I've installed Firefox 105.0.3 on a machine with a fresh installation of Windows. I've left the machine running overnight. The next morning, Firefox stops loading pages. When I check C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox, I can see that Firefox.exe has a file date of July, instead of October: all the files in this folder are now for version 102 instead of 105. This has happened several times in a row now. What could be causing this problem?

I have seen multiple references to this problem but no clear solution. Should this file in the system32 folder be replaced? (saw a video saying this solved the problem) Is this a Firefox problem or a windows problem? (Windows support did not know exactly what to do) I have used Firefox forever and would like to keep doing so but there is a limit. Please provide some advice. I haven't had a Windows problem for so long I forgot that they happen.

I just signed up for Mail.com and created a new email account there. When I first used it, I received a message (not an email) that I am not using the most current Firefox, and I need to download the most current Firefox. However, Firefox's update function says I am current. Now, I am concerned that Mail.com is not reliable or safe, although it is promoted by Firefox. Can you clear this up?

This is more of an FYI, and it is probably not going to matter to you, but I feel the need to say it.

I have been a Firefox user for as long as I can remember. Until 2014 I worked in a school district and they were having problems with Explorer, so I talked them into trying Firefox for their computer class. They were thrilled with the results.

For the past year or so I have tried everything I could find to fix the sluggishness of this browser on my laptop, which I have had for 2.5 years. It worked fine in the beginning, but has gotten ridiculously slow. I understand the explanation of the multiple instances found in Task Manager, but I cannot, for my sanity, continue to use this program. Currently Task Manager shows 6 for Firefox and I am writing this in Chrome, which has 8 in Task Manager, and is working wonderfully.

I no longer have the time or patience to deal with this. Maybe, if I see more comments regarding the fix for this, I will return to Firefox. But until then, goodbye.

105.03 on Macos 12.5 & 12.6, Apple Silicon

I recently received a SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN error when trying to connect to a Heroku site (addons.heroku.com) I think. I thought it was a Heroku problem, but noticed that on clicking "advanced" the certificate was described as being for completely different domains, on every refresh.

Shift-refresh fixed this.

Since then I upgraded to Macos 12.6, and today received a similar error when trying to connect to https://www.theautopian.com/mclaren-f1-chief-engineer-gordon-murrays-mk-i-ford-escort-is-a-restomod-masterpiece/ – again, the certificate was described as belonging to a different domain. As before a shirt-refresh fixed this.

i have a login to Harris county /toll Road Authority. A few weeks ago, it quit loading. When I click the bookmark, the tab shows motion, but after that, only a blank screen. I have tried the same web site on MS Edge, and it loads without a problem. Tried settings change to no proxy, adding the login to exceptions - no change, it still loads a blank screen. What is going on?

Having just 1 tab open -- my gmail -- firefox is taking nearly 1GB of memory. Opening an empty tab pushes to memory used over 1GB. Also there are 12 listed tabs in the Task Manager.

I already took multiple steps. Cleared cache and cookies. Put in troubleshoot mode and refreshed. Minimized memory usage via about:memory.

Please help.

Hello,

So I have noticed that it is now somewhat common, after I upgrade to a newer version of FF, that I often "Lose" one or more Pinned Websites. This didn't use to happen and the reason I have pinned every one of the websites on the four rows of possible websites is that I want to be able to go back to that website and it's quicker to go from "here" vs. from a bookmark. Another thing that now happens: I was on a new website yesterday and today FF had replaced one of my favorite pinned websites.

I have to ask: What is the point of having the ability to Pin a website IF FF is then going to "arbitrarily" remove my pinned website and Replace it with some website I did Not choose to pin?! I thought that was the point: that I could Pin a website and have access to it and it would Stay there. (Okay, as much as anything can "stay" there in a world in flux) The bummer is, I have Lost some significant websites that I can't even find again Because I had relied on them being Pinned and did not make a bookmark Because it was already Pinned. Do you follow me?

The way I see it is that IF I Pin a website, it should Stay Pinned and Not be able to just be replaced, Especially if I Don't either dismiss it from the library Or delete it from the library. But this has been happening more and more often and it seems arbitrary and unfair. I don't want FF to Add a website to my 4 rows of pinned websites by taking away a website I had previously pinned. Again, what's the point of pinning it in the first place then?

Thank you for your time.
