When you're in a fullscreen tab, like a youtube video, and use the command for a new tab (ctrl + t) you are not directly in the address-bar in that new tab.

If you're in a non-fullscreen tab and use the command, then you are directly in the address-bar.

This is inconsistent and annoying. If you are watching an English youtube video and you come across a word you don't know, and you press "ctrl + t" to get to a new tab, you're not in the address-bar to type something like "meaning word".

Is this a bug? Is this an intended feature? How do I fix this? Is there a setting for this in about:config?

I want to permanently unpin and remove a tab, but the pinned tab keeps reappearing each time I restart Firefox. I found this 2013 Mozilla support post (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/958938) but I don't understand what it means.

Firefox updated and now my tabs are above the address bar, I hate it. I have went through all the information I could and created a new chrome folder, downloaded the css and changed user preferences but it sets the tabs to the bottom of the screen not just below the address bar. I think I need a different set of code for the css but cant find a copy. Does anyone know what to do?

Well seems Firefox has been messing this up again.

Anyone have the new work around solution to get my tabs back on the bottom again. They were fine this morning then shut down and went out to lunch and when I came back they were back on the top again after months of being where I wanted them below my bookmark bar.

Thoughts on this?

I've mentioned this before but never have found good answers or feedback. Too often (well more than I'd like) I've closed Firefox and when I come back (start up Firefox again) my previous Tabs are lost. And, there is no option to restore previous session, nor closed tabs. Firefox keeps history, why can't it keep a history of previous tabs. And, why does it frequently not provide: Restore previous session. It seems that keeping a history previous tabs for a period of time isn't that difficult. Please enlighten me. This has happened to me (losing the previous tabs) more than care to remember.

when selecting a new tab in Firefox, three more tabs show up, two tabs are "blank" and the third one opens a browser for either Firefox or MS Edge (which is set for www.bing.com/) ?

I have maybe forty simple tab groups (I'm a teacher) and have set STG to automatically back up. But I have no idea how to restore my simple tab groups from these backups. FYI I have an HP Spectre 360 laptop.

I use Firefox on Linux, on a wide screen, usually with multiple windows open at the same time.

Specifically, I have a smallish window containing a calendar view. It's annoying that new tabs get created in that small window, because I have to move them manually to another window and resize that. I'd like to be spared the clicks and drags to get that done, or always needing to remember to move the focus to another Firefox window after doing something with the calendar.

Is there a way to accomplish the following: 1. When I've got a Firefox window open that I don't want new tabs in 2. And I open a link from outside Firefox (say, from a mail in Thunderbird or from my IDE) 3. A new tab doesn't get created in the window from 1. 4. Even if that window has the focus. 5. Instead, the URL gets opened in either a new tab in another Firefox window or a new Firefox window

I'm fine with a stable add-on, if that's what it takes to do this.

Any ideas greatly appreciated!

I have set my browser to restore the last Sessen when reopening. Sometimes i am a bit stupid and am not closing my main window with many tabs and my pinned taps for mail, contacts, ... which i regularly need

Aaaand sometimes the "Chronik" (History) for recently closed Windows is empty, nothing opens in the sub menu and i have to manually recreate all my pinned tabs. And this is super annoying.

Today i returned to my pc. I opened firefox and I have seen that only my window with youtube and video streaming has reopened and i failed to restore the important window because nothing appeared in the sub menu.

Maybe you can help me. I like firefok but always restoring my pinned tabs is super annoying.

Since I have purchased my new laptop I am no longer always given the option to open new links in new tabs rather then new windows. I have my settings/ preferences selected to open new links in new tabs. This is important to me. It is frustrating. I do hope there is an easy fix. Thank you.

When using Firefox on Linux, the hotkey I usually use to switch between tabs is Alt + <Tab index>. But when I switch to Windows, the hotkey becomes Ctrl + <Tab index>.

Is there any way to change this hotkey on Windows to become like Linux?

If I click on any link to Facebook, Facebook then takes over that tab so I cannot return to where ever I was before i clicked on the Facebook link. For example, I have a tab for DuckDuckGo. If I do a search and a link to Facebook appears, and I click on it, I go to the whatever the link is pointed to - but the BACK Button will NOT take me back to DuckDuckGo. The history for that Tab only shows the Facebook page. How can I correct this?

My question is the yahoo mail systems does not let me do anything but read the email, no delete, no move, no open attachments, can not see past a couple of days. Nothing works. So confused. If I open edge and yahoo mail works great. Help please.
