I have upgraded to 70.0 and now there is a 6 second delay on loading first site. I have firefox starting in private mode and without a home page. this loads at its usual speed. However, when I click on a bookmark the system hangs for 6 seconds before the site is presented. Subsequent sites load rapidly as usual. I have tested with other browsers and sites and the problem is specific to Firefox and not specific to the site being load. Once loaded, if I open an additional Firefox window this loads sites rapidly. I have been using Firefox for many years and the problem has only occurred since I upgraded to 70.0.

Can anyone help please.

Hello

Is there some documentation to explain what the font size options mean?

I apologize but I havent studied fonts, I just use the one I feel most comfortable with.

Generally, for me, the font size is too small. And the Adv. page is confusing.

How does the minimum font size relate to the proportional or monospace sizes?

The proportional has serif, sans-serif. The the next 2 opts are serif and sans-serif. Are they related? Because I can set serif to sans-serif and sans-serif to serif.

Att. my settings

Note: The Automatically Add button led me to a missing page and I have to rewrite this text and re-add "[SOLVED]." I did get signed in.

I installed Linux Mint 19.1, 64-bit, MATE Desktop, which included Firefox, Thunderbird and LibreOffice apps. I do much writing on forums, in email and word processor documents. My system language was set for US English, but the spell checker corrects words that end in "-or" here and that elsewhere end in "-our" if I spell them ending in "-or."

My last check of the issue revealed that only in Firefox did the spell checker prefer British spellings, for TBird and LibreOffice checkers preferred US English.

(Let's see now, I have found three ways to misspell "English" within five minutes: "Englishy," "Engluish," and "eNGLISH!" Agggh!!) :(

I finally got "a round to-it" for the oval and square to-its don't fit, and started this post. Lo and behold, I have no issue under Firefox 70.1 with incorrect locale! The spell checker does accept US spellings and calls me out on the others. I didn't mind the other spellings, because the Internet is a world-wide network, and even adopted some of them like "recognise." Now they get flagged.

This issue is [SOLVED] withoiut me doing anything but update my computer and Firefox to 70.1. Thank you. //Edited to correct some missed spelling errors//

I enjoy playing games on 247games.com. Specifically the backgammon.

For the past year, I have had to NOT update Firefox, as the games won't work with the latest. I've just decided to update again, now have version 72.0.2 and still the backgammon won't work.

Last year when I did this, one of the volunteers worked with me for 3 days trying all sorts of things, with no success, so he finally advised me to undo the update. Now I wish I had left it alone, but an hour ago I updated. Now I have to figure out how to undo the update. Again. So disappointed.

I am on an HP envy laptop, with touch screen. Neither the touch screen nor the cursor will work for backgammon. I was hoping you folks had fixed this problem by now.

Switching to basic page style, I can get to the unstyled content of the page, but why aren't the styles loading?

I allow JavaScript for these pages & disable Adblock Plus, and can't think of any other add-ons that might interfere.

I had to reinstall win 7 on a new HD. Before I removed the old HD I copied my entire firefox profile. I then re-named it to my 'new' firefox profile - in hopes that everything would transfer. My bookmarks are there, but my passwords are not. Although the files key4.db and logins.json are both present in the new profile - they do not contain my old passwords. file size is also the same - very odd. I have access to all data on my old HD - how do I recover/transfer all my old passwords - there are >150 of them - I'm not going to type them all in

thanks so much

Can anyone out there help me, I’ve exported my FireFox Bookmarks onto an external hard drive and then copied them back onto the desktop and from there tried to import them back into FireFox.

All the subfolders have imported back into FireFox no problem, but for some reason it has not done so with any bookmarks which appear under the Other Bookmarks listing, is there something I'm doing wrong? The version of FireFox I’m using is FireFox Quantum 6.9.0.3 (64 bit) with Windows 10.

Hi, On Firefox 71, when addons are enabled/disabled, I experience blurry instead of crisp graphics on Google Maps. Initially when the page loads at say 67% zoom, 10 seconds later, it gets blurry and then I get the warning from google maps to load the maps page at 100% zoom for best view. This wasn't an issue on previous firefoxes, and I haven't changed hardware, maybe it's a config setting? How do I fix this?

I found the directory with all the older versions of FF. but how do I download an executable file? I did a recent new install of FF on a new HD and now my passwords are gone - despite restoring the backup files. the new FF I downloaded uses lockwise; while my older version did not. I am hoping if I download and reinstall a slightly older version of FF - where I can restore my passwords and history and bookmarks and it actually Works - then if I update FF - all my 'stuff' will carry with the newer version.

Unless you have another idea of how to get my old FF back! yes I made a backup of my old profile.

thanks
