I just setup this firefox extension to help me manage my 800+ tabs - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/simple-tab-groups/ . This might have even been causing Firefox to crash and my computer to restart, but I'll save that for a separate issue. The extension has some suggested shortcut keys, particularly Ctrl + Backtick and Ctrl + Shift + Backtick to switch between next and previous Tab groups. I tried to go to Manage Extension Shortcuts in settings, and tried to specify the keys Ctr + Backtick, but the input box would not accept the key. In fact it only seems to accept Ctrl + <alpha-numeric> key. or Ctrl + Alt + <alphanum>

Is there anyway to enable this? Most keys like Ctrl + alphabets appears to be already mapped by firefox's default mappings. my Ctrl + numbers are also similarly mapped by another tab extension to switch tabs.

I received an email saying that I had to sign in in order to keep my account. I did not click on the link provided since I thought it might be a scam. Was this a valid email? If so, is signing in now meet the requirement to keep my account?

Hello. I just have a general question. I have read about it a little but I get mixed info. Some say yes, some say no.... So, is it possible to get a virus or malware or any of that spyware stuff on mobile phones like you can on a computer? Particularly Android phones. They have all these anti-virus apps and stuff you can download saying they're designed specifically for Android mobile devices but then I have read articles that say that the Android operating system is not the same as, let's say, a Windows PC operating system so it's not possible to download spyware onto it. I'm just curious and appreciate any info. Thank you!!

No, there's no such option in settings. No, removing updater physically does not stop pop-ups. No, there's nothing in about:config to shut up the updates.

For Firefox team:

No, your updates ruin the browser, more and more, I think I'm about to switch to Pale Moon instead.

My PC died and I could not boot from bootable flash drive.

I had been backing up the system with Acronis to a WD Passport.

I purchased a new computer, and when I did a restore, upon starting Firefox, I did not have my old bookmarks, which are many.

Aren't they stored in a backup? If so, how do I get them back. I'm sure that some of the bookmarks came over from Netscape Navigator.

I'm using Firefox 141.0 on OpenSuse Tumbleweed with KDE and Wayland. I'm using Firefox with two profiles: work and personal - which is (usually) awesome, until suddenly it's not.

Then, one or both profiles seem to become corrupted, and closing firefox, opening it, choosing either profile just hangs forever. My old tabs show up, but clicking on any tab, for any site, just hangs forever, and no page is ever loaded. Sometimes restarting helps, but sometimes not. Sometimes restarting 2 or 3 times and then suddenly it will work. But normally, I have to just delete all my profiles, and re-create them. Fortunately everything is synced with Firefox sync. Then everything will work wonderfully for a bit - although I have to re-login to everything.  :-(

Any ideas? This is a huge pain and productivity killer. I really love firefox, but this sucks.

I installed Firefox on my M4 Mac and it was in English, now it's in some other langue and I can't change it back. I deleted it, and reinstalled, same issue.

I cannot get it installed in English and have it remain in English. Please help.

I lost all my personal data on Firefox as soon as I changed the password and I did not know that you can lose everything that I had registered in the download box and the previous archive. Now I am very, very mentally disturbed and I do not feel safe and I am very sad about what happened to me. I am crying now. What should I do? My psyche is really broken due to the lack of information....

When I signed into my computer this morning, a pop-up asked me if I wanted Firefox to update. I let it do that, and then a pop-up came up letting choose among some photos and art for a desktop background. It even let me upload a photo of mine. I chose one of yours, now I can't change to any other photo I have on my computer. Please help.

I changed email adress 3 month ago and didn't update my Firefox profile. With only that adress registered (no secondary email) I cannot change to a new one or add secondary because a confirmation mail are sent to my old account, that are deleted. Are there any way to change email, add phone number or .... without access to the old email account?

Every time I change my password or I try to change my password I get notifications double notifications actually one with an eight digit number one with the six digit number it's going to the same account but it's also going to another account in another town how do I stop this

When I last tried to buy with Google stored debit card from my bank the transaction was blocked by the presence of a four-month old phone number. I have updated several weeks ago to my current telephone number and address. Yet the new number is not there, instead the old number is not helping me.

I posted my problem last week on the forum and was told to do a Control+Shift+K, which I did. It indicated that Fingerprinting was blocking the sonograms. I am nervous about unblocking this one feature of eBird and wonder if someone could investigate and walk me through fixing it without messing things up overall. Nobody answered my post. I installed the 4 choice AI system and used it once and was impressed. At that very same site I wanted to highlite copy and paste but when I did the highlight was so faint as to be almost invisable . After some attempts and not wanting to lose that feature I deleted the AI via mouse right click. Realizing that was not the problem I have searched several times but cannot get any further thru settings and more tools to try to Reinstall that feature . Also the sparkle button never showed with the fisrt install. It originally appeared of its own accord . Will I get the choice again when I reboot .. ? hope you can help me thanks mike

I am do not get sound using audio recorded with akamai player with Fire Fox browser. I tried the same link using Edge browser and the audio works.

I have tried clearing the cache, but still no sound.

How do I resolve this issue using Fire Fox as my default browser? Is there an audio extension that is needed?
