Every time I connect my account on another device to sync up, it totally resets extensions and new tab shortcuts on ALL of my devices. It keeps my bookmarks, theme and what extensions are installed, but again all of my new tab shortcuts and my extension are reset, which is a pain in the rear for extensions like NoScript and taking the time to rebuild all of the new tab shortcuts.
Is there any way to set a device as the primary to push out to others or download those settings to avoid having to set them up again?

I have a feeling I know the answer, but wanted to confirm. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to reset my PC. Upon doing that and downloading Firefox all of my data is gone. Bookmarks, saved logins, etc. all gone. I thought once I logged into my Firefox account everything would be there. I've logged into my account on other computers in the past and all my stuff was there but not this time. Now it's saying all of my stuff (profiles, etc) was created today. Is my stuff really gone forever? I thought the whole point of the Firefox account was so I could just login and have everything sync.

The logs on desktop in "about:sync-log" show "error-sync-1679324467306.txt"
I believe I have tried absolutely everything there is to try in the help articles and forum here. Both devices are indeed signed into the same account.
Thanks for any assistance.

I installed Firefox on a new laptop this morning. When I signed in, Firefox somehow found a very old, like SEVERAL YEARS old, setting of bookmarks, toolbar settings, passwords, etc. and then synced the new device to that old information. Then when I opened Firefox in my other devices, Firefox automatically synced (with the new laptop, apparently) and replaced all my current saved information with all that old information.
I'm crushed. I'm missing several years' worth of bookmarks and other information I'd saved in my Firefox. Is there a way to reclaim the Firefox information I had on my devices prior to signing in on the new laptop?

I want to use a different account linked to my Firefox. All data i used at first account is partially obsolete. At the same time i want to keep the data for just in case moments. When i use another account address, Firefox asks for my primary account. I just want to make a new account. Why i need the primary and also a verification at another device. At first i did manage and got a second sync account, but then Firefox started to combine those 2 accounts. More bookmarks. twice bookmark Firefox. I just want to start from scratch (without losing the data i already got). Firefox behaves likes Google or Facebook it follows you where ever you go, keeps tracks on you. I have two laptops and a mobile phone that are connected to Firefox and have sync operating. One the laptops shows a location of Wrexham which is approximately correct. The other shows a location of Boardman, OR, United States, a place some 6000 miles away and of which I have never heard. Googling the location gives me no useful information, other than it is a small town with no special characteristics. A screenshot of part of the Firefox Accounts page illustrates what the situation is.
The laptop stated as in Boardman has a location set within Windows. That is not Wrexhan but is only a few miles from there.
I have used iplocation.net which gives me the location of my ISP, in England.
I sometimes use a VPN (for work) and when being used iplocation.net gives a different English location which I think is the locaton of the ISP for my Employer.
I am unsure what is going on here nor do I know what implications there are for my security. I do not seem to be able to fix this.
Can anyone help, please?

Hi, for some reason, my Firefox account just doesn't want to stay signed in. I had it set up so it would keep being logged in, but it stopped working. I tried everything I could find on the forums and it still doesn't work. The only lead I have is that in the sync screen it says "your browser is being managed by your organization" and I have AVG installed - could that be the problem? I hope not, but don't know what else it could be...
