BE NICE? Are you kidding me? I have asked for help on this issue NUMEROUS times and NO ONE has ever responded to this problem. I'm Past Being Nice!

DO YOU SEE THE INFORMATION ATTACHED? It is WRONG and has been WRONG for months and months, but no one wants to address the issue. Most of you simply IGNORE this information and I'm guessing you don't know how to correct it.

First of all, I DO NOT have Windows 8, I've never had Windows 8 or any derivation of Windows 8 on this PC or any other ELECTRONIC device I have now or in the past, EVER! One day I turned on my PC checked for updates and to my HORROR this is what I found.

The latest information you have assigned to me is THUNDERBIRD, DON'T know what it is or why I have it listed as something I use, I Don't.

WHAT version are we on anyway????????????

Firefox is the WORST browser I have EVER used. Whenever I have a problem you respond with some ridiculous IT jargon and I'm supposed to fix it and there are so many problems I can't even begin to count them. YOU EXPECT EVERYONE to know how to program, understand programming jargon, and simply fix YOUR problems. What you need is a SUPPORT phone number for those of us who are not as SMART as you. Yeah, yeah I know your all volunteers, MAYBE it's time you hired people who know what they are doing and can speak to people in a language that is UNDERSTANDABLE to most of us in the REAL WORLD!!!!!!

Fix this problem. I want it fixed, not by ME by YOU folks at Firefox before I transfer all of my files to my new PC.

OH, I know EXACTLY what your response is going to be; You're going to waste my time with a million questions that have NOTHING to do with anything, then you'll want me to try this or that or the other thing while you CROSS YOUR FINGERS and hope that I can fix it! DO NOT DO THAT, or you will simply IGNORE my question which is what MOST EVERYONE in your organization does. REALLY, they simply pretend I haven't asked this question.

GET with the program and figure out HOW TO SERVE regular everyday people who use your product. I've read too many articles about problems that you continue to have without resolution, and the numbers of people leaving FIREFOX.

I WOULD HAVE to say, YOU HAVE A PROBLEM! I don't care if you use volunteers or not, what I care about is communication that makes sense to me, NOT to you. When I read your articles that are supposed to CLEAR up the issue and then you name those volunteers who wrote the article, am I impressed? Only in the sense of the stupidity of your idea of HELP!

STOP WITH YOUR educated guesses about my BROWSER, this is just another way of AVOIDANCE FOR YOU! If NO ONE in your organization will even address this issue you couldn't possibly know ANYTHING!

Most Sincerely, Rhonda Caywood

Hello,

I have activated Firefox Sync and "delete cookies on close" and I have noticed that the URLs I have set up exceptions for do not sync across my devices, thus having to re-enter them on every device.

Is this by design or can I do something about it?

Thanks for any help

For some reason, with no prompting I'm aware of, the click and drag scrolling feature of the middle mouse button has stopped working, solely in Firefox. It works fine in other programs, such as Steam or Edge. The error persists across multiple mice, and while in troubleshoot mode. Middle click by itself does work, opening and closing tabs with no issues. I'm fully updated, both Windows and Firefox. I haven't tried reinstalling yet, but I wanted to ask if there was any other known fix I didn't manage to find.

The latest Firefox centers the File Menu. This UI change is counter to every other application on my PC and is extremely undesirable. (Also, I note that when you try to customize the Toolbar, it suddenly left-aligns again.)

How do I left-align the File Menu again—so that it functions the same as every other application in Windows?

Hi,

I have for some time (over a year) been using a remote server as a SOCKS5 proxy for Firefox so I can bypass my local ISPs filtering.

The proxy connection is setup using an SSH tunnel like this:

ssh -D 8080 -q -C -N -f root@<remote server> That sets up port 8080 on my local machine to listen for connections which will be forwarded to ssh on the remote server acts as aSOCKS4/SOCKS5 proxy.

    -D [bind_address:]port
Specifies a local “dynamic” application-level port forwarding. This works by allocating a socket
to listen to port on the local side, optionally bound to the specified bind_address. Whenever a
connection is made to this port, the connection is forwarded over the secure channel, and the
application protocol is then used to determine where to connect to from the remote machine.
Currently the SOCKS4 and SOCKS5 protocols are supported, and ssh will act as a SOCKS
            server.

Tried it today and it doesn't work any more. I've attached a picture of my Firefox Proxy settings and a picture of the Firefox version I am currently running. plus a picture of the error I get when I try to access the BBC website using Firefox via the proxy.

I've tried all combinations of "Proxy DNS when using SOCKS v5" and "Enable DNS over HTTPS" with no effect. I've also tried it from "Troubleshooting Mode" and the same thing happens.

I also tried accessing https://www.bbc.co.uk through the same proxy by using the command:

curl --silent --location --socks5 localhost:8080 https://www.bbc.co.uk

and it worked perfectly.

I'd be grateful if you could have a look at it and let me know what is wrong.

Thanks, Alan

Only the Firefox browser is not allowing me to log into my Clickbank account, yet other browsers I have not issues with.

Going to: https://accounts.clickbank.com/login.htm and logging in, using Firefox, I get the following prompt: "Oops, there was an issue submitting your information. Please try again later. If this issue persists please contact our customer support team."

And, have been informed by the staff at Clickbank to try different things... which is how I came to discover that I CAN log into my Clickbank account using ANY browser EXCEPT Firefox.

I've cleared the cache and history from Firefox, I'm using standard for privacy anyway... and I've also cleaned my computer with CCleaner and rebooted the computer. I've check that I'm using the latest and greatest version of Firefox.

Yet, I STILL cannot log into my Clickbank account using Firefox.

ANY suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated, else I will need to STOP using Firefox, as I'm concerned that whatever is doing this, will start shutting me down from logging into all accounts, every where on the net.

Thank you in advance.

On this page, I am not able to click the download button built into the pdf.js viewer and have it download - it clicks and does nothing. If I right click in the frame and click "Show only this frame", then I can download the PDF using that same button. Any ideas?

How are my bookmarks stored when synced between devices? Are my bookmarks encrypted as well as my passwords/credit card info? This is from the Mozilla page regarding encryption:

"Your encryption key remains a secret, only known to you and your authorized devices." and "We store your encrypted data on our servers so we can’t read it."

I just wanted to make sure this also applies to bookmarks before I import all of mine.

Thanks for any help!

I can't for the life of me understand what is going on with my browser. Everytime I try to watch a video that I have purchased I get this error message:

"Firefox is installing components needed to play the audio or video on this page. Please try again later."

I have tried searching for a solution but no avail. I have disabled and re-enabled DRM, bit it was a no go. I tried re-downloading firefox, still had the same issue. I created a new profile, still won't work! I have been searching for solutions constantly and tried so many but none seem to work. Finally someone suggested that I check my extensions and App data and I saw a sign that said:

"widevine decryption module provided by google inc. will be installed shortly"

but it has been almost a day and it still hasn't been installed. In advanced preferences I looked up widevine and saw this:

media.gmp-widevinecdm.autoupdate true media.gmp-widevinecdm.enabled true media.gmp-widevinecdm.lastDownloadFailReason Error: Failed downloading via ServiceRequest, status: 0, reason: error media.gmp-widevinecdm.lastDownloadFailed 1671609470 media.gmp-widevinecdm.lastInstallStart 1671609449 media.gmp-widevinecdm.visible true

Just recently Firefox has started to negatively affect my network connection, seemingly only after video playback has happened. Every fix to six pings the time jumps up from the normal range (less than 100ms) to 2-3,000 ms and then returns to normal. This only happens with Firefox and seems to happen mostly when/after video playback has happened but can also happen without video playback. I have started FF without addons as well as in Safe Mode and it still occurs. As soon as I close FF the ping returns to normal and network stability resumes.
