downloads folder even though I 1) Want to view the file first and 2) if it is going to save a flle, it is set up to ask where the file should be saved.

Neither of these things are happening even though I have them set up correctly in Settings.

Websites look extremely ugly because of the white borders surrounding icons. I've tried using CSS code I found on Reddit from posts that - I think - are related to my issue, but they proved fruitless.

What CSS/Setting do I have to disable to get rid of this?
