Windows 11, v23H2

After the last update, I have a problem opening some links just with a left click. Most open fine, but on some sites, I can open the site fine, but all other links have to be opened in a new tab. Sometimes, I can't even get that menu to come up, so I have to save the link URL and open it in a new tab manually.

I have my browser set to open all tabs in a new window, so that's not the problem.

It's very annoying, especially when I'm trying to get something done quickly.

How do I fix this? TIA

Hi. Mozilla has been my preferred browser since it first came out and up to 3 days ago my use of it has been awesome. But 3 days ago my location started showing as if I lived in Miami instead of Oakland where I actually live. The "problem" is every time I do a search it gives me responses as if I lived in Miami... and i don't.

At the bottom of the page, it says the responses are due to my IP address, so I contacted my internet provider (Comcast) and they tell me my IP address is identified as Oakland, and told me to look else where.

So I am now looking to you. Do you have any thoughts on what the problem might be?

Thanks for any help you might offer. Be well, Joseph

Recently, I've had issues with certain websites that appear to have taken the "www." notation out of their website addresses. Is this an issue involving the Firefox browser, my VPN (Nord), or could it be a combination of both?

In the distant past, I used to be able to set Firefox to NOT auto-highlight the URL-bar when I single-click.

At some point Firefox removed this ability. I was wondering in 2025 if there is some workaround to get this function working again.

I would like to have Firefox work this way: -a single click places the cursor in the URL-bar without any highlight (if I want the entire URL-bar highlighted, I will use CRL+L) -a double-click will highlight a specific word or content between two dots (e.g., double-clicking on "mozilla" will highlight just mozilla in support.mozilla.org -it's fine with me if a triple-click highlights the entire URL-bar but I don't require it.

I posted this back in February and never got any replies, so lets try again.  :-)

OS: Xubuntu 24.04.2 Firefox: All version for quite a long time up through version 137.01

In general I have no problem with direct URLs loaded into Firefox, whether from local links or from remote sites.

However, sometimes, possibly as a result of an embedded link in an email, or from a site that pops-up a new instance of the default browser (i.e., Firefox), the URL is mangled with a local filesystem path prepended to the proper URL. The path seems to be one that Firefox accessed in the recent past. For example, a path such as: /usr/local/bin

When clicking on the link, the browser starts up with the URL field showing: /usr/local/binhttps://.........

I then have to delete the leading path component before I can access the URL. I'd include a test case if I could find something repeatable that I could post here, but at the moment I don't have one.

Any ideas why this is happening and any suggestions for a way to stop Firefox from prepending the local filesystem path?

Thanks.

Starting yesterday, browsing to the ebay.com url resulted in Korean language text being displayed per the attached screenshot. The same continues today. I tried the ebay options of changing language by choosing a national flag. Choosing the US Stars and Stripes made no difference; I still got Korean text. I tried disabling my VPN; it made no difference. I tried choosing the Canadian Maple Leaf flag and got English text but Canadian prices.

I tried to report the problem (in Firefox) using ebay's contact links; but those links require logging in. I could not because I could not pass the Capcha challenge while remaining in Firefox.

Thinking that the problem might lie with Firefox, I loaded and used the Brave browser. Not only did I get US English and prices straightaway, I was able to login with ebay and report the problem. My VPN is active and has been since I loaded Brave.

Because I have these problems only while using Firefox, I came here to report the problem and ask for assistance resolving it.

MfG, R. Ziegler.
