Last night I had an operating system update. Before the OS update, I closed all open apps, including Firefox. In the past, the session I closed the previous evening was restored. But this morning, all my pinned tabs and other open tabs are gone, and Restore Previous Session does not appear as an option on the dropdown menu. Recently Closed Tabs is pretty random, not really helpful. Recently Closed Windows only shows one tab that I opened this morning (probably a mistake on my part). Is there any way for me to retrieve the session from yesterday?

My bookmarks have stopped working. When I went to Edit Bookmark I found they are all empty. I can create a new bookmark as usual, but I have over 300 bookmarks that no long function that are very important to my work. Is there any way I can possibly restore them, as my work depends on them?

I am helping a friend who has a problem when opening any browser software on an old laptop so I cannot operate the syncing option. The old laptop uses Windows 10.

I want to transfer (to new laptop running Windows 11) the history, bookmarks and passswords by copying from users/hername/AppData/ but do not know which files need to be copied

When I restarted my computer, I was signed out of Firefox. I didn't remember my password and didn't realize creating a new one would deny me access to my bookmarks.

Can I recover my bookmarks? The restore function only lists today as an option after my new password was set (empty). I have no recovery key.

The power went out in my area last night and When I turned my computer on this morning and opened Firefox, all my bookmarks are gone! It says the bookmark file is empty? I had many bookmarks that I use daily. How do I retrieve all my bookmarks I had in my Firefox account? Can someone help? Thank you.

I restarted Firefox today to find you have removed all my 100+ tabs, which I had arranged in folders, and replaced the vertical settings I had with Tree Style Tabs, which in the past has always run slow. I was greeted with childish graphics inviting me to set up a profile and offering me an introduction to Firefox. I have been using Firefox for years, mostly happily, until you screw up the view I had spent hours setting up. You are turning into a cheap Microsoft but with even less consideration for your users. I deleted a profile not knowing it would delete everything I had. How can I undo it? I didn't want Firefox Profiles, it was forced. I deleted it, and everything just got deleted. Can someone please help revert this? Thanks.

Three days ago a window popped up asking me to update Firefox. I did and afterwards my personal bookmarks listing disappeared. I tried rebooting everything. No luck. I went to your website and followed all of your suggestions, but again nothing worked; mainly because I could not find on my computer the info the last step in your suggestions were asking for. (I did get a message several times telling me I was using an old Firefox profile. I tried to investigate, but each time your instructions told me to look for something as the last or next-to-last step, I ended not being able to find it on my computer. Again, I have tried everything. Please help me.

This morning Firefox stopped loading new tabs, which usually means it is due for an update and restart. On my work computer, updates are managed by my organization, so I cannot prompt it to check for updates directly, but rather can just restart the application and it updates once closed. Today when I closed the window then clicked the shortcut to reopen, it notified me the exe file had been removed and prompted me to open the Windows store and reinstall, which I did. I have no indication as to why it uninstalled. All of my bookmarks and other history appear to have been wiped.

I have been trying on the support site to see if this data is recoverable, but nothing has panned out so far.

I have used Firefox as my primary browser for almost twenty years and frequently encourage friends and family to use it if they don't already. I have never experienced anything like this before. I am hopeful somebody will be able to assist me where reading through support center options hasn't yet, but if this is not resolvable, I'm done- the crash helpfully wiped everything clean, after all.

Hello, I just purchased a new desktop computer. I have passwords and bookmarks that I would like to move over to the new computer. Can this be done or do I have to manually move each item. It would be so much easier to recapture all. Thanks for you help.

Does anyone know how to restore a previous profile? I had a situation like this: I had Firefox 140. I decided to upgrade to 147. Then I upgraded to 145 and all my data disappeared. The system is Linux Ubuntu.
