I would like to know what happened to all of my bookmarks I had when I opened my firefox, nothing is there and I can't seem to find out how to restore them.. what ever you have done to firefox, mozilla I hate to say I don't like it at all.. thanks

My previous post seems to have disappeared, so will try again. I am 85 years old and have been using Thunderbird fo over 15 years with out any problems. Afew days ago I tried to send an e-mail and didn't have any "Send" button. In trying fix, I some how deleted my contacts sidebar. I sill have my addresses book. I have tried everything to retrieve them but no luck. I tried removing Thunderbird and reinstall, but it comes back the same. I would appreciate an guidance in trying to resolve my problem. w11 on laptop. Cleaned PC using CCleaner. Restarted windows. Launched Firefox and only 1 tab with calendar opened. Went to History but no indication of the previous session available. ?

My laptop crashed and I had to format my hard and install new windows.

I have kept my passwords database files, which uses to be key3.db and key4.db along with logins.json and logins-backup.json files from my old use with me separately...

But the new Firefox folder didn't create these files anywhere where I could replace them with my files to get my stored passwords back.

Please help me restore my data from these files onto my new Firefox so I can get my stored passwords back.

I don't know whether this happened after an update - there was one a few days ago, but I only realised this morning, after switching on the computer, that all my bookmarks are missing. The toolbar is there, empty, only reading "For quick access, place your bookmarks here on the bookmarks toolbar"... I wish! I tried to restore the bookmarks - but it seems there is no backup to restore at all. Then I tried to check my profiles, but there is only the one currently in use. Then I tried to move a tab to the bookmarks toolbar - and nothing happened. Then I began to panic: toolbar apart, we're speaking about years of bookmarks, most of them related to my research for my books... All the advice in the support seems to point towards profiles and backups, but, as I said, it's clearly not my case... Please, please, please: help!

the latest browser update removed all my toolbar folders, all my Recent activity , my history etc etc, i am so damn pissed off about this as i had my work and personal websites saved in all my folders, ans all my favorite websites saved in my recent activity, so i want all them back ASAP so how do i do that?

this is urgent that someone fixes this asap , so it would be much appreciated for you to fix the issues as it was your update that done it.

I was trying to Sort by Name, but hit Delete, because the right-click menu presentation shifted. No worries, Ctrl Z should undo on PC. Nope. Now I'm learning the only restore is through JSTOR/backup. I don't want to restore a previous state of operation. I want to un-Delete a folder. Is that a feature somewhere, somehow?

And secondly, can I force confirmation for all future folder deletions?

So I asked a question yesterday with the same problem but since then I've done a lot of my own research & what-not so I'm hoping I'm little more educated on what to do, however I'm just not fully understanding what I'm doing wrong, unfortunately.

So a run down of what happened yesterday. I was told by a microsoft guy to do a factory reset but select the option to keep my files. Which I did. I thought because I have a Firefox account my passwords will be uneffected. I did the reset & came back, downloaded firefox for their website, went to sign in & of course, I forgot my password for that, I hit forgot password & I was told to insert a 32 key code. I was never once given a code, I've had my account for yeeeears. I had to forgo entering the code & yup, everything has been wiped.

Since then in my research, I've heard many people talking about C:/Windows.old/users/kelsi/AppData/roaming/mozilla/firefox/profiles - I have this in my folders. Inside that there's also logins & logins-backup (JSON files) & key4 file. When I open up the logins into my notepad app, I see all my sites that I have passwords for (encrypted) so they are there! I then also have C:/Users/kelsi/AppData/roaming/mozilla/firefox/profiles/profiles (there's two folders labelled profiles). I was speaking to a few users online who said that I've to copy & paste the C:/Windows.old(...)profiles onto the C:/Users (...)/profiles & then start up firefox again. I did all that, opened up firefox again but nothing. However in the c:/users folder upto & into the profiles folder, it's got the key4, logins, logins-backup there. When I open the logins file on notepad, all my encrypted passwords are now also in the c:/users(...) profiles section.

So I'm just wondering what to do now. I feel like I've gone crazy trying to figure this out. I've got a lot of resources to use, spoke to so many people but I seem to have hit a deadend. I'm a complete beginner with all of this, I only use my laptop for Firefox, so I really don't know much about the ins & outs of anything else. I am hoping this makes sense to someone & can point me in the right direction of either where to go next or what I've done wrong (I can't emphasis enough how much of a beginner I am, so please make it easy to understand) Thank you in advance.

I cannot figure out how to add my favorite things to the toolbar. The toolbar doesn't even show up at the top of my page. I just get a string of random bookmark names under the address bar with the Other bookmarks folder at the end. I can't even get rid of "Finish Setup" which is the last one shown. How do I do find where the toolbar is hidden and get it to show? Once I do find it, how can I add my favorite items to the toolbar? I even had ask a question online to find out how to restore my most recent bookmark which was backed up in the documents folder on my computer. Any suggestions would be very helpful. I don't like the way Mozilla Firefox looks now. It isn't as easy to use. I have included what the top of page looks like now. I am sorry I didn't think to keep one of how it used to be.

Today I needed to reboot my browser, and did so they same way i've done countless times before, but when I restarted it only 10 of the 11 windows I had open before closing it were in the "Recently closed windows" section of "History".Please tell me there's some way to recover that window.I had a lot of tabs open in that window that I need back.Why would Firefox just discard it like this?Like I said, i've done this so many times without an issue.

bookmark bar and all my bookmarks are gone I followed Support instructions, clicked on Manage bookmarks and went nowhere. I really need this function to work as I am sight impaired and can't use my phone for much. Please help.

Hello, FF 139.0.4 on MAC Sequoia15.5. Lost ALL references to bookmarks, i.e. Bookmarks Toolbar totally gone. How can/do I restore from .jsonlz4 file in bookmarkbackups. Also, will I be able to salvage my previous profile, presumably containing my older "Tabs on Bottom" work-around? Alternatively, is there a process to restore JUST Firefox from Time Machine? Appreciate any advice.

100% of my bookmarks have disappeared. I tried backing up to older version a month ago and still no bookmarks were found. I had over 2000 bookmarks. any suggestions?? Marty

My wife's Firefox was triggered from an e-mail link and in the process got updated to release 141.0 The result is that the tabs from the previous verion have not loaded. Can I still recover them?

I got a new PC and tried to sign in to my FireFox account to synchronize. But, foolishly, I ended up resetting my password! Don't know why did that, as I was able to locate my password stored elsewhere. I think this action erased all my data in my online profile & I cannot access my account data (bookmarks, user IDs & passwords) online.

Since my data was still in my old PC, I followed the directions for finding my Profile folder. I copied the folder contents to the Profile folder in the new PC. This has not worked.

I realize I wasn't supposed to copy the entire folder contents, which could be the reason why it's not working. Also, the profile folder contained a large amount of data (3 G). So, it's possible that not all files have been transferred correctly.

Please help me!

My PC died and I could not boot from bootable flash drive.

I had been backing up the system with Acronis to a WD Passport.

I purchased a new computer, and when I did a restore, upon starting Firefox, I did not have my old bookmarks, which are many.

Aren't they stored in a backup? If so, how do I get them back. I'm sure that some of the bookmarks came over from Netscape Navigator.

Firefox on my mac has been acting buggy lately. The last time I quit and reopened it, all of my windows and tabs were gone. there is no restore previous session available and the recently closed tabs and windows options are grayed out. How can I restore?
