I updated to Windows 11 last night and a bunch of programs (Adobe, Kobo destop app, and Mozilla) would no longer open so I restored my desktop to Windows 10 an hour or so later. Mozilla still didn't work - gave me a weird pop-up error message and wouldn't do anything other than that. I uninstalled and reinstalled Mozilla to try to fix the issue, but now there's a new one. I don't get an error message when I open Mozilla, but it doesn't try to connect to any of the websites that I enter in even the ones that I go to a lot - it's not even showing anything to indicate that it's loading or trying to find the page (I've attached a photo showing what it looks like after I hit enter to go to that website). I uninstalled and reinstalled Mozilla again and also tried a refresh and the issue is still happening. It's the browser that I use for almost everything on my computer so I'm lost without it. Please help!

Spellchecker failure since version 95 (RLBox problem ?)

Since the 95th version, the spellchecker instantly stops working after the first page load, and it never starts again. I have to restart Firefox.

Details:

I have a div element with multiple paragraphs inside. The div has the following attributes: spellcheck="true" lang="hu" contenteditable="true" (I have the same results with lang="en")

After the page load, spelling errors are visible (red wavy underline), but if I edit one of the paragraphs with an error, the underlines are disappear in that paragraph. If I reload the page, the spelling errors are now completely missing. Only browser restart helps, but it only shows the errors again once.

This worked before nicely.

Is there any log I could check?

Versions:

Firefox: 95.0.2 (64-bit) I have reinstalled language packs and dictionaries with the newest versions.

I was browsing without any problem when suddenly just firefox on my PC stops being able to load any pages.

I tried clearing the startup cache and it managed to work once but when I checked firefox to install the latest version, the problem returned. Now even the version check is in infinite loading.

Troubleshooting mode is the same, so it is not addon related.

When I close firefox, the process lingers on the task manager for a while until it gives the firefox has crashed window. Even that seems to have a difficulty in sending its error report

Is there any way to deal with this? I do not want to use the refresh firefox option cause its sounds like it will remove my add-ons

Since I upgraded to v96.0 I have been getting this error message every time I open Firefox. I read another thread that suggested I alter...

    browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes

...to zero (0) in "about:config". However, I'm guessing this change basically turns off this functionality, which I wouldn't want if the browser actually crashed. However, this doesn't seem to work at all, either on the network "Data" folder or the local "Data" folder, so Firefox has become very annoying to use.  :-(

I have two (2) data directories (which, of course, contains my profile) for firefox; one on my local machine and one on the network. I normally use the network data directory and only use the local one if I'm traveling. I haven't used the local "Data" for three (3) months, and it worked fine for two weeks. As a test I activated the local "Data" directory (I renamed "Data" to "Data_network" and "Data_local" to "Data"). I got the same problem so I'm sure this has to do with the latest upgrade to v96.0.

My settings, which have always been set like this, are:

+ I have "Open previous windows and tabs" un-checked.
+ I have "Choose what you see when you open your homepage, new windows, and new tabs." set to "Custom URLs..." and my "Homepage and new windows" is set to my home page URL.

Any thoughts?

I am unable to access a website with a saved password. I have contacted the IT people at the website and they have advised that there could be a problem with an upgrade of Firefox, that is not compatible. I am not sure what I need to do to fix this problem. I have been accessing this website the same way for over 10 years and now unable to use it.

I'm running v95.02 (64bit) on a Dell G5-5500 with 16GB RAM and an NVIDIA RTX 2070 with 6GB RAM with Windows 11 (v10.0.22000)

On many occasions (several times a day) Firefox simply goes away without warning... sometimes after several minutes on a page. Sometimes in GMail, sometimes Facebook, sometimes other sites... there does not seem to be a particular pattern.

Is there a hidden log somewhere that I can send to you to help resolve this issue?

Thx!

Firefox now requires a refresh to use every time it's opened. If I don't it keeps displaying that every page I attempt to go to has an expired https. It requests that I contact the owner to notify them of the problem and to try again. It does not connect to any webpage without a refresh. I've attempted troubleshooting mode and without a refresh, it still does not work. The refresh only lasts for about 10-15 minutes before another is required. All extensions are removed and even just attempting to go to google.com results in the same problem.

I do not get it. This browser has everyday now for the longest time gone downhill and it is just getting worse and worse to the point it is unusable. To navigate the internet one can no longer simply use the great firefox to do so. Besides the browswer having issues itself, it seems just about every webpage does not work on firefox at all either. Sync is a joke, history doesn't even work ans saving passwords is useless. But my last issue, enough is enough and I am done. Trying for quite so time figure out why firefox is not loading my school book. It is redirect the URL a million times. Mobile and desktop FF. Use chrome and now only does it work, it is faster. Just stop the project and move on. You guys had your run and obviously someone somewhere lost their values.

Hello,

I work as IT Support admin and I manage de Mac software & update deployments.

I deployed the 96.0 yesterday and a good portion of our users are experiencing issues (Macs only):

We have an infinite loading on every pages we try to open. And must force quit the App. From time to time it looks like its working back again for a while, but then it occurs again. Sadly I haven't found a way to trigger the problem on the demand in order to pinpoint the origin.

according to this post :https://www.spinics.net/lists/fedora-devel/msg296180.html It may be an infinite loop in the HTTP3 protocol.

I had trouble finding information on this problem.

Any more clue about this ?

What does this error mean and how can I fix it. It seems to prevent any videos from loading or playing and the sites also from loading if they video links.

Almost every time I visit the typing test website MonkeyType (https://monkeytype.com), and take a typing test, the tab simply freezes and does not update. Soon after this, Firefox stops responding. However, the website works smoothly on Tor browser, which is also based on Firefox. I've tried disabling WebGL, and running the website on a new profile in case corrupt cookies or extensions were the issue, but this still doesn't work. What can I do to solve this issue?

More info: I'm running Windows 10.
