Hello.

Typing anything in URL (address) bar causes my CPU spike to 15-20% shown in Windows Task Manager, and up to 80% shown in Firefox Task Manager. I have 8 core / 16 threads CPU running at 4.0 GHz, so typing text in browser taking 15-20% of that is rather bizarre to me. OS: Windows 10 What I tried: - disabling Firefox Accessibility Service - hardware acceleration on/off - troubleshooting mode

Don't have same issue in other browsers (Chrome, Opera) Any ideas what else that might be?

My application manages an online ordering system. Testing is done on a local server using localhost domain name. Fedora 35 with Apache server. Application is PHP.

The application creates a list of orders using a MySQL database. The list is presented and an order can be accessed via a link (which uses localhost domain in the URL). This step works fine, the order is displayed for the user. A link on that display allows the user to enter a small message for the order, that link uses localhost domain in the URL. That link works fine, the screen where the user can enter the small message is displayed.

When the user inputs the message and presses the submit button of the form (the URL for the form is, once again, using localhost in the URL), the application hangs for a minute and a 504 Gateway Timeout error message is displayed.

I have examined the simple html code thoroughly and find no obvious errors. I have tried many different kinds of URL specifications in the form with no difference in result. I have replaced the 'submit' in the form with a Javascript call to submit the form, with no change in result. I have run the application with and without internet connectivity with the same results.

I am trying to understand why several steps preceding this failure, all using the same URL format and all accessing localhost are successful, but this one fails.

I can provide the html if needed.

Help badly needed. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Bill Lee

Firefox update from 111.0.1 to 112 set the dates of most cookies into the far future and keeps doing it

The last update made it look like all cookies were gone, except there are still there but the dates are wrong. 90%+ of them have their "last used" date set to "in 4,137 years" (see screenshot). Websites ask to accept cookies every time Firefox is restarted, which makes them basically useless. I have to use phone authentication each time I want to check gmail on my desktop because the site acts as if it had never seen me before.

Firefox's safe mode is the same. I ran the antivirus on the whole system and it found nothing. Windows clock works fine. Other Firefox functions seem to behave like normal. Other browsers are unaffected.

I filed a bug report and I'm thinking about trying the last extended support version to see if it still happens. I backed up the whole profile and I would like to keep all my data, including the cookies.

So, what can I do to try and get this fixed fast, and possibly keep my cookies, too? Thank you very much!

I'm trying to help my daughter. First, frequently a graphic background appears in the Firefox address bar consisting of diagonal gray and reddish stripes occasionally. This can be made to disappear if one closes Firefox and reopens Firefox. Second, on startup after the computer was in sleep mode, there is a translucent graphic robotic like image over the screen when Firefox is opened. This goes away if one closes and reopens Firefox. It does not reappear until the computer goes into sleep mode and one reopens it and opens Firefox.

Firefox always brings up the saved password for a particular website, but the password is old and wrong. Going to the Logins and Passwords management page, I enter a search for the website as it appears in the address bar, but there is no associated login in Firefox. There is no password associated with any part of the website's name or URL in 'about:logins' . Yet still some password shows up with a saved login. How do I find the password for this website and correct the password?

I've got this weird behavior happening where if my window is closed from maximize, which saves the browser's size, and I open it, it will first open in maximize then size down to the same size.

In other words, Firefox will always open the window to a specific size regardless of what it was when I closed it. This is extremely annoying.

Is this part of resisting fingerprinting? This is some unusual behavior that I haven't seen Firefox do before ever.

I can provide a little video if my explanation wasn't clear.

My Firefox recently updated itself to version 112.0 - since then, when I close all its windows and then run FF again, on all websites opened in tabs (e.g. Facebook, Google Search etc.) I am logged off. In previous FF versions, my logged-in status was preserved between individual FF runs. Firefox not only logs me out of all sites, but also logs me out of the LastPass extension, which also stayed logged in in previous Firefox versions. Anyone knows what is going on? I dont want to have to relogin to all sites each time...
